THOUGHTS:
The concept of Daily Light Integral was helping me understand another reason, other than size, why the autoflower plant is important to micro-growing.
Autoflowers, I was thinking, help microgrowers by allowing them to have lower wattage lamps that run cooler - important for growing in a small space - by allowing them to run a lamp longer instead of brighter/hotter.
Was thinking, if you run a 12/12 cycle, like you need to for photos, you need more photons per second in order to satisfy the plant than when you run a lamp for 18 hours or 24 hours. So in other words, if you go 12/12 with a photo under a 95 watt lamp like mine, you'd prolly get worse results than what you'd otherwise get from an autoflower under the same lamp that can run 18/6 during flower. Know what I mean? Alternatively, run a 300 watt lamp in my tent for 12 hours during flower in order to get the juice you need, and I'd guess you'd have crispy, deep-fried buds. Pour some barbecue sauce on them.
Diaries are for sharing thoughts, so I wanted to share that. I guess this means I'm never growing photos under this arrangement - unless I do a perpetual (not likely anytime soon.) If I'm misunderstanding something about growing photos, here, please let me know. I'm still a newb. I could be wrong. Maybe 12/12 from seed might work?
THE WEEK:
By Day 88, it was pretty clear that trichomes were now firmly in the cloudy stage. They looked like they needed just a little more time to look like plastic milk berries. And then on Day 90 I saw a greater deal of cloudiness, including some milkiness around. Looking like plastic now, but still mostly standing up. And it was all around the plant. Even the buds on the lower branches. So on Day 90, this plant was approaching peak. As such, I wanted a week or so after peak for harvest, so I officially decided at that moment that harvesting on Day 102, would be the best idea, given my work schedule and things like that (can't tell my boss I need a day off to harvest/trim my weed. ya know?)
Temps were running hot outside, so my AC was hitting it pretty hard. I was glad there were only a couple weeks or so left of growing before I packed it in for the summer.
Light schedule would be reduced to 17 hours on Day 86 and to 16 hours on Day 91 as per the DLI curve I was trying out. Was liking the results, so no reason to get off the DLI curve idea. Given rising temps outside, reducing hours was a welcome idea for this reason as well.
Have a great grow day!

It was a genuinely good harvest and grow bro! Lesson learned about mold this time, don't worry,shit happens and usually with smart people don't happen twice ✌️
Knowledge is power
@Fast_Buds,
She was certainly super photogenic. Never had such beautifully green buds before. All my others had more brown/purple/earthy tones.
The only reason I had more fun taking pictures with my very first grow (Green Crack Auto by you guys) was that it WAS my first grow. Nothing like the first time, right?
But yeah, can't wait to do this one again.
Thanks for the seed and your support.
TT
Duuuuuuuude! Rock on!
You took all the best educated guesses and based your decision off what you knew of mold... had to go lol
You added more knowledge in the process 💯 🙂
I can't wait to read the smoke review!
@GekyumesMom, Thank you so much!
I start every diary saying that learning is the point. So yeah!
But it felt like tripping right at the finish line. Sure.
Thanks for reading my diary. And thanks for the understanding! 😄👌🤘🙏
I checked the buds today in the jars. They look fine (no mold) and smell amazing!! Interesting thing.
Cuz she dried a bit too much and too fast but she doesn't seem to be grassy at all. If this keeps going this way, it would verify what the guy on Perfect Gardens on YouTube says... that grassy smells happen because they harvested too early. I really let this one go longer than I normally did with the other ones with this in mind.
The buds were chunky - even the ones in the dark.
So, that might explain why she's not grassy.
Perfect Gardens dude might just be on to something.
Have you seen my YouTube channel? I'm not a YouTuber by any means. Keep expectations low.
LOL..
@JaramnieJazz,
Thanks, buddy! She has a little mold here and there.
Never had that before. Not sure I'm handling it right.
So we'll see how much of this mini-monster I get to keep.
Thanks. again. Have a great day.
Mold happens to the best of us. Give your set up a good wipe down before you pop new seeds to make sure spores are not lingering and waiting for your next grow.
Plant looked great otherwise- and honestly looked pretty darn close to finishing. 🌱 👊🏻
Remember, if your not learning on each grow- what’s the point?!?!?
@Bostongirlgrows,
Turns out it wasn't bud rot. It was stem rot.
White fuzzy mold.
Not grey mold. All the buds were saved. And the ones sacrificed were done so incorrectly. (Live and learn, as we were saying.)
I don't vape stems. I could have cleaned off those buds and moved on. LOL.
What a relief. It was still a decent overall result.
@Fast_Buds,
I know! I'm so excited!
What a beautiful strain! We got two more weeks, I think, too! Maybe 3.
I'm very excited! 😁👍
And she smells amazing.
Thank you for a wonderful strain. (And to think I still have a few more seeds of this. This strain and I are destined to become great friends. LOL!) 😋
I've said it before and I say it again: more people need to pay attention to what you're doing! Brother, you got it down 🤘
I been taking notes and trying to copy what you're doing (trying lol) I'm excited to see the results!!! I don't know if I'll scrog again honestly, lol. It's too bulky for me, lol. I got a mainline going on our wedding cake. Mainline is easier for me, lol. My scrog doesn't look nearly as uniform as yours! But I'm learning and having fun so to me that's all that matters! Happy Growing TT

@EBxAH,
Hey buddy! You and your wife are exactly what make coming to GrowDiaries so great.
You two are so sweet.. Thank you.
Hey, I still consider myself a newb at this. A courageous newb, maybe, yeah. 😂 But this driver doesn't REALLY know what he's doing yet. I always give credit to the greats, Nebula Haze and MJ coco, for giving me an awesome start. I'd encourage anyone to give them a good look over. And I've gotten many great ideas from many great YouTubers. I try to give them credit as much as I can in my posts as well.
Yeah scrogging gets stuffy and sticky there for a while. I sacrifice plant/leaf beauty for scrogging.
Like I don;t care about the leaves and what happens to them too much because in my setup, I have no choice.. She. Must. Be. Short. Yeah, it feels evil sometimes, but yeah, scrogging is high-intensity LST, especially the way I do it.
But the plant always recover from it and you don't sacrifice any plant.
Thank you for your support, brother. 😌🙏
@Swollen,
Hey buddy! OK. I just changed my lighting curve to 105 days. Challenge accepted.
😀👍
I do want to see what waiting more does. I think I owe it to myself to take my time with this one, considering it's the last one until I start again in late August/September. I'm very grateful you encouraged me to think bigger about that. Thanks.
Salut TinyTenter
Comme d’habitude je suis impressionné par ta maîtrise du scrog…🤩👊
Hâte de voir la fin de la culture
Profite et bonne continuation
🌱-🌿-🌴-🌳 🤟
@Sorsdetacachette, Thank you so much. Less than two weeks to go I think.
You gotta love how chunky the indica leaning variations of these strains turn out to be.
I've never been more excited for a grow more than this one (of only four... Lol).
Thanks again for your support.
Team SCROG forever!
😊👍😀✌️😎😂
