I was disappointed to not find this strain from QCS in the GD strain menu :-( Between price and past successes, they have become my go-to breeder and I love this auto fruity pack they just released. I'm starting this sweetheart in a 2x2 tent under a KingLED 1000W LED until its warm enough outside to transfer her to a DIY sub irrigated planter (***design courtesy of the incredibly helpful Weed In A Pot YouTube channel***). 11 water bottles with strategically placed holes in a 5 gallon bucket that has a hole about 3" from the bottom for drainage. A repurposed child's plastic golf club running from the bottom to above the soil for watering. Medium is Promix HP with extra perlite I had to start Zatanna in a solo cup because I can't fit another 5 gallon bucket in my 2x2 tent. I know you're not supposed to transplant autos but wtf, it is what it is.

Zatanna is doing great, absolutely no stress from her transplant, shes nearly tripled in the 4 days since she moved into her new home. I watered once lightly around the transplanted media to encourage the roots to spread out. The reservoir is full and I can actually feel the moisture gradient when I stick my finger all the way in so the roots should have no problem finding the motherlode. I would move her outside now expect the nights can still get cold and it would be a pain in the ass to move her in and out of the garage at night and morning. Summary: autoflowers can be transplanted if it's done right

Finally warm enough at night to move Zatanna outside into the unbelievably bright sunlight, glad the plants like it cause I hate it. Haven't added any water to the reservoir since the 4th (6 days) but its considerably lighter than when i moved her outside, I'll probably top it up tomorrow just to see how much it will take. Going forward, I'll likely be using reservoir solution from a dwc indoors, more for the ease of a premixed, ph'd feed than a desire to recycle. I dont have kids or a car, I'll compare my carbon footprint against any self righteous breeder's anyday :-) May 12 - light supercropping to make the stalk pliable and tied the top to the tomato cage for some LST

She seems to be doing well. I've only filled the reservoir twice so far, I have no doubt the roots are nice and deep now. Placed a tomato cage over the old girl for LST anchor points and started twisting her into shape. I still can't get over how much better the plants do in sunlight compared to a (my) grow tent. Maybe there is a good use for that painfully bright damnable sphere of death after all

Well, she survived the freak tornado, more than can be said for several hundred hydro poles. Preflowers have started forming this week, gonna continue to do some LST around the tomato cage and light defoliation just to expose bud sites to the sunlight. I've only filled the reservoir once since outside, twice in total.

Shes doing well, flowering has started and I'm hoping for some vigorous growth during the stretch so I can keep training her around the tomato cage. Shes been getting so much rain that I never have to water her, tho I did give her a gallon or so of some compost tea, primarily for the beneficial microbes. So far I'm definitely a fan of the SIP although I could see wanting it bigger than just in a 5 gallon bucket- a project for next year.

Shes doing great, my only complaint is that it's been raining so often that I dont need to water, making it hard to feed her without overwatering. She's a lot more spread out than all the other autos I've grown so far, albeit they were all indoor, maybe the sun is the cause but it could always just be genetic. June 10 - some kinda post, presumably insect, has been eating holes in her leaves. So far its minor, nothing that will hurt her with the ample sun and leaves but it IS annoying. I'm still undecided on whether I prefer indoor or outdoor growing. Outdoor the sun cant be beat but there are a lot more variables and shit that can go sideways like last year's late-flowering bud rot. Boo for bud rot, boo.

Some kinda pest is eating holes in Zatanna's leaves:-( still not problematic but has left q few big leaves skeletonized. Plus some furry little fucker has been digging at the soil....wish there was a way to poison everything but my plant in like a 6 foot diameter....hmmm, sounds like it might be time for Fun With Chemistry...

Some furry little fucker was trying to dig a tunnel in my bucket, fortunately didnt get too deep before realizing it was a little cramped. I put a small rock over where it had been digging, that seemed to discourage burrowing around the roots last year, hopefully there was a connection and not just me making shit up... The leaves continue to grow holes but it's still a minor concern, theres plenty of photosynthetic real estate remaining. Between the rain and reservoir in the planter, I water so little that I've barely fed her the entire grow...might be worth trying a SIP with coco/perlite where the only available nutes are the ones I've added...

I stopped feeding Zatanna last week for a flush. I was looking at the data on the Zkittlez Auto from QCS https://quebeccannabisseeds.com/auto-zkittlez--feminized-cannabis-seeds?keyword=Zkittlez%20&category_id=0 and noticed it says 75 days from seed to harvest, much less than I was expecting. I've only grown a few autos but they usually take 12-13 weeks for me. I'll be watching her trichomes from now on, right now they're mostly clear but there are already a handful of Amber's...

Zatanna is drying and smells great but her buds aren't as dense as I would like or thought they would be based on how they felt before harvest. I know light is a big factor it she was in sunlight for most of the grow. What can I do to get nice tight nugs?

Quality genetics. P/K booster in flowering. Humic acid, fulvic acid and amino acids every 2 weeks, after the first month of veg. Do not go over board with nitrogen at any stage, but especially during flowering.

Smell is amazing, can't wait to sample. The buds were nice and tight at harvest but got a little airy while drying. 21 grams was the final total, about the usual disappointing yield I've come to expect from autoflowers. But they make up for the low yield by being extra finicky and sensitive to stress! <insert wanking smiley here>
