2 of these ladies, 1 x Northern Light + 1 x Caramel Kush, originally had their roots eaten by fungus gnats. Have also had ducting fall onto 2 x Northern Lights, which are the ones in the 5 gal bags. The Caramel Kush, White Widow and un-damaged northern Lights are in the 10 gal grow bags.
Defoliation, for or against?? Was day 22 last night and defoliated. Went heavy on Caramel, noticed branches don't like supporting themselves after. Did I do too much?? Also, is it okay to strip sny fan leaf?? Was worried taking ones from bud sites as opposed to stalk/branch sites
Leaves are the motor of the plant. with photosynthesis from the leaves she gets energy(food) alway keep it into your mind and find the balance between . ive been waiting for the flowers and then watched which leaves block the light to the flower. and those i picked away. happy growing
@CapitanKush, cheers man, these first two weeks have gone so quickly, day 11 just finished and day 12 starting tonight, will update the diary tonight. :)
Just realised I did my defoliation qurstion here. I didn't defol my veg ladies but instead my ladies in flower. Too high and got confused by having 2 diaries haha.

Hi @Canned_ibis! Defoliation is awesome when done correctly, but it could be a nightmare if done too much or at the wrong time. Before removing a leaf, I always ask myself: is this leaf really blocking the light? For how many nodes / bud sites? How close are the next leaves? How healthy is this leaf? You should make your own experiments and see how it goes. Keep us up-to-date, happy growing! 👊
@VicBuds, that top layer?? That's for fungus gnats, a coarse layer that they can't burrow through :) have used perlite mixed with the coco though, about 70/30 coco/perlite ratio.
