Its a late start for this journal. Seeds were put to germinate on Christmas day. 15/15 grew tails. My plan is to grow the best 3 from each strain. The Strawberry Cheesecake is a newer Barney's Farm strain.
These should be fun to grow, I've only grown autos once for my first indoor grow.
I topped the 3 in the 3 gallon bags at the 3rd node and removed the 1st nodes. The others will remain untopped and are in 2 gallon grow bags. The first nodes have already been removed from most. These pics are from yesterday, day 13, and the day before. I will stay current on weekly updates from here out. Happy grows.
Today is day 21. Tomorrow starts week 4, the plants should show some pistols real soon. This 3rd weeks growth was great. I started out with 15 plants, 1 of each in a 3 gal and 2 more of each in 2 gal bags. That left 6 that were put in small starter pots and .5 gal pots. A couple of these were used as replacements for those in the 2 gal bags. I'm impressed, the uppotted plants are doing great. They stalled for a day or so but are catching up. A couple others were binned/trashed.
The three that were topped had vigorous growth this week, they are thriving now. They might get too big, the first nodes growth and the topped nodes are equaling out. Its getting crowded at the top.
I also kept a Runtz that was started in a .5 gal container. It sprouted normal but somehow stalled. Even so, she is stacked so tight that I squished her into a 1 gal bag to grow out. Its going to be a full tent soon.
Today was a water/feed day. Hopefully the next watering I can water to full runoff. We are close, they are drinking good now. The color has improved and they have greened up since last week
This post is a bit picture heavy. I'm really not sure how many I should post. Is this too many?
Today is day 28, tomorrow starts week 5. Pistols started showing towards the end of last week. They quickly went from pre to flower. The 3 that were a topped were a little behind the others to start flowering. Once they were clearly in flower, I added an extra hour of darkness for 4 hours rest, 20/04. The little Runtz, runt has not shown any pistols yet, she is stacked, cute and small.
There have been a couple light defoliations down lower. The lower fan leafs were shaded, removing them makes it easier to water and improves the airflow. Those that were topped were bunching up at the tops, now the 4 tops have risen up and started separating. We should get some big colas.
Having variety is great, but meeting the individual needs nutritionally can be a challenge. As these transitioned, 1 strain was very green, where some others had yellowing fan leafs, showing a real need for Mg. Yesterday I supplemented Mg using disolved Epsom salts, upped the P&K and watered to runoff for the 2nd time. Today, I already see an improvement in color.
This is my first run with the Mars FC-4800. The light is intense for this space. It’s been at 75% power since the 2nd week. A few leaf tips have been slightly scorched as they grew taller. It seemed like I was always moving the light up for awhile. Now the light is at 21” and I plan to increase the lights intensity to 90% for flowering soon.
Looking back at this week’s pictures, I couldn’t be happier with the growth. Happy grows.
Today is day 35, we should be about halfway now. Some have stretched and others are still lagging a little behind. We should end up with a nice canopy after the stretch. Everything came out of the tent yesterday to feed and water, while out another light defoliation was done. There is some yellowing down low, its normal to get some yellowing when transitioning to flower. With three strains together its harder to get the nutrients perfect. I'm pleased with the growth and how they look for this week. Happy grows
Today is Day 43, exactly 6 weeks since sprouting. I couldn't be happier with the growth overall, and this past week. The tent is getting crowded. Another week and everything will be stacking up. Happy grows!
Today is day 51, there are a few plants that are taller and were later to start flowering than the others. One of these is a Strawberry Cheesecake auto that was supercropped, It’s a very large plant for being in a 2 gallon pot.
The Runtz autos should be the first out of the tent. A couple Strawberry Cheesecake autos and a Watermelon Zkittlez auto have grown into full sized plants as well. I'm amazed at the vigor and growth.
Recently I started using #RemoNutrints. The start was at the transition to flower. The transition was flawless, and I couldn’t be happier with a nutrient line.
This week sure went by fast. The plants are doing great, it looks like the Runtz will be the first out of the tent. 1 Runtz is showing purple in the sugars and bracts.
There are 3 that are taller, and went into flower later, two Strawberry Cheesecake's , one topped the other was supercropped. There is also a tall Watermelon Zkittlez.
In the tent, there are 4 Strawberry Cheesecake's. 3 Watermelon Zkittlez, and 3 Runtz, all autos. there is also a Runtz runt that hides. Its like finding Waldo.
Happy grows
Yesterday was day 65, the Runtz are nearly ready. There is 1 pheno that has grown out with pink colors and will be ready for harvest in a couple days. The other Runtz are just a few days behind.
Its day 75.This week the 3 Runtz autos were harvested, there is still the runt. Will get a harvest report with some pictures up soon. The Watermelon Zkittlez and the Strawberry Cheesecakes are looking good. A Watermelon Zkittlez will be ready in a couple days, with the first Strawberry Cheesecake later in the week.
Last week the Runtz autos were harvested. They were very good looking plants with a lot of frost. One displayed purple/pink bracts, with another having bright orange hairs.
The first Runtz was ready for harvest at day 68 with the 3rd on day 74. These Runtz autos were easy to grow and would be a good choice if looking for a low maintenance plant to grow.
The Purple/Pink yielded 44g, the topped 74g and the orange 67g. All three would have yielded more if there were more room in the tent
Earlier this week the 2nd Watermelon Zkittlez was harvested and yesterday the first two cheesecakes. Will do a harvest report after the rest are hung. There are 2 Cheesecakes and a Zkittlez left in the tent. One of the spears on a Zkittles is 3 headed, it looks like a pitchfork. Happy grows
Yesterday the last Cheesecake was chopped. Number 3 is almost ready to Jar. The last Zkittlez is in the tent in the dark now. It should be ready for harvest tomorrow. Will update harvest reports soon.
The Watermelon Zkittles were easy to grow and responded well to feeding. 3 were grown out. The harvest days were spread out with the topped plant, #3 going the longest at 98 days and the first, #1 at 74 days. I was able to jar 310 grams from the 3. The buds are potent and have a flowery, earthy taste. They need more time to cure.
Only the 1 Zkittlez was topped, it responded well and extended the grow time. All plants would have grown larger in larger containers and a less crowded tent.
The Strawberry Cheesecake's were easy to grow and responded well to feeding. 4 were grown out. The harvest days were spread out with the supercropped plant going the longest at 95 days with the first 2 at 88 days. Total jarred from the 4 was a hefty 665 g. The buds are potent, and taste of orange and fuel. They need more time to cure.
