Week 6 early flowering begins! Color and overall health appears great on both and the size difference is notable. Defoliating ~6 leaves/sm branches on lower 1/3 of plants per day. Added Co2 generator to help plants deal a bit better with higher temps. Changed 10/7/2022 to 12-hour light schedule to help control the heat in attic, will need to add a dehumidifier tomorrow. Heat is going to get worse for four more days this week, ~100F and then taper off. Considerations for the week. 1. Continue light defoliation, do not want to cause any additional stress heading into flower. 2. Monitor light height and adjust. 3. Continue pre-flower nutrient schedule. 4. Consider ScrOG to help with height difference. 5. Try freezing a few 2L water bottles to place in the tent on the 100F+ days. 10/7/2022 - 79-94F 87F avg, 73% humidity. EC 1900. PH 6.0. 3-3.5L per plant, run-off good. Defoliated 6-8 leaves/sm branches on lower 1/3 of plants. 11/7/2022 - 74-84F 80F avg! 76% humidity. EC 1800. PH 6.06. 2-3L per plant, run-off good. The cooler temps today and 12-hr schedule light helps. Defoliated 6-8 leaves/sm branches on lower 1/3. Propped up #2 so heights are the same from the light for now, 40 cm and 100%. Small dehumidifier added, not sure it will work. I do have a much bigger one I know can drop the humidity, but cramming it in the tent is another matter altogether and then draining it twice daily. 12/7/2022 - 82-92F 85F avg! 72% humidity. EC 1800. PH 6.0. 2-3L per plant, run-off good. Defoliated 6-8 leaves/sm branches on lower 1/3. Will check light height tomorrow, but #1 seems to be growing. 13/7/2022 - 88-92F 88F avg! 72% humidity. EC 1880. PH 6.01. 2.3-3L per plant, run-off good. Defoliated 8 leaves/sm branches on lower 1/3. #1 is a monster to be sure. ScrOG in am. Adjusted Temp/Humidity probe and light height, will recheck in am and pull the small dehumidifier. 14/7/2022 - 83-95F 89F avg. 72% humidity. EC 1800. PH 5.89. 3L per plant, run-off good. The fan was moved down below the canopy and dried out the surface of #2, she was thirsty. Added the ScrOG and gently started with #1. With the heat I do not want to cause any extra stress. Defoliated 8 leaves/sm branches on lower 1/3. Removed the height booster for #2, noted minor leaf curling on #2. Ordered another dehumidifier...will pull the small one (it does blow cooler air) when the other arrives. The large dehumidifier will not fit in the tent with these two at the moment. With the ScrOG applied I can see a lot of defoliation is in order. Frozen H20 bottles likely did not do much, but will continue as it remains much hotter than I would like. These two NL Autos are champs and tolerating my newness and heat well. Height on #1 is ~90cm and #2 is 55cm. Thinking #2 will begin to stretch. Will lower the netting tomorrow and continue to tuck branches. ****AM check with leaf tucking resulted in the main cola being bent too far, did not snap off but is now kinda super cropped, UGH! Will be moving the entire setup out of the attic. They have come so far and quite honestly look great for my first time, need to get them across the finish line.....so close yet so far away.***** 15/7/2022 - 81-92F 89F avg. 70% humidity. EC 1880. PH 6.01. 2.5-3L per plant, run-off good. May require less with the reduced heat. Defoliated 8 leaves/sm branches on lower 1/3. Leaf curling noted. Moved the tent inside to finish. Light height 30cm from #1. This is about max height for the light in the tent with the pulleys; I need to gain a few cm or tuck branches. The main stem appears fine just bent, it should recover fine. Will work on the ScrOG in the next day or so. 16/7/2022 - 76-87F 81F avg. Finally. 70% humidity too high. EC 1820. PH 6.01. 2-3L per plant, run-off good. #1 can likely back to 2.5L. Defoliated 8 leaves/branches on lower 1/3. Dehumidifier added to tent. They seem to be going great in their new space, humidity is now the main focus to dial-in. Continue to defoliate, #2 has started to show signs and #1 is flowering. Continue to monitor light height, and need to raise or ScrOG.

Two plants of the same strain/breeder NL Auto and one is considerably larger. I have used a tote as booster, but the taller plant continues to grows. Photos from 9-7 to 12-7. 1. Is it OK to ScrOG an autoflower in week 6? Should the ScrOG be applied at lights on/lights off. Thanks

Early in the day, set up the scrog net and LST their way the best you can, it will improve your yields doing it right. Avoid stressing them.

