D0: Filled the glass with water and let it rest overnight to evaporate the chlorine D1: [23° 62%] Dropped the seed to the water and put it in a closet to rest. The temperature there is more stable than outside since there is a cold front arriving so the temperature is falling. Prepared the soil with all the organic fertilizers and put it in the 7L container to rest till the transplantation day. Let some space to put the inert soil later when transplanting the germinated seed to reduce the shock it would have in a rich soil. Also prepared a liquid solution of NPK 20-5-20 with solid crystals so that they dissolve in case I need to bump the nutrients during veg phase. It's currently at 526ppm. D2: [25.8° 79%] After 20h resting in the water, moved the seed to the moist paper tower and will check again in about 12h. Put a cotton coat around the box to keep it dark and improve the temperature stabilization since today got colder and the temperature is fluctuating a little bit. The water coming out of the soil mixture is 464ppm and the liquid nutrient solution is still at 526ppm. Added some more NPK to the solution to elevate it a little bit more. D3: [21.6° 92%] 24h since moved the seed to the moist paper and no signs of any radicle. The temperature dropped and I am worried that this is too close to the lower range for germination. Looking into a way to put a light bulb to warm the box a little bit till the cold front passes. The run off water from the soil mixture is at 528ppm and the liquid nutrient solution is now at 773ppm. Added a small amount of NPK to the solution to try to reach 900ppm. D4: [21.3° 93%] 48h since moved the seed and no signs of radicle. Getting anxious and worried that the low temperature is messing my germination. Soil run off water at 395ppm and liquid nutrient solution at 873ppm. D5: [21.4° 90%] 72h and no radicle. Freaking out. Trying to keep the box close to the light bulb to warm it up. It is now getting to 25-27° and I will try to keep it during that range over the day. The weather is predicted to warm tomorrow and forward so I hope I wont need this workaround anymore. I tried my best to keep the seed at total dark in this new setup but I am now worried that any light might be leaking in because of the near light bulb. The soil run off is at 559ppm and the liquid nutrient solution is at 943ppm. D6: [- -] Have changed the setup to polystyrene box and warmed water to keep the temperatures around 27°. Took a lot of measures during the day and the temp was always in the range 25-29°. Still no signs of germination. Stopped taking measures of soil and liquid solution since they are around the targeted values. Will get back to that when I get a germinated seed. D7: [- -] The new setup is way better and the measures were always in the range 25-29°. Still no signs of germination. Gonna put the seed in the warm water for a couple of hours to soft the shell again as a last resource. Feeling really low right now since this is the first attempt 😞 D8: [- -] No success with the first seed. Losing my hopes there. Added a second seed to the water cup to start all over again. Bought some mineral water to use instead of the tap to see if it makes any difference. Also added some drops of peroxide as recommended by some growers to help in this initial phase. The weather is now hot and the temperatures all day are around 26-27° so I dont need to worry about warming the box anymore. D9: [- -] Left the second seed all day in the water glass. Kept adding water to the first seed paper towel but no success. D10: [- -] Will let the second seed all day in the water glass and check on evening. Moved the first seed back to a new water glass with peroxide too as a last attempt to germinate her. Feeling beated 😵 D11: [27° 63%] FINALLY HOPE! I checked my second seed last night after around 36h in the water glass and it was already with a beautiful tail! Moved to the paper towel for the night to grow a little bit more. This morning I checked again and it was ready to be moved to the soil 😍 I am really happy and revigorated now. Have taken some pictures of the setup to start again the daily checks. Let's see how this strong beauty is going forward. Moved the first seed to a some coconut water after staying in the peroxide water overnight. Some growers shared that the nutrients in the coconut water might "revive" old seeds and might be a shot before giving up.

