Germination went great 100% I started with root riot cubes they come damp already I place them in a tray with a dome it’s has an outer tray and a inner tray I also use a plant heat pad I place regular water in the bottom of the first tray the the outer tray the inner tray that holds the cubes u want it just touching the water on the bottom the inner tray has a perforated bottom so the water soaks into the root riot cubes now i choose my seeds placing one seed in the top of each root riot cube I tray to place the seed top up so the tap root is heading down once germination starts It sometimes hard to tell which is the right side of the seed to place down I just stick the Pointy side down in the hole first cubes come with a little hole already in the top so placing seeds are ezer once I Have place all my seeds I place the dome on top of the trays acting like a mini green house I place a black cloth or shirt over the dome to keep the seeds in the darkness for the first 24 to 48 hrs with this technique u should definitely see germination in 24 to 48 hrs once a day I’ll open the dome to see what’s happening and to let fresh air in now after all that is done and u see your seedlings popping up from the root riot cubes I take the shirt or cloth off and place them under seeding light I open any vents that are on the dome to let fresh air in well that’s the end of my germination technique now there are many different germination techniques I’ve tried them all this works the best for me and I loss a lot less seeds this way
Ok so we left off at The end of germination technique now I want to talk about seedling stage I take the dome off completely after all seeds are up and open I might let the seedling stay in the tray for about 24 to 48 hrs depending on plant progress ok so now u should have a nice little freshly open seedling 🌱 that has been out of the dome for at least 24 hrs next I get a pack of solo cups and get a razor knife and shave about 6 to 8 spots off the bottom edge of the cup to let water drain freely the solo cups are Of course optional you can use any small pot u would like I just stating my preferences ok now u have your cups ready I use happy frog soil from fox farm works pretty good for seedlings but and Pete Moss based medium will work fine just don’t want to hot of a soil for seedlings when I say hot I mean soil with a lot of nutrients in it ok now u have your soil and grow pot u want now place 2in of soil in the bottom of ur cup I sprinkle a bit of root boost powder from extreme gardening in the cup I then take the seedling and root riot cube out of the tray picking the seedling up Buy the riot cube being very careful not to damage The very fragile seedling you will probably see roots coming from the bottom of the root riot cube place the seedling and root riot cube in the cup u want The seedling to be above the soil about an inch Then I repeat the process for all the seedlings then I place the freshly transplanted seedlings back under the light I gently water all seedling with regular ph water making sure all soil or grow medium of your choice is nice and moist I set my light to 18/6 light schedule and after 24hrs I increase the light power buy 10 to 15 % if u have A dimmable light if you do not have a dimmable light you would adjust the distance between the canopy and that’s pretty much all I do for the seedling stage next up veg stage
So I'm extremely happy with the turn out rock hard buds I mean rock hard I've never had outdoor buds that rock hard and heavy the smell is so dank it's like a skunk and diesel fuel got mixed up and there is an hint of freshly cooked donuts lol I swear that's what it smells like I noticed the buds looking what I thought to be finishing super early but that's just the way the buds grow on this one the are rock hard from the very start of flower the pistols turn early so if u grow this strain and I hope u do cuz u definitely should lol you will see pistols turn fast so don't go by that to determine the finish push her cuz she has much more to give if u wait at the very end if the temperature are low you will get her to change this super dark burgundy color with purplish pink highlights so beautiful definitely worth waiting when I cut her and dry the buds the smell intensifies the buds stay heavy and even more rock hard very nice
The overall growth of the planet was good she was a little hard to grow at first but after she put a little size on she took off I had to double up my cage because she like to grow long branchs with super heavy buds so she definitely needs support the stalk of this plant is a lot like a tree very tough and strong I had no break's on this grow even when I took the cages off to harvest her the branches bent clear down to the ground but didn't break she is very resilient to mold and mildew normally I have some mold or mildew on bushy plants like this but there was nothing at all great for northern climate with seasons the overall grow was great definitely a successful grow and harvest one of my best and favorites the bud quality definitely meet my expectations the density the size weigh small affects was top shelf she will put u on your ass for sure I gave my cousin a seed to grow and he is at the late flower stage and it's one of his best grows he's ever done I highly recommend this strain and it will be marked down as one of my top strains Im definitely going to be doing some breeding soon and I would really like to try and integrate some of the great characteristics of this strain into my own cannabis creation it definitely hits all my desired characteristics I look for in a strain I can't wait to cross it with some of my other favorite's I've found over the years
