3/8 - soaked seeds in shot glass for 12 hours.
3/9 - placed seeds in Rapid Rooters in tray/dome on heating device.
3/10 - both have popped. going to try a new method with one of the seeds and place the RR in a 3” Net pot with small LECA and put that in a container filled with large LECA and keep a bit of water in there and hand water until roots show. Then I’ll take the 3” Net pot with seedling and place that in my RDWC system. Hoping this will make the roots grow more and quickly. I think I transferred the seedlings too early last time and they took forever to root.
3/15 - much better than last time. I can see multiple roots making their way out of the 3” Net pot now.
3/16 - they’ve both developed their first set of leaves and roots are looking good. Time to transition to RDWC. Cleaned/sterilized the system from last grow and transplanted with one layer of LECA at bottom and then 3” Net pot with RR surrounded by large LECA with the old smaller LECA at the top to block out any light. Top fed with 230 PPM solution and covered with domes. Water level is ~1” below net pots with ~10 gal res.
3/17 - top fed from res.
3/18-3/20 - top fed from res.
3/21 - roots have hit water within first week. So much better/quicker than the first grow.
3/22 - start of week 2 after transition to RDWC. Both are looking healthy and roots are exploding compared to last round. Res is still clean so I’m going to try to go a bit longer until a res change so I don’t disrupt the roots. PPM seems good for seedlings ~250-260 and PH has been slowly drifting upwards over the week but hasn’t gone above 6.1 before dropping it back down to 5.8-5.9.
3/23 - what a difference compared to last round. Both have multiple roots in water and seeing lateral branching. I attribute this root explosion to GW, Orca, HG and a loud but stronger air pump. My res is clear still with the exception of some GW particles. Planning on delaying the res change for another week to prevent disturbing the roots.
3/24 - growing second real pair of leaves now. Not sure if I’m being paranoid, but they seem a little light green/yellow and I’m hoping the res solution isn’t too strong at 260PPM. Will have to watch them closely and may have to add some distilled water to lower PPM. Though there haven’t been any swings in PH or PPM that’d signal something’s off so only time will tell.
3/25 - both going strong not much to update.
3/26 - res change/clean. Did have a tiny bit of brown buildup which I’m pretty sure is just GW. Ran H202 solution through system then flushed with water-placed plants back in system and top fed with new solution adding in small amounts of silica and calmag.

3/30 - everything’s going well. Added some more LECA.
4/5 - increased PPM to 400 as they started yellowing a little. I don’t know what is going on as they’ve barely grown. The new small leaves that should be growing into colas are almost pure yellow on one of the plants and it’s noticeable on the other. This is getting incredibly frustrating to deal with. Too much time and money has gone into this with no upsides of hydroponics like faster growth.
By this time in soil my plants would be ready for lst and defol…temps RH and PH are in check also using bennies and myco. There’s an 18L/min air pump with 4” air stones in each bucket and the res with a separate air pump so there’s a lot of DO.
Anyone have any suggestions?

4/13 - been rough and cannot seem to get dwc right. On this res change I sprinkled the root zone in the LECA with mycorrhizae and trichoderma after too feeding with hesienberg ewc tea. Then drained res and refilled with ~1/4 AN recommended and no cal mag as starting PPM is 140. Trying a RV water filter with carbon and 5 micron screen instead of bubbling buckets of water and using dechlorinator. Added another air pump and air hose diffusers for even more DO. Seeing new white roots, ordered some cannazym - maybe this is the missing part to feed the microbes and clean up some of the older roots. It almost looks like overwatering or K and N def…. PH and PPM and temp RH have been in check with no drastic swings. Can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. Decreased light intensity to ~60%
4/18 - end of week 4 veg and into flower…think I’ll try photos next because this sucks. Cannot get them to grow right after like week 2-3. Added cannazym and little sponges/filter for the microbes to settle on while I brew more ewc tea. Then add that 1C/gal for 24hr then rez change and 1C/10 gal.
4/21 - res change after letting the ewc tea circulate for 24 hrs. This run is worse than the first. They’re growing pistils and wish they had longer time to veg.
