Teh_Saccade I had these for my brother's birthday, but even though he wanted them he vanished.
I think that he is not well, as I heard he was in hospital before discharging himself and disappearing...
So I will grow them for him, for when he decides to show himself again :)
(Which I hope will be soon, as I am worried for him...)
To start this one off, I use a peat-free compost disc from Growit and then pop this into a fibre cup that is filled with regular potting soil.
Without any cover, it goes into a box and then is placed in the boiler cupboard for some warmth because it is quite cold outside still.
Now - to try to be patient and wait for it to pop up! :D

Week 1. Vegetation

Teh_Saccade The RQS CBD mix have popped up nicely. Danceworld was 2nd out the gate, and is developing a long stem.
Unfortunately, Royal Medic didn't germinate...
It took over a week for them all to germinate, and a bit longer past that to push out, so I am thinking that the temperature was a bit too low still - it has been almost freezing at night..!
There's no issue with seed shells being stuck or ripping leaves or stems.
The propagation light was a Favrison Castnoo 54LED, that was advertised as being as good as a 300w HPS, but it was really more like 3w :d
I tried using two, but that didn't help - they are no good at all, really - may as well use the window ledge!
That's gone in the trash..!
So, this guy is going under the MarsHydro TS-600, which is a 100w LED and is a quality light, imo :)

Teh_Saccade This week has been a little warmer - especially at night.
Overnight, they've been going under the light. During the day, sitting out the front in the sunshine.
Switching the light seems to have helped, although this guy is still the least developed of the bunch.
I think it's the temperature, as well as having such a low power light during the first week.
Either way - the plant is looking healthy and seems to be developing better than it would outside.
Danceworld appears to be twisting all over the place, as the stem lengthens..!
I think it needs a good deal more light than the others...
I'll have to pot him a little deeper, as I don't want a twisty stem to develop here, and it to be so tall before the split.
Teh_Saccade Going under the light at night is really helping..!
Danceworld is going good, if a little bonkers!
It seems pretty well suited to these conditions and is growing fairly fast :)
I've had to prop up the stem a few times, but this ought to sort itself out over the next few weeks (I hope).
Being outside in the breeze, the stems are becoming a little stronger with the agitation.
They've been watered once or twice only this week. I think that the roots will be ok.
When the roots start to break through the fibre cups, they will be potted into some square, plastic pots.
The potting soil is a mix:
- The bottom layer is some dug from the garden, with a handful of pebbles
- A layer of regular potting soil, a few handfuls, is spread over this
- Then a layer of houseplant potting mix, which is good at retaining moisture to seep into the other soil, and also contains some extra nutrients similar to that provided by leaf mulch and other things.
- Handfuls are then mixed on top of this, so as to create striations of soil and mulch
- Near the top, a handful of blood, bone and fish is mixed in to the layers
- Before the final layers, some tree & shrub powder is mixed in as well. This contains some friendly fungus mix to help out :)
This recreates the same type of soil that is in the garden, as each year the leaves and flowers mulch and then top-soil is washed over it, plus anything else that dies and decomposes to enrich the soil.
Potting into the square plastic pots is useful not only for cramming them into a smaller space under the lights, but the lips are useful for tying stuff down, as well as poking holes in the sides in order to secure any wires or strings.
I use these for starting off bonsai plants, before moving them into very shallow ceramic pots once they are a few years old.
The leaves are beautiful! Such regular, razor-like darts!
Danceworld has been going bonkers, dancing all over the place in every direction - hopefully potting it up will encourage it to start to behave a little more..!
Every day, it is facing a new way..!
It has even started to face away from the light, which is a little odd!
You crazy little guy, Danceworld! :D
Teh_Saccade Danceworld is turning out to be a beautiful plant!
I love how vibrant and strong it is, even if it is crazy and dancing all over the place like it is away with the faeries!
Even though it is looking good, I might water it with a bit of cal-mag and the Terra Aquatic Tri-nutrients mixed in...
Some of the others are looking as if there might be one or two issues down the line.
But not with the CBD mix - or any of the seeds that came from RQS!
Danceworld has been good since it sprouted. Nothing showing on its leaves right now, and it is doing well even under the TS-600.
After the chop, it will be transferred to the TS-1000, which is a slightly more powerful light (150w), to give it an extra boost.
This light will be the one used for flowering, but currently has a few autos I am trying out - the space is limited right now, but I think that it will fit in ok.
It was a bit of a shame to lose the top, but it's preferable to have it split a few times for a regular growth pattern.
The top will hopefully produce a nice clone for someone else to look after.
A good gift to give away..! :D
Off comes everything! Danceworld is now officially dancing naked! :D
Danceworld is still dancing away, but now - it has a dancing partner..!
Hopefully in the future, it will be a dance line :D
I'm very happy that Danceworld is doing well. It really loves the extra light, so under the TS-1000 it goes!
I can't stop smiling when I'm with this plant :D
Every day I am playing it different music, so it absorbs all the good vibrations and transmutes them into sold beats and grooves in its new growth! :D
Teh_Saccade So, Danceworld is:
Dancehall 20 x Juanita la Lagrimosa (75% sativa, 25% indica, 12%THC!!!, high CBD)
Well, another that is very high THC, which is ok I guess.
I am checking all these out, as I was worried about the colour of Painkiller, but I think it is ok due to the breeding.
It also explains why Danceworld is a little nuclear green around the new growth, too..!
It smells very much like citrus, which I assume is the limonene. It's a very pleasant smell, after touching the stems.
This one is mostly related to Royal Highness, and by this way also related to Painkiller XL (by marriage).
It means that Medical Mass is not a member of the family - but is adopted, which I will not tell it about until it is much older, and let it decide if it wants to tell the others :D
LST on the stems will do for this guy - I am going to make some canes into a pyramid for it to grow around. I'll chop them from the garden in the next few weeks and start the training.
It will be 4 stems that grow in very tight spirals, with staggered inside growth, I think.
I will sketch it out when the plant is on its way - I will not harm them any longer - 4 is enough, I have decided.
//
Today I decided that - since Danceworld was all bonkers and going all over the place to start - I will train it in spirals up each length of bamboo and into a point - then I will spiral them around each other if they get that high (hopefully not too tall, please Danceworld!) :D
Teh_Saccade YAY!
Danceworld is having it large, baby!
What a grower!
It's definitely taken off after a bit of a shaky start (literally).
I'm keeping with the theme of the wonkiness that Danceworld showed initially, and training it around some canes that I have tied into it's pot.
The long internodal distance is going to be put to good use here, I think, as it spirals around the canes!
The symmetry is almost perfect, as every stem reaches just to the right spot to hook on! :D
The smell is very minty, with a strong taste of limonene - definitely sativa, if the leaves and growth weren't a dead giveaway.
I'm going to start feeding these guys soon, as the soil may be starting to deplete in the vicinity of the roots, as they are growing so fast.
Tbh, the roots in these pots extend all the way and are very thick and hardy down there. Really soaking up the moisture and feeding these babies with all the good stuff!
I'm liking Danceworld, and I look forward every day to see how its doing, and how much further it is growing for the pyramid!
It's so bendy..! I'm not even needing to crush the stems in order for it to grow around at such hard angles - it's a bit like a vine, the new growth is very malleable and plasticky and bendy.
The mainline split is almost 90 degrees each way :D
I was gonna do another cut, but I think 4 is enough for the small space it is in.
Mainlining these guys is proving to be a wise move, as they are so regular and fit in the space with each other in such a way as to not obstruct each other, for which I give myself a pat on the back and thank the god of marijuana for giving me the idea to do it like that.
Go Danceword!, Go! :D
