Week 1 of bloom is in the books. It was pretty uneventful as week 1 of flower tends to be. For this particular plant, stretch seems to be pretty minimal. I’ve released her from the bondage of her training ties and I’m letting her spread her wings.
I thinned out some of the larger fan leaves and some of the lower growth tips that weren’t exposed to light. You’d never know by looking at her, especially from the top. This lady really just wants to be a bush. The speed with which she fills in any gap of space with massive, hand-sized fan leaves is pretty impressive.
There are some side branches that are filling in the middle of the canopy and I’m currently debating whether or not to remove them. I’m kind of waiting to see how the stretch continues, because I don’t want to eliminate flower sites that will increase yield. At the same time, I want to see the mains really plump up. Decisions, decisions…
I’ll be back with another update in about a week.
