GStizzles I'm feeling very discouraged with my grow attempts, as I haven't been able to get anything off and running. I know it's a learning process, and that's fine, but I hope to start seeing some results. I know hydro is more complicated and way less forgiving.
Recently, I finally figured out that on my first grow attempt, I got some bad root rot, so my subsequent attempts suffered the same demise. I did a purge and a deep clean. I REALLY hope that this attempt can jump off, although I'm already seeing some issues with the leaves. I'm trying to be clean and conservative with my nutes. My goal is stay positive, vigilant, and patient. Special thanks to those of you who have given me some great advice thus far. I'm very anxious about keeping this diary public, as it outlines my mistakes, but hopefully I can learn from them :)

GStizzles So it’s looking like (knock on wood) that they’re going! Growth looks cool to me, as does color, and the roots are coming in nice, save for the girl in the back right.
I’ve stepped up the nutrients a bit, and feel I can follow the prescribed amounts a bit closer. My biggest issues here are temp regulation. Theyre far from consistent, as the room temp fluctuates so much cause we’ve cause we’ve been having heatwaves nonstop here (SoCal). I’m also doubting the accuracy of Lyndon thermometer, I’m hypothesizing that they’re showing warmer temps than reality. Gonna mess with that a little...

GStizzles I'm excited with how these are going!! They started growing a lot. Really short, stalky, and bushy. It's really interesting to compare how these are growing compared to their mothers outside. I'd think they were a completely different strain.... I tied em down to train em. I decided I'm not gonna top em, but just tie em down, support em, and probably SCROG. The roots are coming in nice, and they generally look happy, which is exciting considering I was dealing with some major root rot issues before.

GStizzles Plants have been exploding! Did some defoliation cause it was so bushy, and just setup a trellis so I can start tying branches down and training em outward. Just a bit before I flip, I presume. Surprised at how fast they're growing! I sprayed with a bit of copper cause I thought I saw some signs of rust fungus. I am a little worried about the high ppm. I actually emptied some water and filled with tap (instead of RO) to arrive at a number slightly higher than what I wrote down.

GStizzles I started decreasing light and by next week they'll be flipped! I'll start flower nutes then. I did major defoliation last week, and again yesterday. Defoliation was scary at first but feels AMAZING. I'm also getting a better idea how to train the plants in this closet in the future. I'm also getting the idea of how NOT to use the prescribed amount of nutes, as the solution is a bit hot this week. Plants look good though!

GStizzles Officially flipped! I lowered the light time last week. They've already started to explode. I'm trying my best to even out the canopy. I've been defoliating a lot and i thinktheyre ready to go.

GStizzles Holy Stretch!!! They definitely stretched like crazy, and started developing flowers. Seems waaaay faster than their mothers who are outside. I'm now seeing how I can train them better for a more even canopy. Feeling pretty good and excited about these!

GStizzles Flowering!!!! They're looking and feeling great. I'm still a bit worried about the high ppm. I cut down even more (slightly) on the nutes, but it still comes up high. The girls don't seem to mind though.

GStizzles Flowering!!! I saw slightly burnt tips. Figure it's nute burn. Still concerned about the distance to light, but nothing I can do about it at this point I don't think... Chuggin along!

GStizzles They're really fattening up! I tied up a few colas to move them more under the light. I feel I got the TDS a lot closer to a desirable amount. In addition to many other things, Ive learned how these plants must be trained to form an even canopy and not get crowded.

GStizzles Buds are really filling out! The TDS and PH has been inconsistent, meaning the h20 levels decrease and TDS and PH change with it, so more adjustments are necessary. Ive been noticing some calcium deficiencies, so I added Cal/Mag mid week. Starting yo lower concentration, getting ready

GStizzles So I left town for 10 days, and suffered some nute burn! Not as bad as the other chamber though.... It was from the high TDS from weeks before. lesson learned about controlling the amounts of nutes. There was no major pics taken while I was gone, so excuse the single pic. The buds are getting so heavy and dense that I put another net over them. More lessons learned about training and pruning

GStizzles Winding down the nutes. Getting ready for flush and harvest. Bummer that I have to look at nutrient burn every day, but the buds are big and smell great. Maybe some fox tailing happening? Trichomes are mostly clear still. 2 weeks minimum.
Keep the diary public man! You’ll get hell! I had a ton of mistakes during my first run and got lots of advice that helped if not saved my grow.. good luck!!!
You could try bending those top ones, tie them down so they grow at an angle. I had to supercrop mine and while it did take longer to harvest, I don't think it effected the overall outcome.once those tops start cooking, they will only get worse as they get taller.good luck!
@BeefWellingtons, hey man!!! So they've been flowering for a bit now - they haven't been growing vertical for weeks now, only getting fatter :D I wouldn't wanna stress em at all at this stage. I was doing a bunch of tying down and super cropping to get to clear space to this point. Next time I won't veg for as long...
@LumberjackBuds, so I took clippings from my outdoor plants, and put them in a separate smaller cloning chamber (not the one pictured). Once they had established roots flowing, I moved them into the veg/flower chamber like you see. I plan on keeping em in here and flipping em fairly soon after a little bit of training. When I moved em, there were enough roots that I was feeling confident in em, but not too many that I was scared to take em out of the smaller cups. I gently pulled them out, and a couple broke, but not too many. I heard it's ok if couple break...