Here we are in week 2 just creeping out of seedling stage growing into stage 1 of vegetation in this stage of the grow we are on a nice 18/6 light schedule I don’t hammer light on them I keep my grow lights at about 50% power which is 10to15% higher then early seedling stage my light distance I keep around 24inch I found in my experience that cranking the light way up and setting them low over stimulates the leafs and causes the leafs to curl and droop and swell with water and start bruising and causing other problems I try to find a happy medium on watering light power and distance next I keep my temperatures in the mid 70s I like 75to78 in peak and like 70 to 72 at the night low my humidity i keep around 65 70% I keep a nice air flow with a fan this is important to have fresh air circulating you want to see movement on your plants leafs moving in the breeze it helps to strengthen the stems and promotes growth I keep my fans cranked up all the time night and day I water when the soil is dry at this stage I’ll pick up the cup to see how light it is that’s a good indicator you need water if the cup is light you’ll notice the difference when u pick up the cup after watering as far as nutrients it’s a little early for nutrients at this stage but if u just have to use nutrients use very Minimal amount as directed ok once all that is set you should see your plants take off grow at a rapid pace it really crazy to see how fast Cannabis plants can grow when they’re at optimal grow conditions it takes experience trial and error Learning as you go critiquing things here and there to try to find that optimal growing condition for novice cannabis growers I hope you read this and it helps you get closer to that optimal growing range that I have found over the years and that’s pretty much it for stage one of vegetation next I’ll talk about stage 2 and transplanting Topping cropping chopping and nutrients LOL Might even get into early stage sexing of plant We will see if we’re that far along next week or the week after thanks for checking out my diary happy growing ✌️🏻
Ok this week went good I went ahead and transplanted the gas basket a little early they had nice root production it’s been 2 days now in there new pots and they are thriving keeping everything the same as last week next week I’ll talk about topping and cropping nutrients and other topics if there is anything you want me to talk about please leave a message and I’ll add it in to next weeks post I do want to touch base on transplanting since I transplanted
Transplanting
When transplanting you want to do everything you can to make it as stress free as u can on your plants I like to use 2 gal plastic pots from the cups to 2 gal I put my soil in the pots first I use me cup as a Guide I put the cup in the dirt softly packing dirt around the cup softly!! Now I remove the cup from the soil u sould be left with a perfect mold of the cup In the soil now at this time I sprinkle in my root Additive or root booster Saufley sprinkling inside the hole and around the whole now hi remove the plant from the cup I softly squeeze the outside of the cup to loosen the grip of the roots u should see a nice root rap now I don’t touch the roots at this stage I just place directly in the hole without disturbing the roots it’s should be a perfect fit now I’ll take a little extra soil and fill in if needed and water with ph water 6.0 should be fine now you want to moisten the soil till you get a slight runoff water around the base of the plant and around the edge of the pot and that’s it all done repeat the process for the rest This information is for Novice growers obviously Keep all heat and light settings the same also humidity keep it the same as before and just leave them alone let them grow well that’s all for this week next week I’ll talk more about nutrients topping and cropping and all that good stuff thanks for tuning in
Thing are going well I’m about to move out door I’m just waiting for the hrs of daylight to get a little longer I hope I can wait that long this plants grow so fast they are already stretching fighting for light because everything is growing so close I might have started a big early I’ll make it work
Sorry for the delay I wasn’t sure what I was keeping for my grow this year so gas basket is doing great there is a lot of purple coming out on her stems and leaves stems growing fast I took her out side about 3 weeks back no nutrients right now just feeding off the soil but I’m about to start adding some nutrients soon no problem to speak of right now all is good and if u don’t no anything about this strain look it up I’m pretty sure I’m the first to do this out door and this big she’s going to get much much bigger this is truly an amazing looking strain with her black leaves and white and orange buds I’m told the smell is super strong dankest of the dank lol
Well this pheno of gas basket has a lot of purple on the stems the leaves are dark I’m sure she is going to be very beautiful in flower stage she grows fast very bushy with a lot of thin branches probably going to cause some problems in the later stages of flower I had a heavy rain storm come through and it gave me a good idea on what to expect I’m definitely going to beet to net this one again she has the inside cage but she way out grew that now but anyway she’s doing good I’ll post a nother week come flower week one
Wow what a beautiful plant those buds are really something rock hard nuggets and still have a ways to go this plant is not a monster yeilding plant but I believe the quality is going to be some of the best I've grown
