I wasn’t going to make a diary here because I got a late start this year, but I think I owe it to the man himself to feature this one with all the cannabis cups it’s won. Hope you enjoy our journey outdoors. ✌️🏼
Jack Herer sprouted 6/4/2022
All she does is lay in the sun ✌️🏼
Grown 20” in 2 weeks still vegging hard, roots are pushing through the bottoms already and into the yard.
Cayenne pepper on top of soil to keep the racoons away works great
Lollipopping some of the lowers and pulling inner bud sites. Water every 4 -6 days That’s it. Organic living soil and the sun does the rest.
Love watching this one grow outdoors with the Laughing Buddha and Critical Purple Kush. My favorite place to have my coffee lately.
Jack Herer and Co. are all organic sun grown plants. I did the math and it’s about $55 all in for the bags, seed, and soil per plant. It’s just amazing to watch. There’s bugs that get in there and I’m combatting but it’s so healthy, and the growth is very fast at this point in veg.
I’ve lollipopped and removed the 4 lower branches. I use Kyle kushmans chiro method which is gently breaking the stems in a back and forth method by twisting it 1-2” apart. This method denodes by Lollipopping up to the third node but leaving the fan leaves on sites you remove them giving it extra solar panels to grow without bud sites, and the chiro method makes very strong stems for the windy nights. Check that out, there’s a great YouTube video on it.
Here’s to always getting better, appreciate you guys!
Took a 2 week gap between posts. They’ve gotten a compost tea in between and waterings, fully organic super soil and sun, battling some small pests has been the toughest part, they do the rest on their own. Jack Herer is growing great with the other two.
Sorry for the break, into week 16 from seed now and it’s fully in a dense flower about halfway through. Smell coming off the plant is lemon and incredible so far. This is a fully organic outdoor grow. Defoliation and soil amendments are the only thing I’m contributing. Beautiful grow so far. The laughing Buddha (biggest plant of the 3 is over 7ft from the stem base, and the topped critical purple Kush rounds out the outdoor run this year. ✌️🏼
I just love everything about this outdoor grow. Posted a video, starting week 6 of flower. We’ve had some weather here but holding off PM well. I put an 8x12 awning over them for the rough storms. It fills the yard with that classic pot smell. Can’t wait to harvest and pack this. I’ve never had Jack Herer before so my grow will be my first experience with a multi cannabis cup winner.
Jack Herer outdoor organic grow is another week towards the harvest. Been a lot of fun watching this grow from seed. Getting close to chop, and expect some good weight off both my seedsman grows. They really showed up for me this grow. Thanks for checking it out!
Harvest day - I save my harvest post for the yield results so I have one more to follow.
Beautiful grow though and really impressed with the yield and results. I typically only grow indoors, this is my first full outdoor grow with a photo actually. It definitely changed how I view growing seeing the plants react outdoors.
Also I’m in newly legal NY state and we would not be here today if it wasn’t for people like Jack Herer fighting for us at the most difficult times to do it. Jack was born in Buffalo, NY so this grow was a grow to pay homage to a man that led the way. This strain has also won the 2nd most cannabis cups behind only Skunk #1 a strain well deserving of the Jack Herer name.
@Pjm70, yeah that Bruce banner has really nice bud structure you are growing, props there. Means a lot. I typically grow indoor but this outdoor year has been really great with little work.
Looking real good👌, A friend of mine grew a Jack Herer outside in the ground last year, it grew over 12' tall and he harvested just about a pound of herb. Could've been more but the weather stopped cooperating.
Good luck with the rest of your grow, Hope the weather holds out a little longer!!!
@XG_Jack,My Green Potion fast(fully organic as well) that's in the greenhouse now is about 5 feet tall in a 7 gal. fabric pot. I had to put it in the greenhouse because we had frost the other night and it's supposed to go below freezing again tonight and tomorrow😵, but I have a little heater ready to go, plugged into an inkbird for heat control and I'll try and keep it above 10c (50F) over night. It turned into a giant plant but it's not real fast, maybe it would have been faster indoors in optimal conditions.
Smok'em if you got'em👊👊..
@northernMike, thanks Mike, buds on this one are really nice. Fully organic too, very dense and has that classic pot smell, all sun and soil so I can’t take much credit. This sprouted 6/1 so it was later than I would have, but yeah this went when it took off, I can see how you’d get 12footers. It’s 6.5 and I have a sativa laughing Buddha that is 7.5 all in 15g grow bags. I’m going right into the ground next year to see the difference.
@Seedsman, came back to tell you this has been curing for 7 months now. It’s the dankest smelling bed I’ve ever grown, you can fill up a warehouse with an eight of it. You have a special Jack you’re putting out. Thank you, going to keep running this.
