Placed in cup of water for two days then placed in paper towel on 21st of June. Tap root popped out on 22nd and planted same day, very happy with the support and replies I’m getting! Also very proud of this little seed as I really didn’t think she would make it after being in the bottom of a bag for so long. Hope I can get some good yield and learn a lot of new things for my third grow soon.
I always start the light right away, I used to wait but I was unable to check one day and when I checked the next day she sprouted out and was streched out and could not even support her own weight for a week after. I filled the pot to the top and and to create supports.
Unless your on a really tight budget then having the light on is easier. Once a sprout finds light it switches from search mode to gather light mode and starts producing chlorophyll and opening its seed leaves.
Thanks to eveyone that replied to my last question, really means a lot! Another quick question about lighting I had was if I should have blue light for veg then red for flower or just have the mixed purple on for the duration of the plants life?
both on throughout the grow but you are severely underpowered. those lights are for growing aquarium plants or lettuce and stuff. cannabis is a high energy plant.
Ye. She'll be a quick 1 for sure. Must have lots of Ruderails to be pushing that out so quick.
Perfectly fine. Id stay away from any nutrients for a while, tap water will be fine for a few days. Then day 4 or so start pushing a very light diet on her.
Idk what you got for growing but she is fine.
I've had my ganja runtz or 1 of them go like that. Can't remember.
Happy growing pal.
Why do I have two perfect drops of water on both leaves? Too humid? I haven’t watered today just turned the light on this morning and noticed it. The tents also not humid to touch and no water drops on ceiling of tent.
Is she looking healthy? Day 4 after being planted. I apologise for the frequent questions but as this is my only seed I’m very paranoid. Haven’t been able to use the sun much as it’s been hiding behind those pesky clouds 😞 so LEDs mostly.
plants take in moisture through roots and release water through their leaves and not vice versa unless we’re talking about cuts waiting to root.
the reason you keep a higher rh in veg state is not so that plant takes up moisture from the air mostly but at low rh stomatas close or severely shrink in order to conserve and regulate water content inside the leaves which in turn slows down growth because the way plant takes up nutrient and water is through pressure basically.
as it releases water through stomatas it pulls water into the leaves and that water is pulled by the roots from the medium. so more water it releases through its leaves more nutrients and water are taken in by the roots. but as stomata closes in extremely low rh this process slows down.
anything over 40% is managable though and 55-60% is good in seedling and veg. and again i wouldnt wrap a seedling with wet towel just water your plants and gice it support because that little gal will fall over in a slight wind.
Will this mini led strip help my other weak light out? Or is it wasted energy. I’m still putting the plant in the sun as soon as it gets onto my balcony but while it’s really cloudy and in the evening this is all I’ve got.
Well, I suppose ANY light is better than total darkness but I can't think this will do much good... and your other lights look to be just fine, especially if she's getting sunlight when she can ... Personally, I wouldn't waste the time...
Good luck!
It’s too early Growmie! I say give her at least a couple more weeks to strengthen that central stem and grow a few more nodes. Then you can start bending and shaping. The best thing you can do now to keep her compact is give her more light. She looks like she’s stretching to find more light. Good luck!
@Cc4mo, oh sorry for my mistake, but in your journal description in the light source you written in a 600 watt lamp. So that's where my mistake came from 🙃
What I would do is use that nice balcony space during the day (if it's in the sun) and use the 40 watt lamp during evenings and rainy weather.
The sun is the best light source you can get...if you got a nice sunny balcony no lamp can compete with the sun growmie 🌱🍻
But as for artificial light you can upgrade your 40W with a new bulb after bulb whenever you have some spare money. But you can get some decent buds under 80W to so no pressure 🍅😎 it's just much easier with a powerful light source☀️
