The_Weedsmith Wow, what a mission getting to this point.
I think I have new appreciation for every joint Ive ever smoked. This growing malarkey isn't easy, haha.
I had a disaster start, with 6/6 seed not popping and turning black. Winter is here, so we've been having pretty chilly nights 7-10 C, it was a constant struggle keeping the seeds warm and I'm guessing that was the reason none of them popped.
I bought a reptile heat mat and after 36hr in paper tile on the heat mat I finally had sprouts from my seeds. Pics attached are day 5 and 7 from going into paper towel.

The_Weedsmith Apologies for the crappy photos, These little ladies are 14 days from going into paper towel. One is 3 or 4 days behind the others which you can see,
Not much to report, they seem to be happy and healthy.
Feeding every second or third day.

The_Weedsmith Another week has passed and again we have healthy little ladies. Apart from a tiny little dry tip of one of the fan leafs,Is this something I should be concerned about?
Last feed was two days ago
They have been in their big girl pots for a week now (2 gallon fabric). I do seem to have one mutant plant which I have dubbed Quasimodo. Although she looks a little strange she seems to be in great shape.
Starting to get a yummy little smell off them today (Day 21 from seed). and have started training them with pipe cleaners.
One more week and will change to my LED and drop to 18/6.

The_Weedsmith Nute burn!!!! On one tip, of one leaf, of one plant. The research I've done on it says it seems to be a common rookie error so I dropped the feeding amount buy 50% today.
The stems are thickening and getting harder and have about 4 sets of leaves on each plant. The LST on them have really started showing positive signs as you can see in the pics.
But this is really two stories, one of the happy healthy plants I speak of above, then there's the story of Little Quazy. Im not too sure if she is still worth the effort but she seems happy and if anything will be a learning experience.
Im struggling with heat in that there is too much change between the temp when lights are on and off. Maybe one of you legends have the answer. Has anyone used infrared reptile light to keep things toasty when the lights are of?
Ive got the timer to go off at the hottest time of the day but we have days where it will have temps can drop to as low as 14 degrees.
Really enjoying the grow process and Growdiaries.

The_Weedsmith Changed the Lighting to 20/4 and changed to LED light, They definitely seem like the LED as they shown way more response that under the CFL.
Since changing the lights ive battled with temperature control with quite a big change in temp between day / night. Im thinking about using a reptile infrared reptile heat light with the LED to maintain warmth, Any suggestions or experience with this from anyone would be great.
I ordered a new 1000w LED which arrived today so pretty excited to see the difference, currently using 45w,

The_Weedsmith We have pubes!! These little ladies have started to flower and Im pretty stoked to have got this far.
Ive dropped the lighting to 18/6. and finally managed to maintain a semi constant temp although not the ideal 26.
Quasimodo has joined the party and looks like she will be a great little plant in the end. Still a few days behind the other and really looking forward to seeing her start flowering.
I seem to have a couple spots that look like it nute burn on some of the older leaves but it seems to be contained to only one or two leaves on the two plants in fromt,
The light I bought was a faulty so have returned that. got something to boost my wattage until I can get something decent.
Otherwise all smiles so far and starting to think about then next grow already.

The_Weedsmith They seem to have got quite a bit taller in the last week.
Still going well apart from what I imagine are rookie errors, Getting some ph spots but seem to have fix the problem.
I thought they may start smelling a bit more by now but flowers are still really small at this point.
Quasimodo has really come into her own and is starting to flower, Still shorter and smaller than the other two.
Upped lighting from 45w to 120w.

The_Weedsmith Not much to report this week. Im feeling that these ladies may take a little longer than the prescribed 10 weeks to be ready as I cant imagine that these will have fully formed buds in 2 two week. Although what do I know.
New light on the way and should be here in the next few days. That will increase my current wattage by ten times. Cant wait.

The_Weedsmith Got bud?
The new light arrived and I'm super stoked, Started to see the effects of the 1200w LED light in the first few days. The smell has got stronger and feel I like a teenager asking people to smell my fingers after ive been downstairs to tend to these ladies 😂and by people I mean my wife.
If you've been following this diary you will have know that I have been battling the cold, New light and the weather starting to warm have fixed that issue. I'm stoked. Couple more weeks on these I reckon. Maybe a little longer for Quasimodo, which by the way is developing into a great little plant and could end up being the queen of the crop.

