Ketamascience First time trying a grow, and I'm really excited. I chose to germinate them in a tupper because I tend to be very impatient if I don't see results soon; it's a flaw, I know (guilty LOL). I planted 2 seeds, and one of them A, erupted with a lot of strength compared to B. I transplanted them into Compos soil in small pots, although I plan to improve the soil in the next transplant by mixing 50% peat, 25% perlite, and 25% vermiculite, so it retains water better and has good aeration. For now, I've just been watering them every 2 days with only pH-regulated water. I know this is the easiest part, in quotes, and when they start demanding nutrients, we'll all have a good laugh at the disaster I'm going to create lol. It's a pleasure to be part of and cooperate with this great community. Cheers 👍

Ketamascience Well, this week, I was expecting more pronounced growth, but it hasn't been the case. I don't know if it's because it's a photoperiod strain or what. But compared to other growers, I feel like they're growing very slowly. I suspect it might be the soil, which I think I need to change. I'm still not watering with nutrients, just water with a pH regulated to 6.3; I'm waiting for them to reach the formation of 4 true leaves before starting the nutrient plan. I'm starting to put them outside, getting 5 hours of direct sunlight and the rest indirectly. I don't want them to get more hours since they're small, and I don't think it's ideal, especially with the scorching heat. What I find curious is the shape of the leaves, which seem to be twisting, and I don't know if it's a genetic defect, a nutritional deficiency, or due to the heat. I’d like to know what you all think. I would also appreciate your opinion about their growth because I consider it very slow. Thank you very much, friends, and have a great day.

I think they are growing very slowly, I would like to know your opinion. Also, the leaves are kind of curling and I don't know if it's due to the heat or lack of nutrients. I'm thinking that the soil is to blame but I can't say for sure.

I kinda with herbaledu on this one, maybe the quality of soil your using isn't good enough.

they seem a bit stretchy: lack of light a bit light green: soil may be poor in nitrogen a tad bit smaller than what i experience with mine after 2 weeks. i wouldn't bother much about twisting as it happen pretty often when you grow large amount of plant one show similar twist as yours when all the others don't. So most prolly that's just the phenotype. So yup may be the soil. But as you can't say for sure.

Ketamascience This week was much better than the last one, I took your advice and started using low doses of nutrients for vegetation, and as you can see, they have responded quite well. I put them in full sun with direct light for more than 10 hours, and on the second day, I saw that plant A started to show small burns. I suppose it's because it's still quite small with a not-so-developed root system, but I caught it in time and reduced the number of hours of direct sunlight to 6 hours. The leaf curling from last week magically disappeared, but to my surprise, plant A developed, as you can see in the image, a leaf with a double tip, giving it a pretty curious look. Since this is my first grow, it caught me by surprise, and I don't know how common these deformities are. What is true is that plant A, compared to B, has a more vigorous development even though I'm giving them the same, so I suppose this is already a matter of genetics. I sprayed them foliarly with a mixture of diatomaceous earth and neem powder as a preventive measure against pests since I grow outdoors (hence the whitish appearance of the leaves). I also put a superficial layer of perlite to reduce evaporation. Overall, I'm quite happy, although I would like to know your opinion and advice, as I act based on what I read out there and using some logic. Thanks for your time.

Ketamascience The growth is already picking up pace. Since I changed the soil to a mix of peat-60% and perlite-40%, not only has the water retention improved, but it also evaporates much less now, which is appreciated in an outdoor grow where the incidence of direct sunlight is so strong along with such high temperatures in the environment. Happy growing and good vibes, friends.

Piss Ants are crawling up your pots and biting the water out for the nest or fruit gnats, not fungus gnats. If you spot them again, grab some ortho liquid and place it on the ground beside the pot and they will run to it and drink untill they all die. Good luck

Hey Ketamascience, Thoose are done by insects, i would advice you to get some spray to prefend more damage. Since your are growing outside, the chance of many insects is high. I would recommend to buy CANNA CURE, it not only prefends, it makes a biological layer and it even holds some usefull nutrients in it for the leafs. Just spray once a week and you will be fine, im doing the same thing. Goodluck growing :)

Ketamascience Hey there, This week has gone pretty well with some great growth as you can see, at least from my point of view since it's my first grow. Now the days between watering are getting shorter, which is a good sign because it means the plant is drinking like never before and its root system is healthy. I had issues with bugs that were eating some leaves, especially the new ones that weren't treated with the preventive I use, but I caught them in time and decided to spray the mixture of water with diatomaceous earth and neem powder, hence that whitish appearance of the leaves. Honestly, since then I haven't had any problems these days, let's see if it keeps working. Thanks for reading and you know any advice just let me know since it's always welcome, friends. P.S.: I feel like a doctor writing the patient's medical history 😂

Ketamascience Week with a couple of cloudy days, it has affected but not too much the growth. They look quite healthy, all the leaves are green, and because of that, I'm thinking of increasing the fertilizer dose as they are entering what I consider a very intense vegetative growth. We can see that even though they are the same seeds (same genotype), the phenotype differs from one to another, not just in appearance but also in growth speed and lushness.

Ketamascience Hey friends, well another week and I'm really happy with the growth, I haven't had any problems with insects 🐜 after spraying the natural insecticide I mentioned before. After changing the soil I initially had to a 50/50 peat-perlite mix, I've noticed that the growth is faster and the water is retained much better. Thanks and looking forward to seeing the end of my first grow, it seems like October is going to take its time, and in that time so many things could go wrong that it's making me nervous LOL but hey, cool head, hope, and joy.

Hey, I recommend starting with nutrients for vegetation at a low dose, and leaving it in the sun as much as possible. If you keep it in indirect light, the plant will stretch looking for light, so it's better to avoid that and have a more compact structure. They're doing great! Good vibes! 👌

@WeedManiacLove, thank you very much for the recommendation, brother, I'll keep it in mind. In fact, tomorrow it's time to water them, and I'll start with that low dose of nutrients.
