Today begins the grow-off!
Clones are at day 2 under their grow lights. They've got a little nute burn from their previous home and might have a little transplant stress, but otherwise seem to be doing well!
I am pitting two LED grow lights (both 100 to 110 watts, both "replacements" for a 250 W HPS) against one another to answer a few questions:
1, Do you truly get what you pay for with LEDs? I am testing a light on the higher end for home growers, the BloomBoss TrueSun 2x2 (MSRP $399) vs. the Spectrum King (MSRP $249). We'll see if the price point translates into higher performance and better results.
2. When it comes to LEDs, is mixed spectrum (blue/red/white) better, or are all-white LEDs the way to grow? The BloomBoss TrueSun 2x2 has the former, while the Spectrum King is the latter
3. Is the UV difference worth the price? The BloomBoss light is one of the few home grow lights with UV-A; curious if we'll see a discernible difference in potency, terpene/cannabinoid content and overall growth.
Full disclosure: I did receive both of these lights free of charge for the purpose of testing. That said - I am NOT employed by BloomBoss, Spectrum King, or any of the companies whose product I use. I'm running the side-by-side to be as scientific as possible and am doing my absolute best to keep all variables the same!
