This week I began the flush so she will be getting only plain water the next week or so. I unfortunately came across a few seeds on the lower popcorn buds. Upon further investigation, hidden in the lower middle of the plant there was some nanners. I did some real good looking around and didn't see anymore around the good bud sites. However I'm not sure if it was during defoliation or something but somehow there was 3 seeds on separate upper bud sites. All the seeds I found were immature and I haven't seen any more nanners anywhere else. Depending on if I start to see lots more seeds pop up, I might harvest the end of week 8 although I'm hoping this will go to week 9.
I ended up taking her down a week early for two reasons. First reason was because I was still finding seeds here and there the past week. And second reason is the trichomes were actually developed the way I wanted them. They were 80% cloudy with 10% clear and 10% amber. Going another week probably would have changed the amber to being 20-30. I will be giving An update in around 5 days or so with the dry results. Update on smoke after cure. This is my first grow and I have seen the results first hand of how a good cure affects the buds. After a month of curing the buds had gotten much smoother than when first harvested. After that there hasn't been much of a change in smoothness. The bud has a very earthy pine taste to it. Overall very decent tasting bud but nothing to write home about.
Well the buds have finished drying a Lil early at 4 days ready for curing. For my first grow I feel my harvest was pretty good. There was about 3.5 Oz of decent size buds and about 1.5 Oz of popcorn. Bc I harvested a Lil early the buds weren't quite as dense as I would have hoped. They weren't airy but they had a slight sativa looking bud structure. Had I let it go another week or 2 they would have probably been a lot more dense. The smoke so far after drying is OK. It doesn't have to much flavor yet but the high is pretty good and not to much couch lock. I'm hoping to see the buds flavor and potency improve over the next couple weeks during the cure. Will update in a couple weeks with how the smoke is after curing.
