Germinated via the usual method, damp cotton wool pads in a small bowl, then covered in cling film.
Left bowls in the dark for a couple of days and then checked on them.
Two germinated and had small tap roots but one seed didn’t. I discarded it after 4 days and put another in the cotton wool. Luckily the other two had small tap roots, so I had time to try and germinate a third.
27 Mar (Day 1): Start of week 1. One seed didn’t germinate and I tried a replacement, however I can’t leave the other 2 seeds any longer now as the tap roots are large. The third seed hasn’t germinated either, but I am going to stick it in the soil anyway and hope for the best. Planted all 3 in 12.5L pots in BioBizz light mix. Gave a small bit of PH balanced water via a syringe. Came up with names for the 3 which start with the first letter of the strain e.g. Abby Amnesia. It’s kind of a tradition now and it’s to much easier to track progress when they each have a name. Labelled the pots and put into the tent.
02 Apr (Day 7): End of week 1. It worked, Annie the seed I hoped would germinate in the soil sprouted ❤️😊 Amelia is doing well and has nice true leaves. She’s smaller than the others but will hopefully catch up. Abby looks odd though, both her seed leaves are very yellow and burnt looking. Hopefully she will be fine when she gets her true leaves. Watered them throughout the week with de-chlorinated (left for 24 hrs) and PH balanced water. Just a little via a syringe round the stem. Lamp is quite high in the tent, but on 60%
03 Apr (Day 8): Start of week 2. Watering throughout the week with a syringe. Introduced some BioBizz root juice as the week went on.
09 Apr (Day 14): End of week 2. Not a bad week and they have shot up. Amelia looking the biggest still, but Annie starting to catch up. Abby, the seedling that had the yellow seed leaves looks a bit stunted. Not sure what happened there, never seen that before and don’t know why it would affect growth. Even her second set of true leaves that are coming through look a little bit patterned. Something is definitely different there, but let’s hope she isn’t defected. Time will tell. They all have some true leaves now.
