A little behind the 8-ball getting this going. Vacation plans had me waffling as to whether or not to start anything outdoors before I returned, but I couldn't resist getting at least one plant going. This time around I'll be growing 2 Scoops Auto.
Soaked the seed overnight in distilled water and transferred seed to pete plug the next day and put in germination tray (sitting on heat mat) with PH balanced water.
9 days later, I transplanted the seedling into a 7 gallon fabric pot with 50/50 mix of Happy Frog and Ocean Forest soil - Ocean Forest in bottom half of pot; Happy Frog in top half.
So far so good.
Breeders notes:
2 Scoops Auto: Bubba Kush Auto x Gelato Auto
Thick and stacked just like an ice cream cone. Delicious earthy bubba flavours mixed with the sweet and creamy flavour of gelato will keep you rolling this one up all night long.
A heavy hitting indica with a massive central cola and golf ball sized side nugs dripping with resin. Make sure your carbon filter works well!
Thanks for tuning in ✌️
2 Scoops is doing very well. Kept her in the tent for the first week following transplant and just moved her outside a couple of days ago. So far she seems to be thriving and is looking really good.
I've had trouble in the past with squirrels ripping the seedlings out of my pots, so once again I've employed my trusty garden cloche to protect my plant from those pests.
I'll be leaving her in the care of a buddy while I take a few days of R&R. I look forward to seeing how far she's come when I get back.
Thanks for tuning in ✌️
2 Scoops is looking really nice following her topping. She hasn’t started flowering yet but I suspect I’ll see some action on that front within the next week.
So far, she’s been happy with plain water and the nutes she’s getting from the Fox Farms soils. I’ll likely start feeding some light doses of bottle nutes once she’s further along.
The 2 Scoops has been enjoying the warm weather we've been having lately and started showing signs of flowering within the past couple of days.
So far, easy peasy to maintain. Gave her a couple of waterings during the week and watched her grow - she put about 11" since last week. Starting to get that early, weedy fragrance. Looking forward to blooms and terps.
Thanks for tuning in ✌️
This diary has been few days out of sync so updating early this week to make things current.
The Two Scoops is continuing to grow very well in the Fox Farm soil. I haven't done anything but water her til this point but will likely introduce some bottled flowering nutes the next time I water her in a few days.
Growth has been noticeable; even since the 4 days since the last update. She's put on another 4" since that time and her branches and bud sites are getting thicker.
I was having coffee in the yard this morning and thought a skunk had sprayed somewhere and turned to look. It was old Two Scoops. Starting to get quite fragrant even at this early stage.
A couple of days late with this update as I was lucky enough to enjoy a couple of days away with some old chums at a friend's cottage on the lake. Great weekend - but on to the plant...
The Two Scoops is growing well and looking very pretty. She's put another 5" since last week.
Unfortunately, I noticed the dreaded white powdery mildew on a couple of leaves. I treated the entire plant with Safers 3 in 1 garden spray. I hope this does the trick - I lost an entire harvest to wpm and grey mould last fall 🤞 I'm really surprised to see it this early in the game given that it hasn't been insanely humid and airflow has been good given it's been a very breezy summer thus far. Oh mother nature. Why must you taunt me so? 😅
More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The Two Scoops is back on track. No further signs of the white powdery mildew following last weeks treatment and a selective plucking of a few leaves following that. I also cut away all of the lower side branches to keep airflow optimal. I’m hoping she can get through the last few weeks without further outbreaks.
Buds are getting bigger and some frost is setting in now. She has a very skunky fragrance - and peppery when you smell her up close.
I started her on weekly feedings last week. I’m using Remo nutes simply because I use them in my DWC grows and they’re handy. So far so good. The plant looks strong and healthy.
More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The Two Scoops is looking great. Continuing to get fatter and getting more frosty. She's still getting a weekly dose of bottled nutes with waterings as required through the week.
More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️
A couple of weeks left for 2 Scoops and she’s looking pretty good, buds are continuing to fatten and get more frosty and her skunky fragrance is stronger and more pronounced.
Gave her a pretty good feed a couple of days ago and it will likely be straight water now until the end.
More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The 2 Scoops is looking and smelling wonderful. I’ve stopped feeding her and she’s been getting only water since last week. She probably has another week or two to go.
More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️
Two Scoops got chopped this week-about a week earlier than planned. She got nailed by a runaway patio umbrella that the wind took hold of and it broke one of her branches - hence the early harvest. Oh, that and some bud rot. Found that lovely surprise on the top third of one of the colas. I had to cut that bud away ☹️ Those humid summer days are brutal.
She was developing some nice pink and purple colours as she started to fade - a pity I couldn’t see the rest of the show.
Plant is hanging to dry in a tent at about 60% rh. Smoke report and harvest deets to come.
Thanks for tuning in✌️
The Two Scoops was easy to grow for the most part other than the requisite bout with white powdery mildew early on. After a treatment using Safers 3-in-1 Garden spray she was fine for the rest of the grow. Harvest was a little light by outdoor standards but very satisfied with the end result. I think she would be a great size to grow in my small tent and look forward to running her again indoors.
