Second week complete.
My grow is already in motion, just learned about this site, figured I'd hop on the train before it had left the station.
Second week went well, the girls are getting nice and big. I set up the 3 gal pots with a mix of: pro mix hp, gia green all purpose 4-4-4, and grow green earth worm castings.
I water once a day with R/O water ph'd to 6.0-6.5. Light cycle is 18/6 and I'm keeping it that way for the entire grow since it's an auto.
The girls are grow well, getting very bushy. Not a whole lot of height though. I low stress trained them for a couple days but when I did I exposed the roots ( so maybe not as low stress as it should be. I was also just watering with R/O water ph'd to 6.0-6.5. I added calmag plus, to give them a bit of a boost but I may have over done it because ive noticed some brown spots on my fan leaves. Also my light was about 25" from the canopy. I raised it to 28" and I'll just water with plain old R/O ph'd to 6.0-6.5 for the next week to see if that fixes the issue. So far the brown spots are only on one plant.
I will top dress mid week with a mixture of gia green 4-4-4 and gia green bloom and worm castings.
This week went well, the girls started to flower halfway through this week. I exposed the bud sites by gently tying the bigger fan leaves down or folding them under the bud sites. I top dressed them about 2 days before they bloomed with gaia green all purpose and power bloom and some worm casting.
One of my plants hermed and I had to trash it.
I originally picked the nuts off with tweazer and tried to save it but the kept coming back and flower production was really low compared to the others. So I made the call and junked it. Sad days.
I think it's because of I stressed it out in preflower. I cut some fan leaves off of it 2 days before it flowered and I was careless with top dressing (i got fertilizer on the lower fan leaves and it started to kill them).
I just wanted to say it's my fault and not genetics.
The other girl is doing really well! Check out the pics.
Top dressed 2 days ago with power bloom and every other day I hit her with cal mag because my r/o water filter is a work horse that filters my well water to about 3 ppm.
This week went well, she's growing a lot.
Mostly focusing on LST and leaf folding to get light to those bud sites. I think I'll wait another week to defoliate and only when I need to.
So far so good.
Fed with Calmag plus mid week. Other than that its just R/O water.
Humidity is troublesome right now its higher than I want it and I dont want to get a small humidifier. I think i'm just going to move my big fancy one into the grow room and see what happens. My are intake is sucked through a carbon filter with a little 4" fan. Same for my outtake. So hopefully it'll just replace the humid air with the non humid air. I got pretty baked and came up with this idea so who know's.
Anyway, she's super bushy, i've continued LST throughout flower and it works great!
The pistol hairs are just starting to change colour. They look like they are going to take on an orange colour. I'm pretty excited:).
This week was pretty easy.
I am reluctant to top dress anymore with this old girl because of how the nutes release slowly but she still has a little time left so, I'm going to try my hand at making a tea this week.
So far sge's looking like she has everything she needs. Slightly burned tips on some of the leaves almost suggest a nitrogen burn, which doesnt really make sense because the last heavy nitrogen feeding was 2 days before flower (4 weeks ago).
I fed with calmag+ mid week.
I water until the pots are heavy and I give them water when the plants are light. I also top and bottom water. About 75% top and 25% bottom in the tray.
Just finished week 6 of flower.
This strain is supposed to take anywhere from 7-9 weeks of flower, so I'm just inside the threshold.
I didn't feed at all this week, just with R/O water.
Signs of a calmag deficiency are starting to become more prominent.
The trichs are still pretty clear and pistll hairs are starting to fox tail.
I think this girl is going to go to week 8 of flower.
But who knows. So much can change in just a week.
She's doing great, I defoliated a bit at the end of this week. Just the big fan leaves not connected to a bud sight. Any big fan leaf attached to a bud sight I bound. I just want to keep a clear line of sight to where I defoliated. These buds are so dense I can't see through to the stem.
Trichs are still glassy. No amber anywhere. Even the trichs on the fan leaves are still glassy. This wild goddess might be sticking around for a bit longer.
Defoliated I a little each day of this week to try and expose the lower bud sites.
She's doing well, most trichs are cloudy at this. I'll chop her down first sign of amber trichs.
Week 9 of flower is complete.
I'm going to leave her a little while yet. I'm waiting for sign of amber on the actual bud site. Even just 1 or 2 tichs then I'll chop her down. I almost flinched early on in the week but I managed not to act on the feeling thankfully.
So the week went fine. The Trichomes started to amber on the fan leaves and it was all nice and cloudy on the buds.
I noticed this morning that one of my other plants inside the tent was starting to grow some nanners and upon further inspection the whole plant (different strain) was effected. So I chopped this girl down this morning.
My grow room is set to 53-55 % RH and I plan on letting her slow dry upwards of 7-14 days.
Harvest post to follow.
P.s. sorry about the old pic, I cut her down without taking a picture first.
This was my first growth, so I don't have anything to base it on, but during germination on of the girls popped out with a seed stuck on her and I had to remove it surgically with tweezers. After that it was fine.
I stressed one of the plants out too much early flower and she hermed on me and I trashed her to save the rest.
My last remaining girl grew huge and strong. She responded very well to LST. I would grow again.
@Posted, honestly, I can't remember I just ordered them on amazon. I put the indica's in a 3 gal pot because they usually have a shorter grow time and the sativa's in a 5 gal because they generally have a longer grow time. In my mind it made sense at the time but I don't know if I would repeat.
