rustyjohn This is the 1st grow of this variety and according to ILGM this strain is easy to grow but prefers a Mediterranean climate - which I don't have (desert southwest). We'll see what happens when the heat turns on.
Transplanted from 4" peat pot to 3 gal fabric on the 3rd week. Growth seemed to be unaffected at first but the last several days have not had much growth so maybe transplant shock or maybe it was the spike in daytime temperatures.
Began giving 1/2 does of Fox Farms Grow Big.

rustyjohn A lot of growth during week 5. Height doubled and flowering appears to be doing it's thing. I'm not sure what is "normal" but I expected a lot lot more lateral branch development and a bushier looking plant by the time the flowering began so I'm preparing myself for a disappointing harvest. Time will tell and it's all a learning experience so I'm riding this pony until the bitter end! The weather was about 10° warmer that normal over the month with temps around 90° so maybe there is some stress or maybe things will shake out? Unfortunately, the temps are only going to get hotter.

rustyjohn Well, the height of the plant has remained the same at a diminutive 10" so I guess this is going to be a small harvest. I'm not sure why but I have 5 other strains that all have the same issue of not much growth from the lateral branches. I have some ideas for the 2nd group later this summer that might help. I think the growth was stunted because I used a 4" peat pot with seed starter and did not fertilize early enough and that may have starved them a bit. Next round will be sowing directly in the 3 gal pots and see if that helps get them the food they need.

rustyjohn The weather this week was very mild, giving the plant a break from the heat. A little more filling in.
