Welcome to my maximum efficiency grow diary with LEDWisdom lights and CO2 boost. These plants will yield huge in a rectangular grow area of 90cmx150cm. I got good ventilation going on and I dim the output fan when I apply CO2 boost. I'm not boosting CO2 yet but we'll be working with 900-1100PPM of CO2 in flowering.
Strains are Barney's Farm Pink Kush and my crossbreed between Pink Kush and Purple Punch. Pink Kush is shorter compared to the crossbreed but I'll manage to get an even canopy for bloom.
I'm using LEDWisdom IVY 200W as veg. lights. I'll add a 100W LEDWisdom Clover LED Bar for mid. and late flowering.
I only have one Chocolate Chunk Clone and hoping that she can catch up with other plants heights. We'll see how that turns out.
All medium is coco topped with a lot of perlite. Fabric pots for more oxygen to the roots.
Feeding plan is simple. I'm using Aptus Regulator once a week to include silica in the feeding program. I'll stop using Diamond Nectar after the transition week. I'll probably add Big Bud from Advanced Nutrients as the flower booster.
Plants are in terrible shape but they will recover fast. Summer was hot and these photos were taken during very hot temps. No need to worry.
Plants will fill the area completely but I'm shooting for some vertical growth as well. Bigger plants yield bigger so we'll have to be patient.
Stay tuned for great results!
Plants were all in bad shape last week. 200W LEDWisdom IVY is riding with proper feeding, watering and trimming for a week and the results are great. I'm planning to flip this tent and move the bonsai moms back to nursery in a couple of weeks after some vertical growth.
Check them out on the next week for more blast!!
Cheers 💪
I added one 100W LEDWisdom Clover LED Bar to the veg. setup to promote more growth. Total mid and late veg light power draw is 300W now. Plants are doing greeat.
Photos are taken right after defoliaton. Plants are heavily trimmed and all the energy is focused into the canopy. I'll train them with the trellis net just to organize the bud sites. We'll be some vertical growth but not too much. I want to fill the trellis net with buds but still be able to remove it without ripping or hurting the plants. This will lead to a clean flowering for sure.
We are still shooting for more vertical growth. I'm trimming the lower parts to achieve a fair height for each plant. Bloom is pretty near and I need bigger plants to fill the trellis net. After that I arrange colas and set up the conditions for an easy and perfect bloom.
Cheers 💪
Vertical growth is there and we are in 6th day of 12/12 now. These photos are from the start and the end of the transition week. I finished the transition week with heavy defoliation. Still feeding veg. nutes to promote stretch and more vertical growth. I'll swap to bloom feeding program when I see some pistils. I advise you guys to do so.
Pistils are not showing up yet. I'm still feeding them with my grow nutes and I'll swap to bloom nutes as soon as I see some pistils. Plants are doing great and the canopy seem to equalize. Plants are intaking more water and I added CO2 boost. Temperature inside the tent is around 27-28 degrees Celsius and the relative humidity is around %53. CO2 PPM inside the tent is around 850-950 but I'm blowing most of the CO2 directly through the canopy and the measurement device is not being blowed by the CO2 rich air coming out from the fan so I expect my plants are receiving over 950PPM of CO2 on averaga.
I set the PPFD around 1000 micro moles on each bud site. I'm expecting a great performance here and did my second trimming today. First one was a week ago. Each node is exposed to enough or more than enough light.
I added LEDWisdom Rosa 400W light at the start of the transition week and removed the Clover 100W LED Bar. I'll add LEDWisdom IVY 600W now and remove all the other grow lights. This will be the main bloom setup and we will start observing the performance of this 600W IP67 proof amazing high PPFD grow light.
Keep tuned for some bloom folks.
Well guys, I'm back with a blast.
This week went great as I refilled my CO2 reactor and treated them with my favorite choice of silica products, Aptus Regulator. I'll keep regulating them weekly cuz the temps are around 28-29 degrees mostly. They are drinking plenty of water and praying to the LED gods 🙏
I changed lights with the LEDWisdom IVY 600W fixture. This one has IP67 protection and uniform high PPFD distribution. This baby is also resistant to salted water and can operate underwater for some time. Each bar draws 200W from the wall. Just great.
Plants have no problems at all, and the vertical growth stopped. Since I observed some pistils, I swapped to bloom feeding program. Cut down Diamond Nectar and changed the ratio of Grow and Bloom nutes.