D12: [22.7° 80%] Today I have removed a little bit of the top of the soil because I feel I have planted the seed too deep. I can already see it's top coming out and I am feeling really good about this! The first seed still no luck after all tries =/ guess this is a lost cause. D13: [24.5° 73%] Today this little beauty is already out and fighting the shell to sprout it's leaves. It is already 2.5cm tall! I will start measuring the temperature during midday too to get a better daily values average for the week since during the morning it's still chill from the night. I will check the first seed at night but I have no hopes =P D14: [22.9° 78% am] [26.3° 61% pm] On top of the morning measures (am) I started taking temp around 13:30 when the temperatures are the highest of the day too (pm). Today the plant is already 5cm tall and I had to gave her a little help to remove the seed shell since it was still stuck in the first leaves. No luck with the first seed so I will stop posting updates about her... RIP my dear. I got my little lady today for a quick 15min sunbath - at around 217k lumens - and then put some coverage so that she doesn't get burn from the sun. The soil probe is stating the soil is still wet so I just added some water around the center to keep it moist. D15: [22.6° 74% am] [29° 53% pm] Today this little beauty is already 7.3cm tall. I started taking some poor measures of light intensity during the day using my phone to check if she is receiving enough light. During morning it is in the range 600-3000 lumens and during afternoon when the sun hits the balcony hard it gets around 40k under the protection coverage and 250k with direct sunlight. Since the last I think is too strong for her first week I am giving her 15min everyday and then putting under coverage where the intensity is more pleasant. Today I added 1L of water to the 7L pot and the soil run off was at 195ppm. I have also added a very very small quantity of liquid nutrient around the center before watering, something like <5ml@190ppm to add some nutrients to the inert initial center soil. D16: [23.9° 76%am] [26.1° 67%pm] Today I let her get a 15min sunbath. Since she is still young and fragile I don't want to let her stay a lot under this hot sun. D17: [24.3° 76%am] [29° 62%pm] I noticed that she grew a little little bit since yesterday. She is now 7.5cm tall and 2.5cm wide. I am letting her stay under coverage during day because the sun is really strong and it is getting really hot (over 35° under the sun). D18: [23.7° 72a%m] [30° 55%pm] Today I have added a little bit (<5ml) of 190ppm NPK liquid solution to the soil. After that I added 1L of tap water. The run off water is at 210ppm which I think will be really good for her during these two first weeks. D19: [24° 72%am] [pm] I added some (<10ml) liquid base nutrient solution (Ca Cu Mg Mn Fe Zn Co Na2MoO4 H3BO3 Na2SeO3) to the soil preparing her to thrive on her second week. She is now 7.5cm tall and 3.5cm wide and her leaves are starting to get bigger. This is the last day of the first week and I am really proud of her growth.

D20: [23.4° 76%am] [28.2° 63%pm] The soil meter still showing the soil is wet. I am adding 60ml of water around the center to ensure she is getting water since I don't know if the roots are already deep to the point the meter measurer the moisture. I am letting het get morning sunbath since the temperatures are lower that time and I can leave her for more time than with direct sunlight in the middle of the day. D21: [22.7° 77%am] [24.3° 74%pm] Today a rainy week is starting. I am sad that she will not be having those sunbathes anymore for sometime 😞. She is getting bigger everyday, she is now 7.7cm tall and 4.2cm wide. I noticed that some small insects are living in her pot and will research about those to see if they are harmful. D22: [21.4° 79%am] [23.2° 78%pm] I found out that the insects look like fungus gnat and I should not let them be there. I started killing them with my hand when I see them and also prepared some home made trap with water, sugar and apple vinegar near the pot. I also added some cinnamon powder to the soil and I will let it dry one or two more days before adding more water to try to kill it's eggs. My lady is getting more beautiful everyday. I have added a small led bulb I have to help with the light since the day is really cloudy today. Added 30ml of ~200ppm liquid nutrient solution around the center. D23: [21.1 81%am] [23.5 74%pm] Those fungus gnat are really annoying. I have bought some mosquito traps and neem oil to treat them. Waiting for it to arrive. In the meantime killing them manually every morning and midday. Will wait till tomorrow to water her. D24: [21.4 79%am] [23.1 78%pm] Added 1 liter of water at 370ppm and 500ml of pure tap water after the first 1l. This week is rainy and humid so the soil is taking really long to dry. I need to be careful with not letting her without water waiting for the bottom to dry. D25: [22.7 79%am] [25.9 73%pm] Still fighting those fungus gnat, I am killing a lot of those but everyday more grow from the eggs 😭. I hope the neem oil arrives fast. Also today there was a really strong rain and the wind that came before it was really really strong. By the time I got to her she was almost laying down in the pot. My heart stopped for a moment but after bringing her inside and pressing the soil around her a little bit she got up and is looking fine. D26: [21.9 81%am] [24.5 75%pm] The last day of her second week. I am really proud of her and I think she is really beautiful and strong. Not quite as big as I was expecting after seeing other people grow diaries but I think the conditions are really different from a growing tent, etc. So I am okay and really happy with her. The new leaves are already developing and I think they will be really nice by the end of this third week.

