48 hours in wet paper towel, after to the coco peat pellet. the pellets really expand, hydrate them first. I am not trying to be an example of coco medium, this is my first time working with it, diary for documentation. Once I had a good menu of nutrients I started to look at the coco. spent a good couple of weeks with free time to read about the coco, not as easy as prepared potting soil but a few have said it is good results once you get the hang of it. so i am set to go. I also have one seed from a retail cannabis package. It is from GAGE - Strawberry fire OG, Packaged AUG 2020, Purchased Sept 2021. One seed inside. I will see, it is in the wet paper towel at the moment. thanks and best to you's' day 7 from number one sprout: I am omitting the pH down 2 feedings now, little yellow tone in the first two seedling, going to balance straight forward from now on. number one seedling has now pushed up, ready for calmag tomorrow , number two is 7 days on thursday but looking like a good push start still a bit tall although straight. i will be rotating calmag - root booster for the first week of feeding. the pH down is a powerful concentrate, 6.5 to a hard 4 with a few drops in a 4L. wow! so I am using one 4L as a pH down to get a rusty orange (that is on pH water drops for the feedings). I have not tested but I think the root booster and calmag will pH down as is, so I am looking to pre-mix each in separate 4L. (20-12-21 4:20PM) ** interesting observation - I am used to wet paper towel to (as some say ) "pop the seed" which in my experience results in a tail like growth, (that is a few drops of water on seed between paper towel between saucers). but with a cup of slightly warmer than room temperature water covered in foil, the result was a seed split down the middle like a clam looks. ok thanks! - number three was germinated in cup of water.

Introducing to nutrients, Day I - Cal Mag and pH down, Day II Breakfast RapidStart, Dinner H20 + Stop Down. Day III H20 + Stop Down, The stop down is pretty strong, I put 3 drops in a 4L bottle and from there mix with water or nutrients, mixing for a 5.8 pH, the pictures are color edited, and saturation decreased. there is some yellow tone, but pictures don't do justice, not 100% if its the lamp distance or pH, I might discontinue rapid start, the cal mag combination does not get approval from this site nutrient success meter, I will have to consider this web site is fully equipped with such a feature, just noticed how it works. cal mag gets 100% success rate but one i entered the rapid start measurement the success rate dropped, might not be the best combination. i still have two seed, silly me I had a glade freshener in my paper towel germination cup board, cup of water will be future choice.

enjoying some holiday time to search through old Ska tunes, I found some original albums on archives.org < since the exodus UK cheese (1989?) has in the past been described to be from Sensi Skunk, I thought Ska was big in UK in 1989, so enjoying a connection between the music and the era. closet grow on-going as is last week.

im not sure they almost seem stunted? not able to get runoff pH and dont want to over water, runoff of samples of coco from pot show 6.5, same as water. Pictured clockwise; 12 o'clock - sweet pepper. 3PM - looks somewhat scruffy? 6PM - wow very yellow, 9PM - coming along ok, all standing on their own, little growth for 9 + days. but jimmy nardello is stead growing.

@No_Coast_Genetics yes i read all about salts, i washed one brick at a time in a large bucket = soak 30 minutes and rinse, three times each brick, and once the 5L pots was filled I did a improvised stop down type of buffer, with hopes the coco will stop down long term. yes i need a proper meter for coco pH. I keep going back to germination stage. in week 2 i describe how my seed and wet paper napkin was in a cupboard next to a laundry dryer fabric softener sheet. This might be why #2 plant is all yellow. might be an error on my part but now I have an understanding how seeds can be influenced. helps with directions for learning sessions.

i was told pH 5.9 so plants optimize nutrients absorption i always try my best to stop down to a greenish/ yellow to orange display with the dropper and sample tube. i have a concentrate stop down, i end up with pH 4 in a 4L and mix in a serving cup with pre mixed nutrients, so i am not over feeding because my two cal mag and root booster is both measured to moderate feeding amount. the stop down h2o is reducing meals amount.

plants were totally stressed out, I had a chance to have a chat with a gardener, they confirmed with me they have used gaia green top feed successfully with coco. So a considerable day later, my assumed failled attempt (having three yellow plants) soon came lush and green. Now a week or so after all purpose top feed, I have an unpopped and snipped stem of pollenation sacs about to burst now freezing and two plants looking ready to clap to the sky and green with hope. I know the celebrity snoop says "no sticks no stems ohh weee" but i might play god and see that frozen stem work with the buds once they begin to develop. all due respect.

im not exactly sure what to do, my opportunity to learn as i grow, continuing to feed the plants , going thru with preserving pollen sacs as each node develops, i plucked out what seemed to look like calyx, and added second 2 week dose of top feed, hoping there might be a stressed induced concentration , something different i read, just to see what happens, was sticky and strong skunk smell, today the plant has a pleasant smell and i am ok with the situation of my first closet set up. the pepper is looking good, lots of flower starting to emerge, i added the power bloom to sweet pepper, i see lots of flowers.

DAY *75 - maybe some would prefer a few days longer but i wanted to start trimming one by one, short stuff #1 should be trim by friday with todays ready to roll. the picture shows the top bud from tree #1, the rest is still growing. Plant #3 went yellow again, over a week and it was all the fan leaf, so i up the pH with spring water and can seriously see strong green re occurring in the leaf creases or veins. good to know about pH just a bit longer but wow *75 days? never knew until now.

7 days from 1st germinated seed planted, am pleased with indoor conditions tho #1 of 3 needs longer before nutrients, tall with small veg. coco pellets was good idea. 30c too hot 28c seem ok. want a timer. pH balancing makes me feel busy. small area, cramped when feeding, so far out of 8 brand seeds my germination to seedling is 100%. needs work with the complete cycle. pests in sweet pepper, might remove from location, only 1 of 4 sweet pepper seeds showing after 9 days, and is very tiny and in a couch position.
the end.