PPFD is around 950-1000 inside a 90x150cm tent and this is remarkable. Going along with CO2, I'm expecting amazing buds from this grow.
Keep tuned for great bud pictures on next weeks folks. Feel free to ask any questions
Happy growing 💪
Plants are doing amazing. Canopy looks very promising and the average PPFD is 1000 micro moles all around. Some points are exposed to 1200 micro moles and I'm constantly adding CO2. I like to cook with the gas folks. If you got the PPFD, heat and the CO2 boost, then you'll get the best buds around.
This week has been killer fellas 👌
Smell is heavenly in the grow room. It is like walking into a waffle factory. Very sugary and kushy smell is dominating the odor profile and I have no intend to filter it out. I want to smell this forever👏
Pink Kush plants are already showing some great THC potential. I know this strain probably better than anyone else around and when they look like this in the third week, they make very potent buds in the end. Definitely narcotic stuff here folks. Very promising looks. Try this strain out. I'm not sure it has too many phenos or not but the pheno I have is absolute fire. Worth buying a 10 seed pack from Barney's to start a mother plant and be patient for a while.
Pink KushxPurple Punch plants are also doing great. They had very small nugs with short pistils last week but they started to expand now. I'm expecting very heavy nugs from those plants. They should yield a little more compared to the Pink Kush plants. And there was no smell on these plants last week but man... I'm very pleased with it now. These nugs are also sugary but has a bakery kinda undertone as well. Overall smell is heavenly inside the room. Top shelf stuff is what I'm always shooting for. I don't like weak, larfy and weak tasting meds.
I think we will wrap this diary in 5-6 weeks. Make sure you follow the upcoming weeks because this grow will yield big, and yield only top shelf buds. We are running a pro setup after all. You can decide which type of equipment you should invest by checking out a journal like this one. I'm pretty sure there are more people cooking with the gas and that is the way professionals grow meds.
Thanks for jumping in. See you in the following weeks. Cheers 💪
Hi fellow growers,
I'm extremely busy these days but I'm committed to finish my last two journals with a lot of details.
Plants are blooming great and I've been feeding them very mild around 800-900 PPM. pH is still targeted to 5.9 and as we all know, these values mean top shelf buds with such great strains.
I am not using a bloom booster on this grow. I'm only adding GHE Flora Coco Grow and Bloom with pH down. This way we can all see if using a bloom booster is that critical. Personally, I believe in PPM with right NPK ratio and with enough minerals. I usually like to use bloom boosters anyway but this time I chose not to. Hope everything turns out great.
Stay tuned for some fat and frosty buds soon 💪
This week has been great. I'm constantly refreshing the CO2 bucket. I'm very happy with the PPM,PPFD and heat levels. Plants are bulking buds these weeks and we will soon start to see some big and parts. Canopy is filled with buds now and I'm expecting slightly more or less than 1.5grams per Watt with this light fixture. This is a lifetime grow light and definitely recommended. This grow is a tight one with good ventilation. I'm not cranking my output fan all the way because I want to keep most of the CO2 and heat inside the grow tent. I'm blasting my fan directly to canopy and therefore I create a great air circulation. CO2 is directly blown onto plants thanks to the powerful fan and there is no chance of mold here since the humidity is also reasonable.
Smell is fantastic and I'm not using a carbon filter to enjoy it. Grow room smells like standing near a waffle or cotton candy machine. Plants have amazing amount of frost already and I'm expecting much more. I keep them cold when the lights are off to enhance trichome production. This will be an amazing harvest for sure.
Happy growing 💪
This week was amazing guys. I literally watched the buds getting fat day by day. I am still feeding with a similar program and adding Aptus Regulator once per week to boost silica and some other minerals like molybdenum and boron. I'm flowering my plants in a hot environment with CO2 boost. PPFD is high to support these settings and thankfully my the pots aren't getting hot. No fungus gnats or any other pests, no root rot and bad smell. Everything is perfectly neat and buds are exploding. My expectations from this harvest is really high and I'll keep adding CO2 for another week.
Some fellow growers asked for CO2 and PPFD measurements. I am sharing these information on this week's pictures. I got my CO2 meter fixed and I tested the CO2 PPM in different places of the canopy. Typical value for this grow tent with this CO2 setup is around 1100-1350. Temperature is fluctuating between 28-31 and the average PPFD on the bud sites is 1100 micro moles.
