First Grow - First Diary - First Auto

It’s now been a week and a few days as of writing, the first week went well not much to see or say but I’ll try my best. I have my light at a fixed height of 26 inches or 66 centimetres from the top of the soil. This is because of my tent being so short, I could not get rope ratchets to hang it as high as I wanted. I have the Spider Farmer SF1000 on a 22 hour on 2 hour off schedule, at first I was running it 100% all the time but I asked a question about my leaves and got a really amazingly useful and informative answer from, @NobodysBuds making me think that my lights were causing the plant to grow very compact with basically zero intermodal spacing. I have now reduce the light to around 30% and the plant has stretch up nicely. I am hoping my light cycle and power will give me a daily light integral (DLI) of around 15, as from my reading that seems more appropriate than what I was giving which was around 40. Watering and feeding for the first 5 days I was just feeding tap water, I have quite hard tap water and it’s around a ph of 7 and I was just spraying the soil as it became dry. On day 6 I fed 2l of water and nutrient mix as detailed, in the diary. Humidity has been pretty consistent and temps are consistent but on the lower side I’m hoping that it isn’t going to effect growth too much, as FastBuds do say these plants are used to a colder climate and I don’t have any way to boost the temps up currently. Any tips or advice from other fellow growers is always greatly appreciated and I love to learn.

General: Another week of not much to see or do, just letting her grow out and trying to support her along that journey as well as I can. She has been looking strong and healthy with the beginnings of a nice strong thick looking stem. I have been feeling quite pleased with the growth so far as it is my first grow I don't have any experience to go off but to me everything seems to be going well. Watering/ Feeding: This week she has had two 1 liter feeds, one being a full feed on day 9 using the BioBizz range and the second feed was a quarter feed on day 14. I dropped the feeding on the second feed as she was looking healthy and I didn't want to overly stress her as someone suggested I may have been doing so in one of my grow questions, which if you're also new I would recommend having a look at some of the responses people have posted as they've been very informative and definitely an interesting read. I'm not sure that I was stressing her with the feed but I am no expert and she has been doing fine either way so the reduction has not caused any harm and is the safer choice to make as a new grower. Lighting: Around day 11 to 12 I changed my light output up to around about 70%-80% on my SF-1000 from Spider Farmer, so far very happy with the light fits in my tent nicely and gets the job done. I increased the light output because I am aiming for around a 30 DLI with my 22 hours on 2 off light cycle. I do not have a PPFD or PAR meter so I am trusting the PPFD maps I could find online as my guide. I would love to get my hands on the new Apogee Instruments DLI-500 or DLI-600 to enable me to dial in my DLI more accurately but we have to work with what we've got. Environment: I have been manually adjusting the fan positioning multiple times a day as they are on oscillating and I don't want to create any windburn or buildups of humility or heat anywhere in the grow environment. Humidity and Temperature levels have both been pretty consistent in my opinion. I have had a low humidity of 53% and a high of 75% over the week this being a 34.36% change, I would like this to be lower however both ends of this are outliers to the data, when the humidity is generally between 58% and 65% averaging at 63.3% which is only a 8.26%. Temperatures have hit a minimum of 16.1°C and a high of 25.1°C which is a 43.69% difference which again is more than I want ideally but as with humidity generally the temperature is between 18°C and 23°C a 24.39% which I am much happier with, with an average over the week of 20.8°C. Ideally I would like to keep the environment more stable than this but it is in a house that is occupied by multiple people changing the central heating etc. through the day meaning it is difficult to control as I would like. I will try to find a better system for my humidity and hopefully by next week I will have that a little more dialed in. As always I would love for any input people may have I am all ears to any suggestions or thoughts I love to learn and experiment with what I am doing. I’ve been very busy so sorry for such a late and slow update for my girl. This week was quite interesting however unfortunately I’ve forgotten quite a lot so not as much detail as I would’ve wanted sorry again. The height I’ve put is a guess as I forgot to measure her but I’m hoping it isn’t too inaccurate. I didn’t do any LST this week as honestly I was feeling hesitant of messing it up. However as a sneak peak into the future week 4 will have what I hope is half decent LST attempt. I didn’t do any LST but on day 20 I did top her just above her 4th node so I topped what would’ve become the 5th node I believe. This went nicely from what I could tell there were now issues and she took to it without any complaints. Watering/ feeding: I watered her on day 17 with 1L of water and no nutrients at all with a ph of 6.70, and then she was watered again this time with a full feed of BioBizz nutrients, on day 21 with a ph of 6.78. Lighting: To my slightly spotty memory I kept to my DLI target of around 30 this week and she seemed happy all week so nothing to worry about there.
