Germination

Gromie This is my first grow! The seed was purchased from Nuke Heads. Germination started on 11/8, I left the seed in a shot glass of tap water in the tent. After about 36hrs it started to crack open and I transferred it to a pH soaked rockwool cube that was on a tray with pH water. The next few days I could see her popping out the cube.

Gromie I used 1/4 of MaxiGro by General Hydroponics for the first week. Had to get the hang of the humidity of the grow tent since it fluctuated basically every night down to 56%.

Gromie The grow seemed to be going well until I noticed some brown spots on the first true leaves ☹️ I figured out a day later it was a calcium deficiency. I didnt realize the significance of the nutrient guide that comes with the nutes lol 😅. I should have been using the Calmag along with the MaxiGro. So I added some Calmag, crossed my fingers and let her be. After a day I removed the damaged leaves and there didnt seem to be any spread to the larger fan leaves. She's getting strong stems and grows so much in just a day! 🤯 I also used half the recommended dose on the nute guide. I hope she's developing like shes supposed to at 3 weeks.

You can start now bro. Top them first and give them a week to recover from this before you apply LST. You can also top again down the line if you choose. Good Luck Bro 💪

Once you plant has 4 to 5 nodes you can start training if training auto make sure the plant is not underwater/overwatered and is healthy autos have a timer on their life due to ruderails so it can stunt growth affecting yield happy growing good luck 🍃🍃

Gromie I topped once this week & defoliated some large fan leaves touching the bucket. Toward the end of the week I noticed some leaf tip color changes and the large fan leaves were feeling pretty dry. I lowered the lights to 25% and raised it up 3 feet. Toward the end of the week I ended up defoliating a bit more because it just seemed really bushy. Im nervous about taking too much off 😕. I tucked some fan leaves under the others. It seems that those red training clips are a bit too rough. Today I did a complete water change. I used half the recommended dose of nutes & the Rapid Start dose is actually 1 tsp per 5 gal (not per gal). Now I'll have to see how she does for this coming week.

Gromie Last Sunday I increased the nutes so that the ppm was on the higher level (600-625) as the feeding schedule showed. Dec 9th I started to see some lime green (video) leaves on new growth. The ppm would go up mostly & down slightly, but the lime green spread & eventually turned yellow (last pic from today). I did a water change the other day & lowered the ppm/nutes to around 575-580 range. I've been reading around that this might be a sulfur deficiency? Some suggested adding Cal-mag. Today I added 2 ml more of Cal-mag & snipped some of the darker fan leaves that had some damage. I ordered epsom salt, waiting for it to arrive (tomorrow). Any other suggestions/diagnoses are welcomed! 😊

Gromie So this week I decided to add the Epsom salt for the suspected sulfur deficiency & after a few days, I think some green was coming back. The PPM kept rising during the week so I decided to adjust the pH to 6 like suggested. I ended up adding a little more water & I forgot to add some Cal-Mag. Some of the leaves started to have some brown spots. Yesterday I gave her a haircut, got rid of the majority of affected leaves & continued LST. Yesterday I switched out the nutrient water with pH balanced water. I've been using the powder form of nutrients (MaxiGro series) all this time & am thinking of switching to the General Hydroponics Flora series which is all liquid. Maybe that would make it easier for her/me? Maybe now would be a good time to switch since there's only pH water right now. I bought some Armor Si which I plan to add in when I start feeding soon. Also this is an autoflower, at week 6 I thought there would be some pre-flowering by now. But I'm guessing BC of the issues she's been having the growth is slow/stunted.

Gromie Started the new nutes a few days ago w/ epsom salt. Before that, for a day & a half, I used plain pH'ed water & trimmed off affected leaves. Such a slow grow 😕
