First week! What a joy! This Banana Purple Punch is off to a great start, popping out of the soil with no shell on. Spending 36hrs in water, 36hrs in a paper towel, then 48hrs under the soil before popping her head up into the light. The light schedule I'm following is 20/4 under two 100w LEDs running around 80% at 650mm above the babies. They're receiving 150-200umol's at roughly 11-14 DLI. Organic medium and nutes so just watering in around 200mL of dechlorinated water at 6.6 pH per day. I figured I want to get this medium nice and moist for the microbes to thrive so I've been bottom watering 200mL extra every other day, with a gap day today as the pots are nice and weighty now. I'm running my ventilation on an hour on, hour off schedule during Veg to take the pressure off my heaters and humidifier. (power bill) We're heading into winter and my grow is in an insulated lung room in my garage, so the fresh air can get down past 0 celcius and 30% humidity although the heaters keep the environment at 23-25 degrees celcius. A few trials I'm working through, but the environment is pretty steady and I'm a happy gardener so far. Welcome baby BPP 🍌

Another week down, and week 3 has begun. This week I've lowered the lights and turned up the intensity to 450umol and 35 DLI. (something ill probably do from the get go next time) I'm top watering when dry and still bottom watering every other day. I've raised the temperature and am lowering the humidity intermittently. I am learning a lot, and already have ideas for the next run. I'm in love with gardening already 😍

Week 3 is done and this girl had an interesting week. I noticed her yellowing tips on day 17 but only on the older growth? I'm stumped, surely it isn't the light intensity, still only at 450ish umols. The pot is always weighty, could it be an over water? Her sisters don't seem phased at all. As for environment, today I've turned the ventilation fan on 24hrs with no breaks. I started getting paranoid that hour on hour off is not doing them any favors and I'm just gonna have to suck it up and bare the brunt of the power bill. This will also drastically reduce the RH, which I'm not totally sure of the effects it will have on the girls. Low RH has got to be better than RH too high, right? 🤷‍♂️

I'm really unsure if she's getting what she needs, New growth kind of shows a deficiency maybe? Using 4-4-4 and 2-8-4 Organic mix in the soil. I'm about to buy stuff to make a compost tea for them. She was healthy up to week 3, now showing this yellowing 🤷‍♂️ Thanks for help

that yellowing is from lack of chlorophyll which is perfectly normal for new growth because plants only produce chlorophyll when exposed to light so it’ll keep gettin greener. your soil mix is actually too high in phosporus but you can ride it out probably with not feeding much P if any. you shouldnt feed it yet though because its not deficient. what you see in the new growth is perfectly normal. it also looks kinda droopy are you waiting for the pots to get lighter before watering and saturating the medium with every watering. just dont water a circle around the plant because roots will not grow into dry medium and peat becomes hydrophobic when it dries. water the whole pot and wait for it to get significantly lighter but not completely dry either before watering again.

End of week 4 and what a week. This poor girl was getting roasted by the heater because silly me had put the thermometer too far away 🤦‍♂️ lesson learned and problem solved. I also may have been slightly over watering her. I'll surely be more vigilant on the coming weeks. On day 22 I started LST with this girl, just bending her over to open up the new growth to the lights. Day 27 I brewed up a compost tea and they reacted very well. I used 1 cup of Herbis brew starter, 1 cup of worm castings and 1 cup of organic compost. I used the left overs as a top dress And today on day 28 I realized she was getting cooked next to the heater so moved them all away and re-positioned the thermometer to properly warm them. Today I also lightly defoliated her and continued LST Learned a lot this week and will not be making these same mistakes again. Hope you all had a good week and thanks for checking in 🙏

Week 5 done and dusted and these girls have started their flowering stage, stoked! This week has been a bit slow growing for them unfortunately, I've been super busy and haven't been tending to them as much as I would have liked. I started the week with an over water and then neglected them for a few days and and they dried right out. They were not looking happy. I then top dressed the girls with Herbi's all natural nutrients, 2.5 tablespoons of bloom and 2.5 of Veg mixed in with 5 tablespoons of Worm castings for each girl and i got back to regular watering. They've sprung back up to life but I can't help but think it's another bit of stunt they didn't need. I've bent this girl over and I'm continuously pulling her head over around the pot, just trying different techniques with each girl. Some light defoliation as well. She's hasn't had the best week but I'm hoping she bounces back soon Hope you had a good week, and thanks for checking in 🙏

Week 6 all done and the babies are flowering and smelling lovely! Nothing new to report this week, I've just been watering in the top dress from last week, did some light defoliation today and some new lst ties to expose all those bud sites. 😍 This banana purple punch's stunt seriously cost her some stretch so a few of these budsites are really tight, my bad. I'm still pretty hopeful for her, she's still kicking and seems to be reacting well to the lst and defol. Hope you all had a good week and thanks for checking in 🙏

7 weeks later and she's flowering nicely, not too much verticle growth but the buds are getting bigger every day. Stoked! Nothing new, might make another compost tea up this week. I'm giving them 1L of water every 2nd day, 500mL top feed and 500mL bottom feed. Until next week friends, thanks for checking in.

8 weeks later and these girls are getting smelly! They are also steadily packing on some weight and I'm getting excited! This week the girls look to be in mid flowering stage and they were starting to show some kind of deficiency (maybe should've top dressed last week) well I top dressed last night and whipped up a compost tea for them too so we'll see how they react this week. Other then that a very light defoliation for air flow and tightened up the lst wires. Getting very excited for a taste 😋 Hope you all had a good week and thanks for checking in ✌️

9 full weeks have past and I have made a critical error that all three girls are suffering from. Last week I noticed some slight deficiencies so I tackled them with a potent compost tea. Turns out my tea ingredients were potentially driving up the ph in my soil (dolomite, etc) The soil's ph got up to a whopping 8 and the girls stopped uptaking nutrients, I'm heartbroken but not giving up. I've been flushing them with water with a ph of 6.3, trying to return balance while they start to ripen. The buds on all three griels are still quite green and lush, where the leaves are dying and going crispy 😢 Anyway it's illegal here so they're still going to be better nugs then I can get anywhere else. Any future tips welcomed and thanks for checking in ✌️

10th week down and not the typical coloring you'd be expecting. Still battling with the ph in the soil, it's slowly coming down but just not fast enough. I think I'll be extremely careful with what I put in my teas in the future. The nugs still seem frosty and lush under the crispy leaves so I'm still excited for a taste and trying not to let my mistake turn me off gardening. It's all trial and error for me at this point. I hope you guys had a good week and thanks for checking in
