Nothing much to say, really. Most of the girls popped out, got rid of their shells, and they are ready to take over the world. This is the worst period of growing. I just keep everything moist, cover them with a dome and wait for the seventh day, when I'll be finally able to feed them for the very first time. On the other hand, I have time to prepare the pots.
So, let's talk about those while we wait. I really want to prove my point here, that growing weed doesn't need to be super expensive. So, I am gonna use some empty buckets, some plastic bottles etc. Like the title says, this is a perlite run and I mean only perlite. No vermiculite whatsoever. There is nothing wrong with that, but not necessary.
But why perlite? 1, Natural b, Cheap and 4th, You can re-use.
The hempy pots gonna look the same. A small hole approx an inch above their bottom, and that's it. Then I just fill it up with perlite /after a pre-wash/. Plain and simple. Make sure, that the excess water is able to leave, but the perlite stays inside.
However. Consider a few things before trying this method out. After your plants achieve a significant height /and weight/, you might run into some troubles. Yes, your pots might fall over.
So, to avoid this issue, you can use a pair of bricks, bamboo-sticks, some 2x4 plywood, pretty much anything to support your pots. I don't know about your setup, but be creative, use whatever you got on hand. Too late, because you already made them weak? Just pour some gravel on top.
My idea was to put smaller rocks with gravel into the bottom of my pots, because a plastic bottle really cannot carry a whole lot of weight I made sure that they are clean.
My buckets should be fine, tested them before. I'll do my best to share some pictures later just to show how simple it can be and have great results still. Yes, you can spend thousands on your setup, but having the best kit will not guarantee anything.
Anyway, I'll just update photos whenever I feel to, but see you next week when this season will finally kick in.
If you have any questions or funny insults, feel free to comment.
Best to all ya. Peace, love, and don't be a c*nt.
Update: They stretch like hell, so I lowered my lamp. Sorry about the pictures, my camera really doesn't like the blue light from the LED, it has a hard time focusing correctly. Once they are in the tent I'll be able to make better-looking pics, hopefully. This is the 6th day, I gave them a minimal dose of fertilizer (2 ml cal-mag, 1 ml of coco A+B per liter). It's like half of the recommended dose. I am gonna place them into pots tomorrow. Most of them at least.
