Day 1. Seeds placed in water in dark place to crack open. Peat pellets have been loosened with hot water and then cooled to room temperature. Then excess water removed and then placed into the mini hothouse awaiting the arrival of the seeds.
Day 6. Only one seed didn't sprout. It was quite small compared to the rest.
Preparing the soil mix for the plants to be planted into their 20litre buckets. My soil mix doesn't need resting time.
The soil mix is
10 litres quality potting mix
2 litres mushroom compost
2 litres chicken manure
2 litres perlite
150g Dynamic lifter
150g Blood n bone
150 g Potash.
This leaves me room to lay more Potash at the beginning of flowering to help the bloom and for the fresh soil to be placed on top.
Day 7. Finally planted. Will keep in the nursery for another week before placing them in the grow room.
Day 13. Down to 4 plants.
I need a propargation tent to try and avoid them stretching. But I have chosen one to be a mother so hopefully next grow is from clones
Day 19. Three will be grown Using LST vegging for only 6 weeks. The biggest one. Will be placed under 250w bulb else where to produce clones. From that a SOG will form
Day 23. Mother removed and kept under 250w as the lighting for the rest is set @ 600w & 24/0 as they settle into their second week of vegetation. All having shown signs of growth
Day 39. Into their fourth week of vegetables, even though the formation is quite nice the need to be a lot higher. 5 weeks total vegging maybe 6 weeks to get enough foliage and node growth.
Need to find jiffy pod and take cuttings off each plant and bring the mother upstairs.
Day 55. Watered all three and quite surprise with the growth. The light has been lowered to 14/10. Which promoted growth but not low enough to think it need to start flowering.
They bushed up more than double in a few days.
Day 62. One has been removed and is now a Mother, she has just had some LST done.
So just two left in the fruiting room. Defoliated and in a few days I'll tipped them and then let them be
Day 65. More defoliation and tipped the two flowering Godfathers. Earliest signs of flowering can be seen up close.
The lamp fell on the mother, so three of her branches had to be fully removed. Not pretty at all. But we still have branches so we still have clones.
Day 67. Starting to see little hairs everywhere. Both lovely and green.
The Mother had recovered quite well from the light bulb burning. The two base branches are both giving off healthy new shoots
Day 76. Buds have arrived, they just need to fill out and grow. Both plants are healthy and green all over.
The two tops from the mother plant are showing first signs of flowering, while the lower shoot all look as they should during the vegging stage. This has happened as I pulled it out of the flowering room after first having it in there to flower. Then I wanted a mother plant.
So I cut the two tops off, trimmed them down, dipped them in the clones solution and then placed them in the jiffy pods which are coated in more clonex.
Then i placed them in the flowering room.
I have no idea if this will work and it's no effort to try. If they root, then into 20 litre buckets to continue flowering.
Day 85. These two are doing so well. Buds are forming, smell is getting stronger. I am so happy with the fact I put the effort into the soil (home-made super soil mix) for this grow. Only adding some potassium for the flowering stage and having to just water them, makes it so much easier over all and a better looking and growing plants. The phots don't do these two justice
