I actually started flower with two of these but one hermed. The one that didn't ended up turning into a stanky beast. They started on a net that I took down to keep from spreading pollen
Callgirl was liberated from the SCROG net after her tentmates showed nanners and found themselves ejected. Tied the already beefy stems down to spread her out and let her do her thing. Growth of nugs beginning in earnest, kicking into overdrive once co2 was refilled.
So far week 6 has been great. She continues to pack on weight, and just about every cola looks like it'll be a foot or more length. Getting stronger on the nose as well like pungent gassy sweet lemon candy
Well, I had some different clones in there with her, but noticed last night they had begun growing balls. Hopefully caught them early enough that they didn't drop pollen and knock up their lovely blossoming tentmate. So Callgirl is now back to a tent of her own for the next 2 weeks. Accidentally split one branch partially off the larger branch it was growing from, but not detach entirely. I was able to wrap it in grafting tape and growth seems otherwise unaffected. Will be keeping an eye on it.
Edit, final day of week 7 was today, and I went a little overboard with photos, but found a great combination of settings on my camera to capture beautiful color with the lights at 100%. This seriously might be the prettiest plant I've ever grown, and the smell is taking on some really interesting notes. In addition to the gas and lemon sour candy, there's another smell that reminds me a bit of those herbal Ricola cough drops. So far as I can tell, this is the first time anyone has documented this strain, so I don't know whether 8 weeks will be the end, or maybe longer.
Almost forgot the microscope shots. Recently picked up an old Reichert-Jung One-Fifty, and I've been like a curious kid all over again, but now armed with some serious tools for my curiosity. Waiting on some parts to mount my Canon M50 to it, which should make for some badass shots right as she finishes up. These trichome shots all came from one of the smallest buds I could find on the bottom, which is the first of the closeup shots. From that, I just snipped a couple little rice grain sized pieces off from various places, and tried with and without a cover.
First day of week 8 has arrived, and I couldn't be more pleased. This is one of the prettiest plants I've ever grown. Just about every cola is enormous, and getting fatter by the day. The smell is very complex, very bold, but not aggressive (if that even makes sense, idk). The one branch I cracked by accident is still growing fine thanks to the grafting tape. That said, even with the beefy stalk from aggressive training and SC in veg, a majority of these little guys are leaning. Will have to check the trichome stalks under the microscope tomorrow when lights come back on, but I'd say she's getting pretty close to the chop.
Day 52 update, I was able to add some bamboo poles to the very edges of her 5gal fabric pot. I used these to create a scaffold to keep all the colas upright. I thought the beefy stalks would hold up better, but this girl is turning out to be a much heavier producer than anticipated.
