Day 3 of germination in a paper towel and I had a good taproot so I put them in soil. Now it is a race to see which plant breaks the surface. I germinated 2 seeds in a paper towel and 2 directly into the soil. Water was PH'ed to 6.4 for germination. Both the sets have been germinating in a dark environment, and have gone back in the dark till it breaks the soil.
Day 4: Two of the plants have sprouted. These two plants were germinated in soil. The other two plants that went into the paper towel went into the soil yesterday and are showing signs of sprouting.
Day 5: All four plants have sprouted and are looking healthy. The 2 that germinated in soil stretched a bit whereas the 2 germinated in the paper towel are much shorter. They are all now receiving water that is 6.7 ph.
Day 6: Not much to report. Both germination methods are showing first veg leaves. The soil germinated seeds look a little ahead of the paper towel method.
Day 7: The first set of leaves are starting to form. It should be a couple of days and then I will start the official veg cycle.
Week 2
Day 8: The seedling stage is well underway and they each got 10 ml of water with nutrients. By Sunday they should be well into their early veg stage.
Day 9: I have one plant where the leaves are pointing straight up.
Day 10: not much to show.
Day 11: They are moving ahead slowly. One of the soil germinated seeds has pulled ahead of the rest and is developing a good set of second leaves (cover photo).
You should start lst when the plant has 3 to 4 nodes if about don’t lst a overwatered/underwatered plant you want to train healthy plant especially autos can set them back happy growing
Today I moved two plants to their final pot (3.5 gal). Each of the plants has 2 nicely formed nodes. The root structure looked very strong. They were started in Pro-Mix HP and transplanted into the same medium. I just sprayed PH balanced water on the top of the soil to help them acclimate to the new pot. I still have 2 plants that have stopped growing so I am going to leave them in the seedling chamber till they get a little farther along.
Week 2 of veg and the plants are looking healthy and growing. It took the plants a good few days to get over the transplant shock. I understand now why you don't transplant auto-flowering plants.
Day 13 of Veg: The plants are looking healthy and producing new growth.
Some good growth this last week, both plants gained almost a full 2" in height. Looking healthy and I am away out before I can start LST. The strain we nicknamed Dr. Dale is an Indica. We got the seeds from a family member who has grown these many times.
I lost one of the 2 plants to sex. So I am down to 1 unknown strain plant in the tent. A little light LST and defoliation don't seem to have stressed this pant.
With a little lite defoliation and some LST she is doing well and looks very healthy. I started with four plants but 3 were pulled due to showing signs of male sex. However, that is what happens when you don't know the genetics of your seeds. I can tell you that this plant smokes really well and gives a great high. I believe that it is an Indica plant and it is an autoflower. I just don't know the strain.
