12-27 ~3:00 pm placed 2 seed s in to glass of water and sat on router in dark closet. will wait 12-18 hours for the seeds to sink and break open. then will place in paper towel for initial root 12-28 ~9:00 am pulled out and put in between sheets of damp/wet paper towels in between two saucers to keep in humidity and placed back on router in dark closet. seeds did not look "cracked" but did drop to bottom 12-29 ~8:00 am jh seeds are just barely cracked open. paper towels still pretty moist. will check a couple of times today looking to see if enough tap is out to plant directly in to target 3 gallon fabric pots with ocean forest soil. 12-29 ~12:30 am jh seeds = no noticeable change 12-30 ~10:00 am the 2 jh seeds had cracked open . one with noticeable root, the other barely coming out. planted in same pot of already wetted soil - a 3 gallon fabirc pot with fox farms ocean forest. light set at 100% at 36inches above pot. 77 f and 55% humidity 12-30 seeds in the dirt. vpd running at about 1.4 , gonna be tough to keep it near where it should be. 12-31 3:00 pm seeds not popped out of soil yet 01-02 5:00 pm 1 of two broke soil and starting its next journey 01-02 no change 75 71 0.87 - light water around seed location 01-03 no change 64 60 0.81 - light water around seed location 01-04 no change 57 54 0.71 - seedling looks fine, pretty small, but growing slow. light water around seed location - dropped light to 16 inches from 30. is at 50% - outside door was cracked, and it was snowing day before, think lost some heat. fixed 01-05 "nursery bottles" removed. 1 seed popped an looking pretty pitiful so far, The other seed is a no show. 01-06 66 69 0.67 still growing. looks a bit "mutated" and definitely a runt so far, wondering if due to too much water from the germination bottles. prob do simple dome/humidity covers next time. the bottles probably keeping too wet. still no sign of the second seed. calling her doa. "nursery bottles" = wine bottles turned up in terracotta funnel. They sort of leach water in to the soil as it dries ... keeping it moist. Thinking they might be keeping the soil too wet, so prob wont use next time. instead jsut simple tried and true cover for humidity at this stage, and gentle watering. target for the seeds: 3 gallon fabric pot with 1 or two same type seeds depending on if they sprout Fox Farms Ocean Forest Soil single Spider Farmer SF1000 ~100w led - 36" height at 100% Vivosun 36x20x63 tent Grow space currently running at around 80 f and 45% ~= 1.7 vpd , will try to get to .6-.8 vpd, but the space is going to be hard to manage that well

Pulled runt sis to a solo

Should I give up on her , and start another ? Two 3 year old crop king jack herer seeds were germinated in water plu paper towel. The both cracked and 1 had about half inch tail, the other less than quarter. The smaller never broke ground, but this one came on up. But, she rough!

Don't give up, you got this. If its alive keep on going. I share the same feelings with @GrowCN, on the paper towel method, the baby root can easily be damaged if its left in it to long. and if you plant them after the roots an inch long there greater risk of transplant shock. Glass of water and scarification is good, then directly plant in the medium. I only soak for 12 hrs just in case, don't wan't it to drown. Beneficial microbes are a great addition to them as well. Helps ward of early disease. I have seeds that are 5+ years old. if you store them right they will pop. Best of Luck and Keep on growing

01-24 57 56 0.88 added 1 cap of cal mag to 500 ml water and added 01-25 69 47 1.29 looking better after the previous days cal mag and water, still light but more consistent and less bad 01-25 using uncalibrated cheap ph meter, saw that the tap water i'm using is reading only 5.9 ... so prob need to bump that up. Also moved fans. Also got temp up over 70 01-26 71 43 1.45 added 1 cap grow big to 500 ml water. Did a small clip as a fim. Looking better but still a little light 01-27 67 40 1.37 no water. still a little light but holding better color. seems mostly healthy . pics to come later 01-28 69 37 1.55 added 1 cap cal mag and 1 cap grow big to 500 ml water. keeping light at around 20 inches above 01-29 70 43 1.46 01-30 61 36 1.21
