Personally, I see no need to defoliate "just because" and recommend people only ever remove yellow leaves.
I am however a fan of "lollipopping", but I try and leave as many leaves as possible, just removig the small crappy branches.
Anyway, defoliation is not a pre-requisite when growing cannabis.

Maximum amount of healthy green leaves = maximum energy production = maximum growth!
