Color and overall health appears great on both and the size difference is notable. The main stem on #1 appears healthy. Added some support as the stem is simply bent. Defoliating ~8 leaves/sm branches on lower 1/3 of plants per day; there is still much to remove, but trying to go slow. The growth week to week is simply amazing. #1 - 100cm, #2 - 68cm. Considerations for the week. 1. Continue light defoliation, do not want to cause any additional stress. 2. Monitor light height. Kind of out room here! 3. Question when to switch to flower nutrient schedule. 4. Consider ScrOG to help with height difference and keep growth at 30 cm from light per mgf. 5. Odor control is next as we moved inside and tent wall support. 17/7/2022 - 75-81F, 78F avg, 65% humidity. EC 1830. PH 6.03. 2.5L per plant, run-off good. Defoliated 6-8 leaves/sm branches on lower 1/3 of plants. Some lower branches need to be removed. Removed pullies and attached the light to the cross beam as #1 is close to the light. Need to work on humidity. 18/7/2022 - 75-81F, 78F avg, 67% humidity. EC 1860. PH 5.94. 2.5-2.75L per plant, run-off good. Defoliated 2 branches, and 6 leaves/sm branches on lower 1/3 of plants. Some of the initial lower branches that were LST were lost under the canopy. Need to work on humidity. Light height OK for now. 19/7/2022 - 75-82F, 78F avg, 69% avg humidity. EC 1430. PH 6.01. Fading Tripart Grow and Micro; increasing Bloom slowly to Flower schedule (1/1.8/2). 3L per plant, run-off good. Defoliated 2 branches on #1, and 6-8 leaves/sm branches on lower 1/3 of plants. I can drop the humidity down to 56% with the tent door open and the dehumidifier directly in front of the doors. The smell is not bad at the moment, but will need to close it up in a couple of days. Lowered the fan under the ScrOG, it is not blowing on the pot or top of #2. Light height is going to be a problem for #1. Added a few props to increase height a few cm on #2. Propped up the small dehumidifier on a box to see it makes a difference, otherwise it needs to go and I can then add another small fan to the top of the tent. 20/7/2022 - 76-82F, 78F avg, 63% avg humidity. EC 1440. PH 5.96. Fading Tripart Grow and Micro; increasing Bloom slowly to Flower schedule (1/1.8/2), appears to be tolerating well. 3-4L per plant, run-off good. Defoliated 6-8 leaves/sm branches on lower 1/3 of plants. The smell is not bad at the moment, but will need to close it up in a couple of days. Light height is going to be a problem for #1. 21/7/2022 - 77-80F, 64% avg humidity. EC 1490. PH 6.01. Switched over to Flower schedule for nutrients (0.8/1.6/2.4). Had 2.7L of the previous batch and used those first between the two and then the full Flower schedule. Both plants appear to be tolerating the change in nutrients fine over the last two days. Defoliated 4 sm branches and leaves on #1 and 1 large branch on #2. 22/7/2022 - 76-81F, 63% avg humidity. EC 1500. PH 6.02. No issues noted from switching nutrients. Switched to 18/6 hours on light schedule per grow question now that we are not in the attic and heat was an issue. Defoliated 8 sm branches and leaves on both. 23/7/2022 - 76-81F, 61% avg humidity. EC 1400. PH 6.01. 3-4L per plant, drinking a lot. No issues noted from switching nutrient schedule. Defoliated 8-10 sm branches and leaves on both plants. Week 7 is in the books. Plants are around day 52 & 50, slightly off when to start. Growth seems to have slowed on #1 - 126cm, I did bend one branch on #1 as several branches on #1 are 13cm from light (mfg 30cm recommendation). #2 is growing, 100cm. Humidity better controlled, consider adding a fan to the top of the tent for additional circulation. Large humidifier does provide some additional air movement to both plants, and the small humidifier pulls maybe 100ml in 24 hours. Ona blocks should arrive on Tuesday next week, so far smell is fine.

Two plants of the same strain/breeder NL Auto and one is considerably larger. I have used a tote as booster, but the taller plant continues to grows. Photos from 9-7 to 12-7. 1. Is it OK to ScrOG an autoflower in week 6? Should the ScrOG be applied at lights on/lights off. Thanks

Early in the day, set up the scrog net and LST their way the best you can, it will improve your yields doing it right. Avoid stressing them.