The_Weedsmith Still the story of 3 plants.
The tallest one has the smallest buds and they are quite fluffy but the stinkiest of the lot and get sticky fingers when I touch her flowers. She has started to turn ginger and I started to flush yesterday. Not very optimistic on the returns from this girl as I cant imagine.
The middle plant seems to be the queen of the crop so far. Her bugs are nice and chunky and super firm. I have noticed a bit of clawing on her and I backed off on the nutes. I saw a few ginger pistils on her and reckon I will start flushing next week.
Smallest (Quasimodo/ Ugly Duckling) She started a bit deformed and mutate but has transformed into a real contender. Growing very similar to her good sister. I reckon she will be a week or so behind the other one.
They all smell very sweet and fruity to the touch
All in all Im pretty pleased with how these lovely ladies arelooking

The_Weedsmith After the kind people from Humboldt saw last weeks post they felt that these girls still had a few weeks to go so I stopped the flush of the tall, lanky plant with the fluffy buds and got her back on the nutes. Buds on her are bulking up slightly.
The other two are getting bigger by the day. Really happy with how they are looking. Its also so interesting for a noob like me to see 3 of the same seeds grow so differently from each other when they've all had the same treatment.
Ordered a little handheld microscope that connects to my phone which I can wait to arrive to really get up close and personal with these pretty ladies

The_Weedsmith Im gonna start the flush on the best looking plant as I think she may be ready. You can see by the tricomes, they are mostly milky. She is definitely the front runner but dont thing the other two are far behind.
Got the next grow germinating already so straight back into it.

The_Weedsmith Started the flush on all plants now. I am waiting for the trikes to start going ginger at the suggestion of the guys at @Humboldt, but its is taking all my will power and self restraint to not chop them down. I reckon I can last a few more days but not much more.
They all have slightly different smells to them. But definitely getting fruity/bubblegum smells at this point.
I bought a microscope which has been a lot of fun.
Any day now...
I couldnt resist... I snuck a few tastes of buds that havent fully cured and itsdelicious. Has a fruity smell.
Its amazing how much better the quality of a homegrown bud is compared to the illegal street weed we have.

The_Weedsmith As this is my first grow I dont have anything to compare it to but If anything Its been a great experience growing my own weed and I am definitely going to carry on.
It was interesting to see how phenotype variance can impact the overall yield.
Overeall I have loved the experience and I already have the next grow in the tent.
I would say looking at the pictures that these buds will still need 3-4 more weeks to reach maximum potential.
I'll keep looking in as these flowers develop 👍
Looking good so far my friend 👊
Kind regards
Team-HSO..
@The_Weedsmith, not a problem my friend we are happy to assist👍
Your at 11 total weeks now from germination so these plants should be much bigger in flower size than we are seeing, they still look to have several weeks left which does give time for yield to be added, would you agree buddy?
Kind regards
Team-HSO..
@Humboldt_Seed_Organisation , I'll take your word for it as this is the first time I've grown anything and you guys are the pros 😀. Although I tend to agree with you its hard to gauge as they all seem to be growing at different paces.
The first pic from this week shows it pretty well. The tall plant with little buds is starting to go ginger and i have started to flush.
The other two are growing great maybe 2/3 more weeks on the one on the left and maybe 4 on the one thats a week behind (middle plant) but that is a total guess.
I reckon the shitty lighting to start with during flowering and the cold temps may have stunted their growth a little but again this is just a newbies assumption.
@The_Weedsmith, The best thing you can do is what you are doing, judge your harvest by trichome colour and development 👍
The macro trichome shots in this week's pictures have definitely turned from clear to milky but I don't see any Amber just yet. They will not be far behind my friend and it's great that the flush has begun 👍
You most definitely have some phenotype variance out of the plants. Growing at different places so you will be doing staggered harvests 👊
Looking great in here my friend, we are watching with interest 👊
Keep the updates coming mate as harvest approaches 👍
Kind regards
Team-HSO..
Best of luck with your first grow and thank you for choosing our genetics for this (your 1st) adventure :)
Glad to see seeds have now germinated and ready to show the world what they can do :)
I'll be along for the ride and watching with interest on this one ;)
Good luck again!
Kind regards
Team-HSO..
Not long now mate 👍
Lots of milky trichomes ready to start to turn Amber and a beautiful looking plant.
The time is coming to get those scissors out and your fingers sticky 👊
Kind regards
Team-HSO..
@The_Weedsmith, So i see my friend and for your first grow you did amazing👍
We really enjoyed this grow and you've got a nice end outcome ✌️
Thank you for the great diary. "Diary approved "👊
Enjoy that dank and frosty end product mate ✌️
Kind regards
Team-HSO..
@Humboldt_Seed_Organisation, Thanks for the help along the way.
Really enjoying these girls and still have a couple seeds of this strain. Humboldt seeds will forever be a favourite from now on.
Stay cool. ✌️
@The_Weedsmith, now your talking 👍
Going from 45w to 1000w you are going to see a drastic difference in both growth and end yield 😎
When will the new LED be going in or is it already in your room that's why temps are an issue?
I'll keep dropping in my friend and keep up the great work!
All the best
Mark..
@Humboldt_Seed_Organisation, Thanks Mark
The light that arrived was faulty, It was flickering like a disco light, I thought it may settle but got worse overnight so back to the 45w. Gutted. Should be sorted soon hopefully.
Heat issues are that its the middle of winter and I have my tent in the garage. While the lights were off and the temp was 16C. I am also running an incandescent heat bulb (275w) that is used in household bathrooms and that keeps daytime temps around 24C.
What are your thoughts on the heat light?
Im definitely gonna do the next grow in the house. (2 more of your Dedoverde 👌).
Cheers mate.
