NumbThumbGardener This is my first ever entry in my first ever grow diary! I have NO idea what I’m doing. But here we go, I’m going to try it! Got myself a small 2x2 setup second hand, aquired my seeds, and am all ready to go, so I think. ANY tips/advice will be appreciated! (Just, don’t be a d*ck, please, I’m sensitive).
3/27/22 - Day 0. 5:00 PM. started their 18-hour *turned 20-hour* soak in spring water pH level 6.2.
3/28/22 - Day 0. 3:00 PM. Girls are getting tucked away in their paper towels soaked in spring water pH level 6.2. Leaving them in the plastic meal planning containers with water in the third section. Let them rest in a dark place at a 75 degree temp.
3/30/22 - Day 1. 9:00 PM. Both girls have sprouted with ambition. Beginner’s luck, maybe, or am I on to something with the meal planning containers? Dropping in happy frog in solo cups, tap root down. Watering with spring water pH’d to 6.0. Here, we go folks, it’s for real now!
4/2/22 - Day 4. 12:00 PM. So the girls are doing great. Wish I would have planted the seedlings straight into the forever homes, BUT I’m a newbie, next time! Had the time and materials, so transplanted into their forever homes today. 3 gallon fabric grow bags with 80% happy frog 20% perilite mix. Covered the soil with perilite, cause I keep seeing it on here, believe there are some benefits (hopefully no downfalls?), and it looks pretty. Today they will start their 18/6 light cycle under a 300 watt amazon LED full spectrum light in my tiny 2x2x4 tent. I thought it was a good idea to start small, since I’m a first timer, another newbie mistake. It’s all good though, a 2x2 will work nicely for a mother plant if I decide to move that direction in the future. See,,, just gotta think ahead. Planning to try to maintain a humidity level at least 60% and temps around 78 for now. Light is 13” above leaves. Both girls are about 2” above soil level, I planted about 1/2” below soil level… is that right? I will also be introducing a very light breeze for strength.
looking for thoughts. I planted them about 1/2” deep, then covered the soil with pure perilite, they are sticking about 2” above soil level on transplant day. Should I have planted them deeper? I keep seeing so many with the seedling leaves barely above soil level? Can I fix it?
They look good to me. You don't want them to close to the soil Leaves sitting on soil are prone to getting damaged. People will leave some space in the planter to allow them to raise the soil level which is most likely what you are seeing.
Those are big pots for the plants, Don't saturate the whole thing until she gets big. Only water a bit around the stem. At that size you want to avoid having the soil right were the stem is being wet( to avoid damping off),
Water a circle around the plant and remember to let it dry down to 1" below the surface. She wont need much.
I saw on your pics that your cups are only half filled, so your seeds are in the shade most time of the day, except when the sun is at his highest point. Next time you should consider filling your cups or cutting the cups so the seedlings can use more sunlight ☀️

NumbThumbGardener Pretty simple week for the most part maintaining humidity around 60% when possible. Keeping soil moist 1" deep, constant air flow. 18/6 light cycle. I am starting to think about my training method. Right now, I am leaning towards ScrOG.
