-SOAKING SEEDS STARTED AT 4:15PM on 4/2/22
All of them sank by the next day with a little stirring of the water - most of them were floating before I stirred the water then they sank & stayed underwater.
-PLANTING SEEDS STARTED AT 6PM on 4/3/22
Seedling Starter Soil:
1 Coco Coir Block (hydrated with 12cups aquarium water)
About 5 cups Vermiculite
4Tbsp Down To Earth Starter Nutrients
Mycorrhizal Fungi Spring Water - watering the hole with mycorrhizal before planting seed & then again after planted.
-AFTER THE FIRST SPROUT ON 4/5/22
Turned on seedling clip light to blue only, dimmest setting @ 20%. Keeping light on for 18/6 6am-12pm
- 4/6/22 INCREASED BLUE ONLY SEEDLING LIGHT TO 50%
It seems like they were slightly stretching for light **watch for light burn on cotyledon leaves**
-4/7/22 MORNING INCREASED BLUE ONLY SEEDLING LIGHT TO 100%
The plants are stretching even more I increased light to full 100%, it'll have to keep an eye on them & make sure they don't get light burnt or topple over from reaching
-4/7/22 AFTERNOON SWITCHED LIGHT TO GIIXER
The two tallest plant cotyledon started to droop to the side so I didn't want to take a risk continuing to try the clip light only on blue @ 100%. I have the Gixxer on only veg at a distance of 10" away from the tops of the cotyledon leaves. I also cracked the lid & put an oscillating fan on low just to give them a tiny bit of movement to strengthen their stems because they'll be tall and weaker with stretching.
*I tried using a new seedling light & it was a failure - they are now stretching due to that light. I switched back to my trusted seedling light & hoping they'll be back on track.*
Daytime motivation... hehe... you must be kidding. Looking at your diaries you have WAY too much time on your hands to classify as an amateur. I like your photos in particular and I'm curious what you're using... I just upgraded my iPhone (13 Pro max). I have a fancy big camera I COULD use but I'm usually too lazy.
@dalemac, I'd play around with the photo/video settings on your phone and maybe Google it and how to enhance it. There might be some pointers that could benefit you.
Yes there are some beautiful pictures on here. Congrats on the large plants 💪👏💚
@cheetah844, One of the specific reasons I went whole hog on the 13 pro max (upgrade from an iPhone X) was the macro and telephoto lenses. I've gotten some sweet photos with the telephoto in the field but so far I'm unimpressed with the macro... which is what I would use here. My new plants are just babies though, so there is more practice ahead. I actually purchased some black velvet to use as a background for photos back when I cared more and I was growing smaller autoflowers that I could move around easy... but I prefer growing larger plants outdoors that I don't like to move much - even though I have them on wheelies. I'll have to look deeper into your diaries for the digital microscope. I have a similar device but haven't been very satisfied with the results.
At this point I've won more seeds from contests here than I can grow, legally or otherwise here in California. I like to think it was because of the quality of the girl as opposed to the photo of the girl 😏... because there is usually some seriously good photography lurking here that I will probably never compete with. But large cannabis plants? - yeah - I can do those.
@dalemac, 😁 hey when you enjoy a hobby it shows 🤣
I use my phone camera Samsung Galaxy S21+ using pro photo or video mode & for the trichomes I use a digital microscope 1000x.
I was chatting with another GD guy about his beautiful pics (he won a contest) & he has a full shoot for his girls.
@GYOweed, 🤣 I actually recently started drinking a 50/50 mixture of Guyana Energy & Yerba Mate tea daily. It has made a world of difference for my energy levels. I either make it super concentrated and take it as a shot daily or only have about 4 oz either hot or cold, sometimes either sweetened or unsweetened - that gives me enough energy for the whole day. Crazy, I wish I would have found it years ago.
