Just put these girls under the mars hydro sp3000 compared to the cheap led that was barely keeping them alive. They have all been transplanted in to larger pots around the end of week 2 and have seen an increase of growth with the new light. The goal is to fill in the tent while keeping the height low before sending them into flower at a max height of 16 inches from topsoil.
Really slow growth for the first couple of weeks after transplant and some issues with nutrient uptake, overwatering, and light intensity. Last two weeks most of the issues are resolved and growth has been better. I will probably veg for another 3 weeks or so before installing trellis net for a SOG before sending into flower. Jillybean 1 and 2 are already showing pistols. All plants had really dense growth and should really respond well to today's training. Honestly this photo run seems to be taking to long and will likely be running autos in this tent after this run.
Today I was finally able to install the scrog net and get these girls all laid out. I was able to get the height of the plants around 8-10" high from the pot and most of the space is taken up with branches. Also decided to flip into 12-12 light cycle right after the scrog. I will probably make adjustments this next week and then let them flower up. Excited to get this run turned around and start more auto flowers in this tent.
Decided to get rid of the weird jillybean pheno that had been struggling all along. Made room for the plants that were healthy. Then somehow it go too humid and then not enough water so the plants have been stressed. Despite that, the jillybeans look like they are about to preflower, and SOW still hasn't shown pistols or any sex signs. Urgently waiting to see pistols because it is a mystery seed. Only time will tell!
Edit: two days later SOW is showing the slightest sign of pistol hairs
Growth of flower sites are filling in and starting to pop pistol hairs more every day. Just trying to keep the plants well watered and conditions about the same. Don't need environment fluctuations messing me up anymore. Still some crispy leaves I am pulling off every day since last week's under watering. Looking like they are on the mend and need to focus on producing flowers now!
Despite underwater on another grow, these seem unaffected with a similar water schedule. All three ladies are showing their bud structure now with the jillybeans being clear Indica stains and the Sleeve of wizard with strict sativa structure. All starting to smell a lemony skunk and pouring crystals onto the fan leaves. Happy with how this tent is coming along!
The girls got more water this week to keep up with bud development. Also fed more kelp meal, fishbone meal, and worm castings early in the week. Should be the last feeding for the girls, but will have to see how far along each strain is. Jillybean seems to be ahead of the SOW, and will likely finish a few weeks before the SOW. Tent smells like juicy fruit and makes me smile every time. Canopy is very even and I am happy with scrog results, as well as keeping the height low. Everything going to plan and feeling pretty good about this grow finally...
Super pleased will the this grow. Nugs are looking plump and smell so juicy when I open the tent. Definitely a difference between the two jillybean phenos with #1 being short and compact and loaded with trichs and #2 being a bit stretchy and producing more cone shaped bud with a more orange color. Sleeve of wizard is smelling citrusy and diesel and love the purple color this is putting out. A small amount of pollen sacs from this one, but pruning them as they produce. Likely too late in the grow to be worried about seeds developing. Plan on harvest for 420! Will be the middle of week 9-10 of flower!
Photos take a ton of time, and really leaning into the autos now. I've harvested two auto flower grows in the time it took to flower these girls. overall the end result was really good, but not sure if it's worth all the extra time and resources. Time will tell when the buds cure up! Really loved both of these phenos!
Growth was pretty consistent and responded well to the high stress training and major defoliation, and all the issues early on with pH and lighting. The longest plant I've grown out as I started this plant from seeds about the 7 months ago.
Really exceeded my expectations for a bag seed from a dispensary. Strong genetics and lovely color expression. We will see how the smoke is but nug size could have been better. If flavor is there, it will make up for it!