I'm sharing CO2 measurements right under the fan, where you expect it to show the lowest value. Then I'll also share the CO2 PPM value coming out from the air pipe, which is normally attached to the grill of the fan. Direct output is now around 5500PPM and in the first two days, the meter shows 10000PPM which is the max value that it can reads. This bucket yeast CO2 reactor lasts for four days and I'm refreshing the mixture twice a week. This is huge CO2 with a fairly low cost compared to propane burners or CO2 tubes.
Edit: I refreshed the CO2 bucket today and got you guys a video of the direct output. The system is outputting more than 10000PPM of CO2 and the meter can't measure it for the first two days. This CO2 method is a killer one for tent grows. Very low cost for very high CO2 concentrations.
Hope these information helps. Happy growing 💪
This week has been amazing. Buds are frosty as hell and they are still bulking up. Two more weeks to go and these plants are already produced a great amount of trichome heavy buds. Pink Kush and Chocolate Chunk buds will definitely be night time meds. I'm very curious of the Pink Kush x Purple Punch breed since this harvest will be the first time for me to smoke it. Stay tuned for even better buds 😎
Cheers and happy growing 💪
Hi guys,
This week is an amazing week because we have some lessons to learn here. Listen closely if you are having trouble harvesting at the right time and feel uncertain if your buds will go bigger or tighter in late flowering.
Just like every phase of plant growth, late flowering is a very important period in a plant's life. We need to give them the best care in every week to get the best result. Commonly, people just watch what happens in the late flowering because their plants flowered and produced nice nugs already so they feel like they can't change anything at this very late stage. Well, there is one more thing you can do at this point: Just wait some more 😅
My plants are already in their late flowering and some of them started showing white pistils. The PinkKushxPurplePunch breed has a lot of new pistils going on and the Pink Kush plants also have a few. Not all but some strains do that and they are mostly sativa or haze kinds. In our case, we don't have a sativa or any haze. So what is the reason behind all these new white pistils?
These plants are grown with a professionally controlled setup and extra care. They had everything they needed except... Pollination. Well, we don't want them to pollinate but by nature, all your female plants desire pollination and they grow their flowers in a way that they maximize the chances. In our case, this is the reason.
These plants decided to increase the surface area by producing new white pistils to increase their chances of getting pollinated for one last time. There is no brand new flowering period beginning here, we are just talking about an extra week or two.
These babies are in their 54th day of flowering and according to most data sheets of most indica strains, flowering should be ended in 8-9 weeks after the flip. In our case, it will be a full nine or ten weeks before the harvest. My guess is ten weeks. Pistils are still cloudy and there are some clear ones. No amber yet. I'll start sharing macro trichome shots next week.
I was planning to harvest them earlier than it should be. With a little more patience, I think I'll pull of 800 grams of dried and trimmed buds here.
Happy growing 💪
Well folks, this was a PPFD and CO2 controlled grow and I didn't use any bloom boosters like the Big Bud or Canna Boost etc.. Results are crazy.
I managed to collect over 760 grams of dried and fine trimmed nugs. The flowering lights is the LEDWisdom Coral 600W IP67 water and dust proof grow lights. For the first two weeks, I used Rosa 400W and Rosette 200W grow lights from LEDWisdom. When Coral arrived, I changed the light setup so the total lights used is 600Watts. Anyway Coral grow lights have near 3.0 umols/J efficacy and makes your garden yield like crazy no matter what. I'm sure I would have collected more if I used a bloom booster but I wanted to show you guys that you can achieve great results with a great grow light even without flower boosters. You can check my other diaries growing with the Rosa 400W and Rosette 200W. These lights are also killing it and they have around 2.7 umol/J efficacy.
Lights were drawing 590 Watts from the power outlet on the wall so I can say that the whole grow yielded more than 1.3 grams per Watt. These strains are not heavy yielders except the Chocolate Chunk but I only had one plant of this strain and she was the smallest plant in the tent. It didn't affect the total yield much. Pink Kush yields are pretty standart but the quality is exceptional. On the crossbreed strain, yield was slightly more than the Pink Kush plants and the yield from each strain is like below;
-Chocolate Chunk: 80 grams
-Pink Kush: 320 grams
-Purple Punch x Pink Kush: 360 grams
I made some COB's and also some kief and has with the trim. there wasn't much to trim in the end because I kept my plants in good shape. This was a joy to grow and now I have an amazing stash of high quality dried material stored in vacuum. I'm ready for another pandemic but I hope we won't have one 😅
Wish you the best of luck in your garden. Stay green 💪
