-SOAKING SEEDS STARTED AT 4:15PM on 4/2/22
All of them sank by the next day with a little stirring of the water - most of them were floating before I stirred the water then they sank & stayed underwater.
-PLANTING SEEDS STARTED AT 6PM on 4/3/22
Seedling Starter Soil:
1 Coco Coir Block (hydrated with 12cups aquarium water)
About 5 cups Vermiculite
4Tbsp Down To Earth Starter Nutrients
Mycorrhizal Fungi Spring Water - watering the hole with mycorrhizal before planting seed & then again after planted.
-AFTER THE FIRST SPROUT ON 4/5/22
Turned on seedling clip light to blue only, dimmest setting @ 20%. Keeping light on for 18/6 6am-12pm
- 4/6/22 INCREASED BLUE ONLY SEEDLING LIGHT TO 50%
It seems like they were slightly stretching for light **watch for light burn on cotyledon leaves**
-4/7/22 MORNING INCREASED BLUE ONLY SEEDLING LIGHT TO 100%
The plants are stretching even more I increased light to full 100%, it'll have to keep an eye on them & make sure they don't get light burnt or topple over from reaching
-4/7/22 AFTERNOON SWITCHED LIGHT TO GIIXER
The two tallest plant cotyledon started to droop to the side so I didn't want to take a risk continuing to try the clip light only on blue @ 100%. I have the Gixxer on only veg at a distance of 10" away from the tops of the cotyledon leaves. I also cracked the lid & put an oscillating fan on low just to give them a tiny bit of movement to strengthen their stems because they'll be tall and weaker with stretching.
*I tried using a new seedling light & it was a failure - they are now stretching due to that light. I switched back to my trusted seedling light & hoping they'll be back on track.*
I filled the nursery bags up with soil to the top to bury more of the stretched stem for stability. I moved the light up to 14 inches above canopy to prevent light burn, they're growing bigger everyday.
Shes a little behind because when she sprouted from the soil one of her cotyledon completely fell off?!
The true leaves are coming in nicely 🤗🌱
It's doing okay & I can see small spots of mycorrhizal fungi on top of the soil so I know the roots must be loaded with them!
She is lagging behind. I've been trying to grow an OG Kush for 3 seasons now. The first shipment I received they were all duds, the company sent out more seeds to replace those but the second shipment never arrived & now from a different breeder this one is a little droopy and sad.
🤔 It looks like a kitty seen the seedling lightly blowing in the wind & decided it was a cute toy. NO bad kitty 😼 - that's the first time any of them have messed with the plants. I found the plant with tiny pieces of the leaves missing & a weakened stem. I taught her not to mess with the plants now.
I buried the weakend part of the stem & it seems to be very slowly bouncing back. Man I seem to not have luck with OG Kush's. My first order all of them were duds, the company sent out replacements which I never received & now kitty thinks she's Godzilla swiping at plants 😼🌇. It's one of my go-to medical strains I am in need of it.
Poor little baby, still trying to recover from being a kitty toy. It's just barely hanging on with some very tiny, what looks like new growth leaves. Idk it'll be able to absorb enough light with those to say alive. I'm hoping so but it is greatly stunted in comparison with an the others if the same age.
Sadly OG Kush didn't survive the kitty attack ⚰️
I did put in an extra REG Blueberry OG when I first started all of the seeds so I will replace this journal & updates with that 2nd Blueberry OG. I'll update with that starting next week, it is the same age as all these other plants.
I just have a feeling it's going to be a male though, it's running for the sky very early on versus the other Blueberry OG.
I put two Blueberry OG seeds in & this one is running for the sky even with the same training as it's sibling. I just have a feeling this is a male. I'm excited, I'm hopeful it is & I'll have pollen. I just hope I have 1 male & 1 female. We'll see if my canna-intuition is accurate or not.
The plants are well adjusted to the outdoors, their roots are ready for some space! I'm trying my hand at a different training technique, we'll see how it turns out.
I'm thinking this is a male, I'm patently waiting for pollen sacs to appear. I'm guessing this is a male we'll see. I am in need of a little pollen for my breeding projects.
It's been consistently hot and dry here but the plants show no heat stress. I've never grown in this area of the yard, it's shaded for a few hours middle of the day when sunlight is at it's brightest/hottest. So initially I was concerned of the lack of sunlight slowing growth a little bit it's been perfect for this summers weather.
Definitely showing me that he's a male more & more. I'll keep some of his pollen for personal genetics to make various strains. I think I'll put just a little bit of his pollen on 1 branch of all of the outdoor girls, creating 6 new strains.
Looking nice, healthy normal growth even through this heat wave we've been having for what seems weeks now. I'm going to collect some pollen to continue to create my own genetics.
He's growing nicely, getting taller & taller each day. He seems to be wanting more nitrogen, his lower leaves are starting to yellow some. I'll give him a good drink of aquarium water & he should be good.
He's getting tall. Not bushing out allot but I also didn't train him to do so. I've previously grown other males & they seem to suck more nitrogen more quickly than the females.
@AAAAFarms, that's what we thought at first too. But upon a little research we're thinking he's a Russian Blue or a mix with Russian Blue genes? He has fur like no other cat I have ever felt - very soft, silky & almost cloud like. He's our spoiled boy no matter.
@cheetah844, i actually take the dirty filter wool and rinse it off in the plant water. exactly the same stuff as fishshit minus the $ 30 +tax per small bottle.
@XperencdGmanXG, if it's fresh water maybe consider watering your plants with it when it's water change time??? 😁 **As long as you don't use any chemicals in your aquarium
