Decided to do a hash plant grow.
Green seeds hash passion resembles Moroccan hash plant. I can't find a whole lot about green seeds, possibly in house seeds from gtaseedbank?
Ethos hash plant is supposed to be a new and improved hash plant with high thc and a taste that resembles Afghan hash.
Will be running these genetics and see how they turn out.
Tossed 3 of each into water as they are regular seeds. Hopefully don't get all males, odds are I should have a female of each. See how she goes.
Update
T+6hrs - seeds have all sunken to the bottoms
T+12hrs - 66% (4/6) seeds are cracking open
T+48hrs - dumped them into paper towels drained excess water and stored above fridge, they should be ready to drop into soil in a couple days.
Ethos are ready to go, still only have one hash passion cracked open, squished one of the seeds to see if it would crack and split easier. Will see what happens.
Let ethos go a day longer than I'd like to. Tried to wait for green seeds hash passion. They do not seem to want to live.. put them into dirt anyways, see if they poke their heads out.
This is my 2nd time trying hash passion, same issue last time. Germination is terrible, but the temptation of a Moroccan hash block has me coming back again. This is their last shot to join my genetics stable.
Ethos are looking mint germination wise, honestly expected no less based on their reputation. Wish I had just planted them yesterday as they looked a little upset and had basically shed their hulls/shell/seed whatever its called.
Morning after going into soil ethos are pulling even further ahead. Pic added.
Ethos hash plant is pulling way ahead. They broke soil the day after they were dropped in.
Hash passion seems to be failing. Had one poke out a tap root and stop progressing. Both others didn't crack open. Not counting them out yet, dropped them in soil and will keep the soil moist and humidity up, see what happens.
Moved the seedlings into the mars 1600 tent for a few days, light is too high and at low power in the other tent to keep mothers alive, clones have rooted of those genetics and I will be clearing them out soon. Will move baby clones and these seedlings into mars tsl2000 tent shortly.
Ethos hash plant are doing well.
The Green seeds hash passion on the other hand have 0/3 breaking soil at this point. I dropped the last two into water. Hopefully something comes of it.. Thought maybe it was an issue with me when I bought these seeds last time.
Since then have had every seed but one (beaver seeds strawberry diesel had one not pop.) So with my recent 40:1 success to fail ratio since then I'm beginning to think it may be an issue with the seeds. (I have had 9 seeds fail, 8 of which were this specific strain, from this breeder, and vendor)
Will try to find a different source of Moroccan hash plant in the future.
Dec 26th Moroccan hash plants into water bottle
Dec 27th Moroccan hash plant seeds transferred into napkin in Tupperware
Dec 28th Moroccan hash plant seed 1 showed tap root, transferred to soil and placed in tote bin
Dec 29th Moroccan hash plant seed 2 cracked open slightly will give additional 24hrs-48 before transplanting to soil
Dec 30th Moroccan hash plant seedling 1 poked its shell out, the cotelydons still trapped inside. I carefully split the seed and removed the membrane around the seedling so it could spread itself out and start to grow.
Seed 2 of Moroccan hash plant looks to have stalled out at that stage (splitting with tap root slightly exposed), these seeds must be old or something. They just do not want to germinate. Either way I have tossed it into soil. Prepared for the worst, but I'll hope for the best.
Not impressed with these (green seeds hash passion) seeds.
Also reduced light intensity and lowered the light as far as power cord will allow.
Pictures added.
Ethos are growing nicely. Will be transplanting them soon, roots are poking out the bottom.
Green seeds hash passion are junk.. have tried two separate times. So far have 1/10 seeds that made it out of the soil.
The other strain I tried from Green seeds is currently 2/2 good to go. There is a good chance they are just old ass seeds.
Anyways. Will update again with pictures when I re-pot the ethos hash plant.
Jan 6th transplanted to half full gallon pots.
Pics of hash passion and the seedling that doesn't want to live added. Has barely shot a root out, started to do an investigation on it and noticed the tap root had grown 1mm or so in the last week. I had to crack open seed carefully with needle nose tweezers and a dental pick, managed to spread and remove it then puncture and peel off the inner membrane. Since then it has grown slightly greener, not sure it will survive, but I will keep playing with it, whats the worst that could happen.
They got overwatered transplant week, took a few days to recover, they had some lower growth show spotting and yellowing. They dried out and everything is back on track. Hit them with some ph'd molasses and calmag water (ethos plants, hash passion is still in a solo cup 2 weeks behind getting water when dry)
Everything else in tent is passed the seedling stage so I turned light intensity up to 50% now.
Transplanted the hash passion today into a 1 gallon. Will likely top the ethos hash next week, want to wait for it to grow a bit taller then will try to clone tops.
Update Feb 9th with new pics
Not a lot to update. They are starting to stretch their legs a bit will likely up pot to 3 gallon pots fairly soon with some freshly amended soil.
One is growing a little bit quicker and taller than the others. In my previous grows with other strains that usually ended up being a male plant but we will see eventually.
Update 18 Feb 22:
Plant 3 (shortest one growing in the middle) has shown her sex to me today. A small calyx with pistils reaching out has confirmed at least one female from the group.
Plants were all topped and the tops were inserted into rockwool cubes and placed in a heated dome. Hopefully have roots in a week or two.
Roots are growing out of the bottom of the 1 gallon pots time to transplant into 3 gals, will be tomorrow as long as nothing pressing comes up.
Ethos were topped and attempted cloning with what I removed. Not sure what results will be, they were smaller than I would normally cut clones, but wanted to top before transplanting, waiting for roots to see if they will make it.
Hash passion will be topped at some point in the near future. It is still 2 weeks behind since none of the original seeds made it..
Been busy with life, not much time to update. I finally got some room cleared out, transplanted hash plants into 3 gallon and moved to the mars 1600/4×4 tent.
Sorry all, been super busy.
Hash plants are all in 3 gallon pots, sitting under a mars hydro 1600 blurple. They will remain hanging out until I have some room free up.
Plants are still vegging in 3 gal, waiting for flower tent.
Ethos P1- is the taller longer internode spacing plant. It is about 6-8" taller than other 2 plants Ethos P2 and P3. Hash passion is still short and squat @ 17". A combo of being 2 weeks behind and getting less light from being a shorty made hear fall behind. Still looking nice and healthy and if it flowers and tastes as advertised it will likely be getting added to the rotation. (Have 2 more strains to pop and run after that will be running keeping 4-6 mother plants and rotating flower with 1-2 strains at a time)
The girls are running out of room waiting on the tangie cookies to flower out so they can get some more room.
Once flower tent is empty will up pot hash plant, Crescendo, and cbd and flower them out.
So after a whole schwack of bullshit going on in life and career plants grew way to big to flower. Cloned them and ran the clones 2 weeks veg, then flowered in 1 gallon pots (had no room since I was keeping the big girls alive to clone the favorites) had 2 phenotypes of ethos hash plant, 3rd was a male. Both finished @ 10 weeks
Same as other hash plant story. Shit happens. Cloned, vegged, was much shorter and wider than ethos. Finished up in 8 weeks. Trichome production was not incredible, but wasn't bad.
