Started two Purple Punch seeds from Tastebudz Genetics. They were freebies. Using Grow Dots time release fertilizer for the grow. Hoping to go water only (with exception of Recharge) with the Auto Pots.
Transplanted from seedling pots today. Watered in with Recharge. I also soaked some mosquito bits in the water to deal with fungus gnats flying around.
Well this was a ride. The runt of the bunch fell over late week 2. It was staked back up. Took it some time to recover but it appears to have done so.
Early week 3 I increased the lights to 80% while still on 24/7. The plants did not like this and had a few leaves get burnt so turned the lights back to 60% until the end of week 4 when they went back to 80%.
The auto pot system was turned on at the beginning of week 3 and the plantz seemed to respond well.
The stretch has set it in for the plants with preflower wrapping up. The runt in the front has caught up. Flowers sites are starting to show and I've done just a bit of defoliation.
Things are still picking up. I've almost got my light at it's maximum height and she keeps pushing taller.
Two different phenos from what I popped. One is shorter and is really stacking on bud sights and starting to frost up. The other is trying to push almost a foot taller and seems to be about a week behind the other plant in terms of bud development.
Did some defoliation a few days ago and cleaned up lower bud sites that were not going to reach the canopy.
Really wishing that I'd used a scrog net. The taller pheno is really giving me a few problems with its size. I think I fried a bud that grew in to the light. I used some plant wire to fix that along with figuring out a way to rig my light differently that gave me a few more inches of room.
Shorter pheno is doing great though a bit spindly. Some branches don't seem all that strong. Really packing on bud sites though and continuing to frost up. Getting a bit of gas and berry smells at this point.
Both plants have had some more selective defoliation of lower leaves or leaves blocking bud sites.
Looking great! Watching this one closely! I am very interested to see how the Grow Dots work out for you. I think I'm trying them on my next run, with a GroBucket system.
