After almost 4 weeks from planting the seeds, the two plants are ready to be topped. After my first grow (Bubba Kush) under weak T5 lights and 4 plants started with a reasonable yield, I decided it was time to get serious. So, I upgraded lights, and environment so that I can control things a bit. That first grow produced very leggy plants and I did not top any of them. This time, I am working with 2 plants and intend to SCROG after topping. I will eventually move into 5 gallon pots. I am undecided as to whether I should top again. The nodes and additional colas I see now are very close together and quite healthy. Stay Tuned.

Each plant stem is showing to be thick and sturdy with a very dense canopy above. This may be the last defoliation as I plan to switch to flower in 2 weeks. I will update on that depending on how well the LST process is going to maximize the canopy to all 4 corners of the grow tent. Yes they look ready to go to me. Keep in mind that even in the flowering stage, your plants will grow alot. Make sure you do some deflation or other techniques before making the switch. They also love to get some Root stimulation nutrients when doing into flowering for the last time. Have fun growing :)

Switched to flower!! Lowered RH to 50%. Though was having a hard time keeping the RH down. Fan wants run constantly trying to remove humidity. Withheld water throughout the week trying to balance the humidity. Finally got that stable mid week.

Went with only the bloom360 nutrients this week. One gallon of water to start the week. Plants seem happy and healthy with a few little bud site hairs starting to show up. We’re looking to make a leap in some vertical growth and more bud sites this week. Many colas on both Plants at same level. So, we seem to have broken any dominance there.

Lots of vertical growth with more bud sites emerging. I decided to do a significant amount of defoliation from the top down in order to let light penetrate to lower colas. With many healthy colas below the main canopy with only room to grow vertically, I thought it best to get some light down below the canopy.

Got a bit of stretch this week in plant #1. Not so much in plant #2. Soiled buds emerging on both plants. Did some light defoliation mid week. Plant #1 showed some leaf wilt. Many advisors thought it was that the roots are over saturated with water. Though, soil conditions indicate the opposite. I aerated the soil and watered. Cleared it right up!

Did a bunch ore demolition on plant#2 this week. Watered without nutrients mid week as plant #1 started to tell me she was thirsty. Stretching still happening on plant#1, but has slowed down significantly. Both plants started to show some nice bud structure. Starting to see some nice frost occurring on the sugar leaves as well. Thinking this one is going to go long into flowering. Though the rate in which the buds are forming and thickening is getting faster. Can't wait to share next week.

Buds are starting to thicken up and get nice healthy looking trichomes. Plant #2 was under a light that did not have the full spectrum setting on. I didn't realize that and now see that it's development is lagging plant #1. We'll see how this affects harvest, but I'm hoping that the timing will still work out.

So, plant #1 has been showing some signs of stress lately. The bids look great, but older fan leaves are starting to yellow and droop. Thinking it’s an under watering issue as I’ve not seen a lot of water staying in the run off pan. Also soil is fairly dry to the touch in between waterings. Keeping a close eye on the situation. What is strange is plant number two has been treated the same way, the same nutrients, the same light, the same water schedule and it does not show the yellow leaf droop. I’ve got some travel coming up and they are not quite ready for harvest. So, my adult son will get the call for some plant sitting 😬

Seeming like we are going to be harvesting in the next week or so. So we are moving on to flushing. Watering twice a week with ph balanced water. No nutrients.

Was out of town this week and instructed the plant sitter to water only. So we are moving on to flushing. Watering twice a week with ph balanced water. No nutrients. Upon my return I determined it was time to harvest. No new white “hairs” and a nice blend of amber trichomes. So, I performed the bittersweet chop and have hung to dry. Trying to keep between 65-75 and 45-55 relative humidity in the dark ventilated tent. Will check back in a few days on drying progress.

Great strain to grow. These seeds produced nice thick, sticky buds. The flower eased into a nice purple color late in the flower stage. Kind of pretty actually. I highly recommend the strain and weedseedsexpress. I'm gonna try their Green Crack for the next grow.

This grow cycle was pretty typical. Though It appears that perhaps the seeds I planted were to different phenotypes. They were both Purple Haze seeds, but they looked to grow differently getting the same light, same nutrients, same water, in the same tent. One plant stretched abit more than the other and one plant's buds got a bit more purple in color while the leaves were a lighter green with more yellow in the spectrum of green. Overall a positive grow experience with this strain.

Hey there friend. Would you be alright with me offering some pointers? So cannabis plants LOVE heat and humidity. It is the buds that hate it. In veg we want to take advantage of this fact to help our plants grow along much quicker and more vigorously. In veg we can look for temps of 79-84 MAX with lights on & no more than 9 degrees less with lights off. If we allow for too much temperature swing between lights on and lights off while the plant is still growing vertically up to day 20 of flower, We will cause the plant to stretch ALOT which we do not want. So in veg & early flower, Keeping our temperature gaps nice and close between lights on and off is key. Utilizing humidity in our rooms during veg will also help out a lot with more rapid growth but we must introduce it properly. In our rooms we have our temperature and humidity set-points, But when we combine those 2 it forms a third set-point which is the most important & that is called VPD, Vapor pressure deficit. I strongly recommend every new grower or old grower who has not learned it yet, To study and understand it & implement it into your room, Logging your numbers daily. https://cerescann.com/importance-of-measuring-vpd/ For soil, We generally want to go for a PH of 6.1. This website does a GREAT job of illustrating it with a nice graph & very good detailed explanation for soil. https://autoflowerseedshop.com/cannabis-ph-chart-guide/ As we briefly touched on before, During veg & early flower we want our temperature gap's nice and tight to avoid stretch. Why exactly our plants stretch in response to this is a genetic trigger being activated by the environmental stress essentially telling the plant the end of the season is closer than it really is. In veg & early flower the plant is still in its first stage of development which is to grow up wide and tall so when it produces seed, It can cast them out nicely. Remember, Whether we are growing our plants for seed or bud their genetic responses do not change as they gh sidedo not know any different. Once the plant has finished that first stage of growth by weeks 4-6 of flower with most strains, It is by day 20 of flower. Autoflowers you have to watch for it, But once the plant has finished this goal its new mission is to focus 100% on producing nice big flower clusters & to get very sticky so it can attract pollen to it successfully. So once that vertical growth is finished, We actually now want to begin to expose our plants to larger temperature swings between lights on and lights off. This will help activate that genetic response and allow us to draw out the most potential from the strain utilizing the plants genetic triggers to environmental stresses at the right times. We can also take this a step further with doing light deprivation in the last 2 weeks using less light to simulate cloud cover. Very cold feed temps on the last flush is very good too. If you do not have them already, Get yourself a good PAR meter & thermal laser temp gun to monitor your plant top temperatures & optimize how much light your plants are getting. We are currently in the middle of producing a very comprehensive tutorial series for everybody to learn from & understand how to grow the highest level craft cannabis all on their own. If this interests you please check out our youtube and subscribe. The first 2 episodes are out the next one is coming in a few days. If you should ever have any questions or need any help, Please feel free to follow my profile and shoot me a DM.
