NorthernChemist May 28: Excited to start some new varieties for the 2022 outdoor season! Started seed indoor May 8th under Fluence LED and transplanted outdoor to farm garden May 24th. Watered transplant and covered with plastic house to protect from wind and sun until seedlings are hardened off.

NorthernChemist Cooler temperatures and no rain this week. Wind has been strong and a couple of nights near or at freezing temperatures. The greenhouses worked really well, but now to expose these seedlings to the full elements. Windy day today so expect them to get a bit beat up. Watered in with well water and covered the stem quite high with soil for more support against the wind.

NorthernChemist June 11: First week exposed to the full elements. Plants took a beating from the wind but othwise look strong and healthy albeit a bit small. No rain this past week, but soil moisture at 10cm is decent. Preflowers are showing already.

NorthernChemist June 17: The garden area had just under 3 inches (75mm) of rain in the past week which was really needed. Temps have been mid teens to low 20s deg C. The wind has been relentless and the plants continue to take a beating. Overall pleased with the growth but some concern, because preflowers are showing, they may be stunted and flowering early (due to environmental stress).

NorthernChemist We had approx 4 inches (10 cm) of rain this past week which is a lot for this area. Soil has a lot of moisture but not too wet. Excellent growth in veg stretching a fair bit and starting to show signs of early flower development. Need some sun and heat.

NorthernChemist July 3: Great week for new growth and plants are starting to send out first flowers. Big stretch on height. About another inch of rain (2.5 cm) this week and soil has plenty of moisture. Today saw some amazing clear sky and strong sun. Expecting the flowers to start stacking. Still need to mulch around the plants. First resin is very sweet and fruity. Possibly mango?

NorthernChemist July 11: Finally this week getting some heat with 25-30 deg C daytime highs. Plants are thriving with a lot of vertical growth and flowers starting to build. Resin is developing nicely. Mango Smile is going to be a big plant for an autoflower.

NorthernChemist July 16: Great week of sun and warmer temperatures. No rain. Mosquitoes were f*cking fierce so had to take some quick photos and get the hell out - sorry if they are lower quality but getting eaten alive was not my idea of a good time. Overall pleased with growth and buds stacking nicely.

NorthernChemist July 23: A great week of warm sunny weather with enough rain to prevent the garden from becoming too dry. Flowers are stacking... a bit leafy but dense. Smell is coming on strong and resin developing complexity of different fragrances. Mango Smile is becoming a huge plant intermingling with her nearest and huge neighbor, CDLC.

NorthernChemist Aug 6: Harvest is about a week away I think. Some very minor aphid appearance on lower undersides of leaves suggest I can't wait too much linger to chop. Colors are developing nicely. Resin is thick caked now and smells floral and fruity likely myrcene dominant.

Week 12. Harvest

Happy Harvest Day!

Chopped at approx day 86. Grew out just as advertised. Sativa structure shows through. Large fan leaves and long internodes. Should make trimming a lot easier. Compact buds stacked nicely with some serious thick white resin. Uncured smells floral and fruity. Definately one of the more interesting strains I've grown.

NorthernChemist Aug 12: ideally would have left this go for another week or two but pest pressure (aphids) meant it couldn't wait. Chopped. This variety was fun to grow with deep purple on undersides and dark green tops on fan leaves starting at about 10 weeks. High calyx to leaf ratio for those who don't like trim jail. Some minor bud rot just starting in a couple places. Nice plant structure, growing much larger than most autos I've tried.

@love_2_grow, thanks! Love to watch them develop.

Plz show us a finished product. Really interested in seeing her buds. I've only grown Sour Stomper and haven't gotten anymore Mephisto seeds due to the narcotic effects, though I smoked 3 oz in 2 weeks. I was so good lol. I've been only growing Night Owl and Rockbud.

@KAPT_SAVE_Da_HOE, will do. Please stay tuned for a smoke report coming soon, together with some more detailed photos of buds and trichomes.

Wow, that looks like the most Sativa auto I've ever seen! Gorgeous! Plz give a smoke report!

@KAPT_SAVE_Da_HOE, thanks and agree. From Mephisto's description Mango Smile is the most sativa leaning variety in their lineup. Follow this diary for more detail and final report out in a few weeks.
