First RDWC grow!
Lots to learn, probably lots to fuck up as well. Let's see where this goes. Will follow Current Culture's RDWC schedule as well as I can.
Plants are doing alright, even under my crappy lights. Due to the summer heat, my water is warming up too. This might cause issues.
I snapped one stem trying to look at the roots in the net pot and bumping it into an overhead lamp. Tried to fix it with some tape but I don't have much hope. Put another seed in a rockwool cube to germinate in case this plant dies. It'll be two weeks younger than the others so I'll probably have to do some creative work with feeding schedules and training.
The Plagron Power Roots and Pure Zym are causing some foam in the water. Together with the temperature, I'm worried about root rot. Will stop using the organic Plagron nutrients and just stick to mineral for now.
Root rot :-(
Cut all the roots off. That'll stunt them for a while but it is what it is.
Also cleaned out the tank by rinsing it with a strong hypochlorite solution during a reservoir swap. Added a water chiller to the setup as well. Praying that this will do it. Will add Hydroguard beneficial bacteria from now on as well to combat the rot.
New roots are showing after a couple of days, looking healthy.
New roots are showing and are healthy. Cut off the sickly leaves and added some protective covers to the net pots to keep light from touching the nutrient solution, taped off all hoses and stuff as well.
Got my new grow light, pretty cool. Flowers are starting to show. Roots are super healthy with the chiller and Hydroguard. Switched from Plagron to DutchPro nutes.
Humidity is too high, added a small dehumidifier. Plants are doing well but one has some male flowers. Probably due to the root rot stress and quick flip to 12/12 after. Will try to keep this under control by removing pollen sacs.
Apart from the hermaphrodite, things are going well. Trying to keep an eye on the male flowers but I'm afraid I might miss some. Flowers are now also starting to develop in the middle of the leaves :-)
Changing reservoirs whenever pH becomes unstable. Usually after around a week and a half. Seeing some nice buds developing. Found a ball that exploded when I touched it. Going to cut this plant down probably to keep it from pollinating others completely.
