Started in glass of water for 24 hours and then in paper towel. Once taproot is at least 1cm it’s placed in soil, in 5l fabric pot.
Also growing another Wild Dwarf that's in an 11l grow bag, Auto Banana Blaze (Dutch Passion) and CBD Auto White Widow (Dutch Passion) in the same tent.
Germ date - 24 Jan 22
I think she was stretching. Grew 3cm in a day and 6cm at 2 days. The pot (5l) is smaller than the others (11l) so the light was further away, around 80cm. Adjusted it, around 62cm now.
Day 6:
Not shooting up as quick as it did when the light was higher. Distance around 58cm now.
Day 9, ouch. I'd decreased the light distance to around 60cm and upped the light intensity from about 35% to 50%, probably over did it. Increased the light distance a little but left the intensity at 50%. We'll see what happens
Day 14 update: She's recovering well, height distance is back to around 70cm or so.
Just harvested and trimmed, can't wait to try it, will update on how it smokes. It has an intense fruity smell, something like granadilla or passion fruityish lol. Don't have much experience so can't say much on resistance but I didn't have a dehumidifier and things got pretty high in flowering, some periods was well over 60% some days 70s and did well i feel
Wow, I had so much fun growing this. I wasn't even going to grow this at first. I planted it alongside 2 11l pots and a 20l and knew I'd run out if space but thought I'd put this 5l in the tent and experiment, but it's been my favourite so kept it.
I never had much experience, tried one outdoor grow last year that flopped a bit so invested in an indoor set up and I'm happy I did, it's been worth it and can't wait to get started again.
I took a real laid back approach, no nutrients, little LST and just let it do it's thing. Had some issues at first with stretching and then adjusted too much and it started bending. But it recovered well and just so excited for my real first harvest. Can't wait to try it.
Hello fellow grower!
If you suspect stretching and are unsure about if she’s getting enough light I’d suggest that you measure how much light she actually receives so that you can adjust accordingly.
There are Apps that work quite good like Photone (both iOS and Android).
With a seedling you’re aiming at 200-300 µmol/m².
Happy growing!
@KingSalomonsWeed, thanks man. It's been tricky with the light. Last week I lowered it and turned the light to 50% and she started bending. She was standing on her own yesterday so going to start lowering it slowly
Looks good man. If you do not have them already get yourself a thermal laser gun and a PAR meter to get the most potential out of your lights onto your plants and to better read them. For that low wattage of LED's we want to get them as close as possible to get as much PAR onto those ladies as we can and get them growing good and vigorously. When cannabis plants get too much light they will fold their leafs inwards like a taco we call it " tacoing " they do this to shut down photo synthesis. Your temp gap between lights on and lights off is very good. We want to keep those temps close until we get past weeks 4 to 6 of flower this changes with autos but essentially if we expose cannabis plants to large temp swings while they have not yet finished their vertical growth it will cause them to stretch a lot. If we keep those temp gaps close no more than 10 degrees less when the lights go off we avoid that stretch. Once they finish their vertical growth we then begin to widen that temp gap and it will now signal them to put more energy into the budding process and resin production. It is a big missconception that lack of light intensity or light distance is the main cause of stretch. If you have not done so yet research VPD, Vapor pressure deficit and how it relates to growing cannabis. You can find some real useful charts out there to help dial your room right in. If you have any questions please feel free to ask check out my 200 light 7,000 plant diary and follow my profile & youtube for videos. Happy growing man!
@P_Silas, Thanks a lot! I put up a video on my youtube of it a full walk-through and my morning wake-up routine on one floor and the putting the room to sleep on the other floor make sure to check it out and subscribe for more!
@LegacyMarketFarm, thanks man, appreciate all the advice. I'll keep an eye out for tacoing and those temps. Will definitely read about VPD too, still lots to learn.
Your set up is crazy dude! Lol
