Beans are in some paper towel and awaiting signs of life....🤞 40hrs after putting them in the paper towel they have about 1cm of root. Will wait until the cotyledons are free of the shell before putting them in some soil. 70hrs after being put in wet paper towel, the seeds have become seedlings and are ready to be put in soil. Following the instructions of master grower Shinsimilla, it is a 100% germination rate. Thanks boet.

First day in the soil. Germination took 70hrs (following Shinsimilla's technique). Minimal water given when transplanted. Seedlings are under a humidity dome. Air humidity in grow room is at 75% now but that will go up as I just switched on the humidifier 😆. Light is on low power, 18/6 light/dark cycle. LED 400w LM301B Samsung diodes. %RH 75-80. Babies are doing great after D4. Temp and humidity seems to be keeping stable at around 28⁰C and about 78-80%RH. It's close enough to where I want it for the VPD at this stage. End of week 1 and they are happy and eager for life. Third set of leaves appearing on seedling nr.1. Lovely fat and healthy leaves so far. I've taken the humidity dome off on D5 and kept the humidity up and did not notice any stress on the plants. I did keep an eye on the humidity/temperature levels to make sure I stay in the ideal VPD range for the seedlings. Watered them for the first time on D7. Pots were very light when picked up. Put them in a saucer with water and left for about 10min to soak up what they need. Fingers crossed week 2 goes as smooth.

Girls are growing up fast! Seedling nr.1 is doing super well...apart from the possible leaf miner I found when I was taking the photos. Couldn't see any signs of it still being in the leaf (used the light to light up the leaves from below and did not see anything solid.). Squished the leaf a bit to squash anything inside just in case... Seedling nr. 2 is making progress as well. A bit slower than nr. 1 but she's alive and looking happy. D11. Gave them some water again. Water in a saucer and let them soak up for about 10min. They are showing no signs of stress and are growing quick. Increased the light intensity to about 35/40%. Doing that raised the temperature to roughly 30⁰C during the on cycle. RH% is sitting at about 80 so it's in the ideal VPD range. I'd like to bring the temperature down a bit tbh so I can drop the RH% down and still keep the ideal VPD. Want to minimize risk for any issues associated with the high humidity. Will see what the temp/RH% does when I push the light intensity to 60%. I'll probably need to get my DIY aircon system going.

Babies are doing well apart from what looks like nitrogen deficiency. Decided to put them in their forever home a bit earlier than planned. Wanted to wait until they were about 3 weeks old before transferring them to the big pots but hey, when the plant is telling me they want/need more nutes, then I guess I'll have to listen 🙃. I did the transplant just as the lights went off (waited about 30min) so they have a few hours to settle before they wake up again. Checked the next morning and leaves are all up and doesn't look like they suffered any stress. I added some Rootblast in the soil and some epsom salts (super light mix - I mean like a few crystals in a 1ltr bottle). I watered 500ml per pot and only around the perimeter of the pot. The soil in the pot is already moist enough so I don't need to saturate it with water. Will be making some FPJ, FFJ and LAB over the weekend for the girls. Happy growing homies 🌳💪💪😎 D17. Added a mulch layer and watered about 300ml per pot just to get the mulch and top layer of soil a bit wet. D21. Had my days all mixed up on the photos 🤦‍♂️...D17 was actually D19, my bad.... Girls are looking good at end of week 3. Will start the feeding schedule in a day or two. I want them to settle a bit more in their new home first.

Defoliated the girls a bit after doing the LST. Removing some of the big fan leaves that are blocking the light to the lower branches. Watering is still on a minimum - I water them 1 litre every 2-3 days. Haven't seen them stress at all.

Girls are doing amazing. Responding super well to the LST. I have had to adjust them almost daily. Started LST on #2, she's still a bit lagging behind #1 but not showing any signs of stress or deficiencies. She's just a slow grower I guess. I have added some FPJ and FFJ to my watering schedule (1ml/ltr). Also added a minute dose of seaweed, kelp and aloe juice. I topped the first branches on the top main branches to help the lower branches catch up and hopefully get a more even canopy. We've had a couple of hot days recently but it seems not to affect the girls too much. They are vigorous and going strong. Happy growing homies.

