This is a grow I did last season that went really well. Unfortunately I don't have any veg pictures but its still a cool grow none the less. This is actually week 2 of flower. The plants were defoliated and lolipopped just before the flip and they STRETCHED. The tent was small so the scrog nets were more for support than anything. We had been going through an incredibly hot year here and it was pushing 95 degrees during the day all the way through to October. Luckily my lights run at night to save on electricity bills so I learned that high night time temps are not as detrimental. Hope you all enjoy. Adding Greenleaf Nutrients part A and B at 2.4 and 1.8 at this point.
The Wedding Cake put on a HUGE stretch this week. It was the smallest of the bunch and I almost trashed it to make more room for the other two, but decided to let it ride. It put on 8 inches in a week and is showing no signs of slowing down. Bad news for me considering she is only 2 inches away from the max height before the light will be too close. The other two are looking great and adding a lot of bud sites. Very impressed with Greenleaf Nutrients. First run with them and I can say for sure it is the easiest nutrient system I have ever used to date.
Welp the Wedding Cake proved to be a bi***. She stretched over a foot in a week and is now only 10 inches from the light. The buds re already showing signs of stress and I am just not sure what to do. The heat wave continues but other than a little curling of the leaves the plants don't seem to bothered. I am now adding Bud Explosion to the mix at 1 g/gal while part A and B are at their last week of 2.4g/gal each. It's my first time with this product and I am really excited to see how it turns out. The Mimosa and Bubba are going strong. They have finished their stretch and are started to pack on more bud sites and white hairs. Both are right at the max height line so I am hoping they don't stretch anymore.
WOW, they are really starting to pack on the weight already. The Wedding cake has started to fox tail, nothing I can do about that. The Mimosa and Bubba are looking incredible though. Already starting to thicken up. I am really excited to see where this goes. Heat wave has begun to relent and the temps have been much more stable. Nutrients are now at 4.2g/gal flowering,1.8g/gal veg, and 1.5g/gal bud explosion
Week six is coming in strong! The Wedding Cake is going to be a bust. I should have thrown her out when I had the chance and scrogged the other two better to get more lights to the lower buds. Live, learn and take good notes in the grow notebook is all I can do. The Bubba Diagonal is PACKING it on right now. She is really started to get heavy. Only week 6 and branches are beginning to fall over. The Mimosa may be a problem in a few weeks. I think it is going to need a little longer but I don't have the time. I hope that she finishes faster than I think she will but I'll have to wait and see. Bud Explosion has increased to 1.5g/gal this week and will continue that way until flush.
WE ARE SO CLOSE!! They are incredibly fat now. The Mimosa is for sure going to have to come down a little early but I am not sweating it at all, the trichomes are where they need to be so I may loose a little weight but hopefully not any potency. Bubba is for sure going to be the winner of this grow. I can't say enough about this plant. I have pushed it as hard as I can, it took a heat wave that almost knocked me over it was so hot, and never stopped. I am in love with this plant, wish I had taken some clones.
HARVEST WEEK!!!! I let them go a little over to 58 days. The Wedding Cake is trash for buds but the trichomes aren't to bad so I am going to turn it into kief. The Mimosa isn't quite as bulky as the Bubba but she still looks great. Awesome coloring through, great big calyx spinning out in all directions. Then there is the Bubba, the winner of this grow. She has packed on some serious weight in this final week. The buds just continue to become more and more dense. I cannot wait to update this grow with a final dry weight. Very impressed with this line of nutrients by Greenleaf Nutrients. They are incredibly stable in terms of both PPM and PH, the feeding calendar on the bags is spot on, they are a local San Diego company and are sustainably sourced. I will not be using any other base nutrients, thats for sure.
UNREAL! The biggest plant I have ever grown. If I have lolipopped better and trained this plant to be wider, I think I could have gotten 4+ ounces easy out of her. Ended up with 3.86 dried and cured. SO STOKED! Smoke is incredible. SMACKs you right in the face as soon as you hit it. Not quite couch locked, but for sure I am not doing much more than heading to the park with my pups afterwards lol.
This strain was a little fussy about nutrient schedule. I hit a lock out twice with it and the heat really didn't help at all. Overall, in better conditions this strain would have been a beast, probably heavier than the bubba.
I would definitely grow this strain again, but I wouldn't recommend it to a beginner. It was tricky during flower and required a lot more attention than the Bubba. It really didn't appreciate the heat, and it did need to go for probably 9+ weeks really.
I didn't like this strain. It was the runt the entire time until week five where it stretched almost a foot out of no where. It fox tailed from being too close to the light and never really finished. I wouldn't grow this strain again ever.
