Just getting everything ready for another grow. I actually incorporate three methods in germination glass of water for around 12 hours then to paper towel until tap root is large enough to put in to cubes then then let plant do the rest.. might not be the right way but I've had success each time. I've chosen 5 of Humboldt magic melon auto flower as I loved the first strain I grew which was one of their strains. The other plant I'm doing is a white widow auto which is not part of this diary and more because I had room.
Still working on getting everything up and running. All plants are in their net pots and and drip system is running started out with a light batch of nutes and everything seems to be working well.
Had a hard time maintaining humidity
Had to add a humidifier RH is stae for time being so I expect more rapid growth to come soon. 1 seed although popped isn't off to a great start I may add another new seed which will be 2 weeks behind but no biggie since they are autos.
Now that i ve got a handle on RH growth has picked up. 2 out of 6 are little behind but once the roots hit the water I'm sure they will take off like rockets too. I'll be doing a water change and bumping up m nutes slightly in the next day or so. I'm trying to go easy with the nutes this round unlike other grows I'm now aware autos are finicky and are particular on the concentration of nutes so I'll be running 1/4 off my regular feeding amounts unless I see a defeincy in which case I'll bump up accordingly.
Struggling again with humidity, I may need to invest in a larger humidifier for growing in winter outside tempps combined with my fireplace really have robbed the air of humidity. Despite the RH problems 2 plants are doing great 1 plant is catching up fast and 1 quite far behind which was stunted from seed. The other auto which is not magic melon is doing ok too but again not really part of this diary. All in all i have 4 magic melon and 1 white widow the 5th melon seed did not survive.I should still produce something but I'm already not to happy with this grow and think it's time to do some photos instead of these darn finicky unpredictable autos .
Update Feb 25th two of the girls just had a small defoliation and reacting well trimming most of the lower growth helps with larger main buds but mostly just hate all the extra trimming lol
Week was busy for the girls I belive they're in stretch mode now and coming along nicely. As frustrated as I with this grow I'm now starting to look forward seeing the flower on these ladies. Humboldt has some great strains and I'm sure thus one will not disappoint.
Everything seems to be going smoothly not showing any sign of Def or burn 1 girl is in preflower 3 are very close and are clearly showing sign of stretch. I'm also going through 10 gallons of water every 5 or 6 days which is a sign that they're quite healthy and happy imo. Figure I'll see some heavy bud building in the next week or so.
One plant is starting to form buds other 3 are just a little behind but that's the game you play with auto, not all internal clocks are created equal it seems. All in all week went well kicked up my bloom use a bit and started added some koolbloom as a supplement. Should be alot more noticeable changes with the upcoming week.
Slow and steady . Really nice buds forming the foliage has been crazy. Lights are just about to max height but stretch is done in one and slowing in the rest. Hoping to see some building this week.
Always feels like this part of the grow takes forever, I think alot of it has to with checking all the time. Another week went by. Plants are extremely bushy and healthy. I've defoilated but with every leaf I cut three grow in its place ;) I'm extremely cautious taking too much off onlyeavrs covering bud sites which seem to be never ending on one particular plant.
Sam problem as last grow, roots have plugged up system, have unplugged systems are running smooth again.
One plant is really putting the weight on. I may have to isolate from the rest of the system to flush but no biggie and have the materials to give it frwh water without flushing all five. All and all has a been a bit longer then expected but quality can't be rushed :)
Steady as she goes. One plant just about ready to flush rest have a few more weeks. Again this part of the grow always feels the longest and even more so with the slow start which I blame myself for and not the genetics.
Growth has completely slowed having a real hard time keeping the roots out of the recirculation hoses. Real pain dealing with right at the end of the grow. One plant was ahead of the rest will begin flushing on Friday. and with any hope when I disemble one I can check the rest and get water moving again. I. Considering that my air pump for the recirculation is a bit high powered and combined with the large roots mass is not allowing the water to run nominal result in deficiency. With any luck I'll have a better update next week.