D27: [22.2° 77%am] [25.9° 71%pm] Today I am adding 50ml of water at 400ppm of NPK liquid nutrient solution to start this new week with some bump of nutrients and to wet the soil a little bit. The probe is still showing wet since last big watering so I am not adding that much more water. The weather is still cloudy and not that much sun. I miss those sun bathes she was having. D28: [22.8° 78%am] [24.5° 75%pm] Even without the sun she is getting bigger everyday and the new leaves are coming out one after another. The mosquito traps and neem oil are still in transport and I am killing those insects manually everyday. D29: [24.2° 76%am] [32.7° 59%pm] Today I added 150ml@450ppm water around the center to moist the soil. The probe only picks the deep soil values and I was worried that the top part was already too dry. D30: [24.4° 75%am] [30° 57%pm] Finally the mosquito traps arrived yesterday during afternoon and I already set one up for overnight. I have added the close picture of the mosquitos getting caught in it. I am really loving it LOL. I have also made the solution with neem oil and sprayed around the soil during this morning to combat the early stages of the fungus gnats. Lets see how effective this will be during next couple of days. She is now passed 9cm tall and I am really proud of her. She is really beautiful and her leaves are nice colored and shaped. D31: [23° 77%am] [23° 76%pm] The weather is really bad this week and almost all day cloudy with no sun. I am worried about her not getting enough light. Anyways, the fungus gnat is reducing abruptly. I wouldn't expect the neem oil to be that effective and I am really happy that I bought it. Today I added 300ml@450ppm around the center to moist the soil. D32: [21.2° 75%am] [25.2° 67%pm] Today I could let her get some direct sun during afternoon and I feel she really liked it. The soil is drying out and I think tomorrow I will feed her some more water with nutrients. D33: [20° 70%am] [25.3° 55%pm] Today I could let her get some morning sunbath and maybe during afternoon we will have more sun. [spoiler, it didnt =(] I have fed her with 900ml@450ppm and the soil is now all wet. I think I will only need to fetch more by the end of next week based on previous weeks. Lets see how it goes. Today is the last day of her third week and I am really proud of her development. I have made a side by side picture to show her progress =)

D34: [19.7° 70%am] [26.6° 52%pm] Today looks like we will be having a full sunny day. I think that will be really good for her. She is now 10cm tall!! What an achievement. I am really happy for her and waiting to see how she will develop this next week. D35: [21.3° 69%am] [27° 52%pm] [IMPORTANT NOTE] Thins got a little crazy at work and I stopped updating detailed information here as I was doing. On top of that I felt like my beauty was not going to thrive because she was too small and I lost the hype 😬. But she managed to keep evolving and I am updating the information retroactively, but with less info than before. Also, after the 2 weeks of no sun here where I live I decided to buy a cheap LED grow light to help on those days in future. Since it comes from Chine it will take some time. I have lost my hype because I think those 2 weeks with poor light "damaged" my first grow =(. But well, she kind of got over it and is now (10/03) looking quite good but still small. Lets see how it goes ;) D36: [21.7° 71%am] [32.5° 60%pm] D37: [22.5° 67%am] [26.5° 60%pm] D38: [22.4° 74%am] [28.2° 45%pm] I did some LST to see how it works in practice 😅 My dear also started a very very little smell. It is sweet and really nice to taste. D39: [24.2° 65%am] [26.8° 62%pm] D40: [22.7° 66%am] [26° 58%pm]

Would you be alright with me offering you some generalized pointers & advice to help you out? So cannabis plants LOVE heat and humidity. It is the buds that hate it, Early in veg we want nice warm temps like 79-84 MAX with lights on and no more than 9 degrees less with lights off. If we allow for too much of a temperature swing between lights on and lights off this will encourage our plants to stretch more than we want them to. So we try to keep those gaps in temperature tight through veg and early flower. When our plants are small, So are their roots. When our plants first start out in seedling stage or young plant stage they generally grow fairly slow because of this. If we introduce some humidity into the environment for the leafs to supplement the roots with some foliar intake we can speed ourselves along through this stalled-out stage of growth. The humidity of 60-70% works great for the first few weeks. If you do not have a humidifier get one they are just as important as dehumidifiers for growing. In the meantime you can also use a bucket full of water with no lid on it will passively raise the humidity up fairly well. as you are in flower now it is not important but for the next time something to think about for sure. When we are in flower how our buds develop is largely based off our temperature control of the room. If we grow our buds too high of temps we will get huge big buds but they will be very airy and prone to foxtail. You will also lose out on a lot of cake, If we grow them too cold we get extremely dense nugs and very caked but lose out on a lot of size. Density + size is what we want for our weight to be right. Temperature ranges of around 77-80 MAX with lights on and again no more than 9 degrees less with lights off. Once our plants finish their vertical growth by weeks 4-6 of flower depending on strain and with autoflowers you watch for it by eye, Once this happens now we want to begin to widen our temperature gaps between lights on and off to beyond 10 degrees less and a bit more each week until harvest. This will now instead signal the plant to put extra energy into the budding and resin production. Using light deprevation in the last 2 weeks to simulate cloud cover works well & doing a really cold feed on your last flush before pull down works great too. These are all enviromental triggers to cause the plants to react genetically as to produce the desired traits we wish to draw out of them. Check out something called Vapor pressure deficit & how it relates to growing cannabis. All new growers should familiarize themselves with it and learn to use a VPD chart and log their rooms numbers every day. If you do not have them yet get yourself a PAR meter and a thermal laser temp gun like the fluke 62 MAX to better read your plants needs and grow to them. If you should need any help please feel free to ask, Just follow my growdiaries profile & shoot me a message! I am currently producing a youtube tutorial series for all levels of growers to utilize. If that interests you hop over to our channel and subscribe to support us. My channel is linked off my grow diaries profile!