Girls are doing great. The topped branches on plant nr.1 are starting to grow, sure they'll be big in no time. Watered with some FPJ in the mix. Checking the soil moisture everyday and water accordingly (watered twice in the week- about 1litre/plant). Temperature wise it was a bit hot this week as we had a few hot days but today it's raining and a bit cooler. I kept an eye on RH and adjusted my humidifier to compensate for the warmer days, trying to keep em in the ideal VPD takes constant monitoring. The LST is going well and needs adjusting all the time. Defoliated quite a bit as well. Removed most of the big fan leaves so the light can reach the lower branches and tidied up the underside of both plants to allow better airflow. Found a little spider making it's home between the branches. I don't mind them in my grow room as they catch unwanted bugs but I don't want them inside my plants making webs all over the place so unfortunately she had to go. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my diary. Happy growing!

Another solid week for the girls. Trying to get the canopy as even as I can using the LST method. There's quite a few pipe cleaners holding down the branches. Most of them hidden by the foilage. I might try the scrog method on the next grow. Will see how it goes with this one. Only thing I don't oike about the scrog method is you can't really get to the bottom of the plants once the netting is in (at least with the setup that I've got). I'll play around with it and see if I can make it so there is a gap for me to work through. Happy growing!!!

Ladies are still going strong. Defoliated this week to get the light to the lower branches and hopefully get the canopy more even. So many bud sites, and already taken off a lot of branches (some have gone to the cloning chamber - hopefully they all root 🤞). Haven't noticed any problems with the girls, they are looking happy and healthy. My only issue is that they are very squat. I have been training them to grow more sideways than what they normally would, but was hoping they'd be taller by now. I've turned the light down so hopefully with less intense light they stretch a bit.

Girls are recovering well after the defoliation last week. Almost have to defoliate again 😃. Girls are looking happy and are getting hungrier. Luckily haven't spotted any issues yet and the bugs seem to be staying away this time round.

Noticed some Mg deficiency on plant 1. Just started creeping in. Haven't seen any signs on plant 2 but I fed them both some epsom salts just in case. Other than that, the girls are doing well. Growing very bushy though, will do some experimenting with the light intensity to try to get them to stretch a bit.

Girls seem to be recovering well after the Mg feed. I have dimmed the light to about 25%. The girls are starting to stretch a bit more but not really doing what I want. They are slow to get taller. Will see how the next few days go..might drop the intensity even lower.

Some more LST done this week. They weren't stretching much so I lowered the light intensity even more (roughly 10%). Girls seem to be reacting more to the lower intensity light and stretching a bit more like I want. They also seem to be growing faster (judging by the bright green leaf colour). 🍃

Yesssssss! Girls are reaching for the light now and getting a bit more internodel spacing. Stoked. They are filling up the space fast. Done some more LST to give the lower section a bit more light. Will be flipping to flower end of the week. Can't wait to see how they go....

First week of flower done. Girls are looking super happy and are going strong. I fed them with a very light mix of FPJ and some fish and seaweed mix. Next feeding will include some banana FFJ. I have removed all the lower branches and leaves, only keeping the top 3 nodes (on some I left a few more). At the end of the first week, they are stretching a bit and really filling up the space. Hopefully they won't be stretching too much.

Excellent week for the girls. Nothing major to report, other than finding thrips 😡😡😡. Can't spray anything now as the girls are starting to bloom. Will have to keep them under control.

Another week of battling thrips. This is week 3 of flower. Girls are starting to slowly push out beautiful flowers. This is where I really struggle with patience...i want them to start flowering and then be ready the next day..don't need this weeks of waiting 😄....oh well .good things come to those who wait.

Pheno2 is doing some weird shit. I have been feeding/watering them the same. Pheno 1 seems unaffected. I am suspecting that nr 2 is a heavy feeder and it is a nutrient deficiency, however, I cannot suss out what is lacking. I'm not overly concerned as they will be harvested in the coming days. I've got a few clones of both phenos and will be flipping them to flower soon. Will compare the two and see if it is a trait of this particular one or if it's a deficiency.

Excellent strain to grow! Super easy and excellent resistance to disease - I had no issues apart from some thrips moving in. The terps are sweet and this particular strain kicks hard. I grew two phenos of the Chiqiuta Banana. Plant 1 grew a bit slower than nr.2, however, it grew less leaves during the flowering stage and was much easier to trim. Will be cloning some more of her for round 2.