New grower question - When to switch from preflower nutrients to flower? Growing in coco/perlite following Terra Aquatica, Tripart nutrient schedule. Plants are NL autos week 7, sprouted 2 days apart. Appreciate any feedback.

I have settled into a routine with all my autos (and they're all I grow) of starting their nutes off about week 2 or 3 with 1/4 strength grow AND bloom nutes... and increase the doses to 1/2 the next week if they're tolerating them... and so on. With MY nute line, I never get to full strength grow nutes as I find it too strong for my plants... but the bloom nutes are well tolerated and I think it's a good idea to "tell" the plant I'm here to help it... So MY routine is not when to ADD bloom nutes but when to STOP grow nutes - and that occurs about week 4-5. Autos don't like a whole lot of nitrogen in flowering stage and too much nitrogen can lockout calcium which is critical to the flowers... so, since they're already in flower, I would recommend dropping your FloraGro back by half at least and doubling your FloraBloom... Generally, if you're not as weird as I guess I am about things, you should start introducing bloom nutes when the plants go into pre-flower... it just encourages the formation of the buds and gives the plant the calcium and phosphorus needed - and only use calmag IF the plant asks for it (shows either calcium or magnesium deficiency) and then only once a week. Good luck with your grow - it looks really, really good!

Brown spots on a few leaves close to the light that had yet to be super cropped to control height. Not noted on lower leaves. Temps/humidity OK, no changes in nutrients. Thinking this could be from being too close to the lights, but would appreciate some expert feedback. Thanks!

Looks to me like the start of a potassium deficiency. If it started on the lower canopy then calcium( which your not adding any cal-mag. Usually required unless you have really hard tap water. ) I rant into the same with my first grow doing a 1 grow :2 micro :3 bloom ratio for flower with general hydroponics. when it should be more like a 2:2:3(grow,micro,bloom) the Gro has a lot of potassium in it and most nitrogen comes from the micro. Stick with the feed chart for your ratio https://generalhydroponics.com/resources/flora-series-feedcharts/

@CaptainKurryKush, Thanks again for the feedback. I am also looking forward to your harvest with LST and topping. Of course the new batch you started I will be following as I have both of the same strains ready to roll after we get back from traveling.

@CaptainKurryKush, Appreciate your support and encouragement. Thanks for sending the link, very informative. From a timing perspective with autos wondering if it is OK to do an initial defoliation now prior to flower, then one during flower?

@SwissKush, Thanks again for sharing this information. I am going to try and source the Coco a/b . The closest shop does not sell the coco nutrients. I have some time before the next grow to try some other shops or online. Need to keep it simple...thanks again!

@NamasteDave, You're welcome, I chatted with a few friends that only grow in coco coir indoors with LED and also switched 100% to the GHE dual part coco line without ever going back to the TriPart in coco. They do see better denser flower results than before, and have learned the immense value of a pre-flower fresh water root system flush. When talking to them about what to do with TriPart, if not switching to GHE coco, they stress that in coco coir it is important to really flush out the nitrogen from the FloraMicro/Gro vegetative build up with fresh water for 3 days before you change to the flowering blend. One even recommended to use your garden hose or shower hose cold water through your substrate for a few minutes to wash it clean after 3 the day flush. He mentioned that with Tripart in coco coir the measurements listed on the side of the bottle are not exactly right for cannabis, and to stick with the traditional 1-2-3 NPK ratios for cannabis flowering, which limits the FloraMicro a bit more than the bottle recommends. I do this in DWC with amazing results. I only tried growing cannabis coco once and failed, too much nitrogen, no flushing, lol. You grew real monster plants man that have a very unique look! 😍

@SwissKush, Thanks again for the feedback. I was wondering about the coco line from GHE. I have Hulkberry, Purple Punch , and Green Gelato Auto seeds from RQS, which I try this fall. DWC is my next step, but likely in a grow or two. The costs are kinda prohibitive at the moment. Again thank you!

What schedule do you use for the General Hydroponics 3-part Flora series? I’m looking for a feed schedule from someone who’s used it. Thanks for your help.
NamasteDave
NamasteDavecommented2 years ago
@@StinkyBudz, I initially used the coco for cannabis website's schedule for the seedling phase and then used the Terra Aquatic (TA) EU schedule for veg/preflower/flower. There is a US TA schedule which is a little more indepth. Just make sure you flush between veg/preflower/flower and start with the lower end of EC and slowly increase. Best of 🤞