New grower question - When to switch from preflower nutrients to flower? Growing in coco/perlite following Terra Aquatica, Tripart nutrient schedule. Plants are NL autos week 7, sprouted 2 days apart. Appreciate any feedback.

I have settled into a routine with all my autos (and they're all I grow) of starting their nutes off about week 2 or 3 with 1/4 strength grow AND bloom nutes... and increase the doses to 1/2 the next week if they're tolerating them... and so on. With MY nute line, I never get to full strength grow nutes as I find it too strong for my plants... but the bloom nutes are well tolerated and I think it's a good idea to "tell" the plant I'm here to help it... So MY routine is not when to ADD bloom nutes but when to STOP grow nutes - and that occurs about week 4-5. Autos don't like a whole lot of nitrogen in flowering stage and too much nitrogen can lockout calcium which is critical to the flowers... so, since they're already in flower, I would recommend dropping your FloraGro back by half at least and doubling your FloraBloom... Generally, if you're not as weird as I guess I am about things, you should start introducing bloom nutes when the plants go into pre-flower... it just encourages the formation of the buds and gives the plant the calcium and phosphorus needed - and only use calmag IF the plant asks for it (shows either calcium or magnesium deficiency) and then only once a week. Good luck with your grow - it looks really, really good!

Brown spots on a few leaves close to the light that had yet to be super cropped to control height. Not noted on lower leaves. Temps/humidity OK, no changes in nutrients. Thinking this could be from being too close to the lights, but would appreciate some expert feedback. Thanks!

Looks to me like the start of a potassium deficiency. If it started on the lower canopy then calcium( which your not adding any cal-mag. Usually required unless you have really hard tap water. ) I rant into the same with my first grow doing a 1 grow :2 micro :3 bloom ratio for flower with general hydroponics. when it should be more like a 2:2:3(grow,micro,bloom) the Gro has a lot of potassium in it and most nitrogen comes from the micro. Stick with the feed chart for your ratio https://generalhydroponics.com/resources/flora-series-feedcharts/

@CaptainKurryKush, Appreciate your support and encouragement. Thanks for sending the link, very informative. From a timing perspective with autos wondering if it is OK to do an initial defoliation now prior to flower, then one during flower?

@SwissKush, Thanks again for sharing this information. I am going to try and source the Coco a/b . The closest shop does not sell the coco nutrients. I have some time before the next grow to try some other shops or online. Need to keep it simple...thanks again!

@NamasteDave, You're welcome, I chatted with a few friends that only grow in coco coir indoors with LED and also switched 100% to the GHE dual part coco line without ever going back to the TriPart in coco. They do see better denser flower results than before, and have learned the immense value of a pre-flower fresh water root system flush. When talking to them about what to do with TriPart, if not switching to GHE coco, they stress that in coco coir it is important to really flush out the nitrogen from the FloraMicro/Gro vegetative build up with fresh water for 3 days before you change to the flowering blend. One even recommended to use your garden hose or shower hose cold water through your substrate for a few minutes to wash it clean after 3 the day flush. He mentioned that with Tripart in coco coir the measurements listed on the side of the bottle are not exactly right for cannabis, and to stick with the traditional 1-2-3 NPK ratios for cannabis flowering, which limits the FloraMicro a bit more than the bottle recommends. I do this in DWC with amazing results. I only tried growing cannabis coco once and failed, too much nitrogen, no flushing, lol. You grew real monster plants man that have a very unique look! 😍

@SwissKush, Thanks again for the feedback. I was wondering about the coco line from GHE. I have Hulkberry, Purple Punch , and Green Gelato Auto seeds from RQS, which I try this fall. DWC is my next step, but likely in a grow or two. The costs are kinda prohibitive at the moment. Again thank you!

What schedule do you use for the General Hydroponics 3-part Flora series? I’m looking for a feed schedule from someone who’s used it. Thanks for your help.
NamasteDave

@@StinkyBudz, I initially used the coco for cannabis website's schedule for the seedling phase and then used the Terra Aquatic (TA) EU schedule for veg/preflower/flower. There is a US TA schedule which is a little more indepth. Just make sure you flush between veg/preflower/flower and start with the lower end of EC and slowly increase. Best of 🤞
