I have grown RQS a few times but this is my first RQS diary. The seed took 36hrs to pop and sprout in the wet paper towel. It only took another 36hrs to come fully out of the ground and loose it’s shell.
I started with the lights 70cm’s from the soil which was giving a LUX💡reading of 25,000lux💡.Once the seedling 🌱 got to 5cm’s I raised the light by 5cm again to keep the distance at 70cm’s maintaining a reading of 25,000Lux💡 at the top of the seedling 🌱.
On previous grows I started with the light at 80cm’s but I was getting stretching. I find if I start at 70cm’s and don’t raise the light after a day or two that the seedling 🌱 can get light burn.
HUMIDITY: As you can see in photos I have milk bottle tops full of water next to the seedling. I’ve been this for a while now. I have my seedling next to a plant only a few weeks away from harvest so I need to keep the overall humidity low. I might be crazy and wasting my time but it makes sense to me. I leave these bottle tops near the seedling and over the space of a day the water evaporates off and then I refill them again with water (PH’d water). I reckon if the water is evaporating off so close to the seedling that it must be creating some extra humidity around the seedling 🌱.
For the record I don’t think the earth 🌍 is flat.
*I’m using RQS nutrients for this grow. I am recording the nutrients as 0.5ml as there is not a tablet option so what I mean by 0.5 is half of one tablet per 2ltrs of water.
🦍Day 3: Watered around the edges of the seedling 🌱 just to dampen the soil a bit
🦍Day 5: Dampened soil again. Looking good so far.
🦍Day 7: Gave very light watering. Happy with the height of the seedling 🌱. The light distance seems to have worked well.
🦍Day 8: I’m really happy with how everything is looking and at how short the seedling 🌱 has stayed. No stretching so I think the lamp distance was perfect. Light reading at top of plant: 35,000lux💡
🦍Day 9: Gave a light watering with just PH’d water @6.5.
🦍Day 11: Another light watering today with PH’d water.
🦍Day 14: Gave full watering to run off, took 2ltrs.
🦍Day 15: Everything is looking good. I’m only 66cm away from the light(35,000lux 💡). I think this might be a bit close so I’m gonna raise the light today by 5cm.
🦍Day 17; (Mon) started LST. A bit earlier than usual. Just put a small bend in it.
🦍Day 18: AAAHHHhhhrrrrggg 😡. Gave another small bit of a bend today and the stem snapped. It’s a complete break so can’t tape it back together. It’s only the two bottom branches that are left. Sure we’ll see how it goes.
🦍Day 20: Started bending the two remaining branches away from each other and towards the center of the pot.
🦍Day 22: Start of week 3 and not where I expected to be due to accidental topping. (49,000lux💡)
🦍Day 25: (Tues) A week since I snapped the main stem. I’ve continued to LST the two remaining branches and the plant is looking healthy. Watered with small dose of nutrients.
Week 5 and there’s been consistent healthy growth. It’s a bit of an odd shape because of the way I’ve LST’d after accidental topping. So overall it’s looking good.
🦍Day 24: (Mon) Watered with nutrients. Clipped off 3 or 4 leaves.
🦍Day 27: Watered with Nutrients.
Start of week 5 and all is looking good. Plant grew 16cm this week. I’ve raised the lights be 5cm (45,000lux💡) Some nice signs of pre flower. Clipped off two centre leaves 🍃
🦍Day 37: Watered with Nutrients. Took 3ltrs including run off.
🦍Day 42: Watered with Nutrients
Week 8 and all is looking good. I’m getting a light reading of 60,000lux 💡at the top buds which is exactly where I want to be.
🦍Day 58: Watered with light dose of Nutrients. I’ll switch to just ph’d water after this feed.
Chopped the plant in day 73. Hung full plant for 24hrs. Chopped branches and hung for a week. Clipped off buds a dried for another week in a drying mesh. During drying I had the room dark with a constant humidity of 50% with a room temp of 20 degrees.
