This is my 1st hydroponic grow, and i had to change out my water because of ph issues. i made that change at day 5 instead of day 7. the growth since i changed the water has been amazing and i was thinking of changing to a 5 day schedule. any thoughts?
could it be other factors coinciding, and it only seems like it exploded because of teh rez change?
you can always put a little less in to match a 5-day schedule, which will minimize any additional costs.
get the water moving/churning more, if you can... that will extend longevity. keep it cooler etc.
growth seemed to slow after the last feeding. i had the ph a little high. refreshed the res with clean water and fresh nutes on day 33. both plants have grown at least an inch a day since the res was refreshed and ph brought down to 5.6
plants are both growing like weeds. they have outgrown the AeroGarden light. putting the bestVA 400W LED into service.
the smaller plant looks like its getting mugged by the big one. it didnt occur to me about the space requirements of the root systems.
this res is barely big enough for 1 plant. live and learn.
had some nutrients/ph issues yesterday. drained the res and flushed the roots with distilled water, then redid the nutes to 6.2. ph had dropped to 5.89 this afternoon.
started showing the first sings of flowering today. a little later than advertised, but they do what they do in their own time.
i have 2 plants in an aero garden. the roots have intertwined and cant be separated without hurting the plants. the roots have filled the res, and i was wondering if this would impact the growth?
only if too dense or one is "strangling" the other and hoarding resources. (via available opportunity, nothing malicious, lol)
roots intertwine outside.. in some other growing methods indoors too with no problems... as long they aren't cannibalizing each other should be fine. if you see symptoms that make no sense, like being rootbound, consider a larger recipticle or less vege time.
as long as rootball and most of mass is compartmentalized, i don't think they'lll cause trouble for each other.
be had some ph issues this past week, but seem to have figured it out.
the girls are both looking healthy and strong, and have started flowering fully.
this grow is a great example of how sensitive the autos are. i had these plants in my living room and shot a fly off of the small one with a salt gun. it shredded a few leaves, which were clipped off almost immediately. that stress was enough for that plant to stop all growth. 5 weeks later and the size difference is huge. same everything except that one incident. she’s fully recovered and flowering nicely, just a mini version of the other.
the girls are flowering nicely and looking very healthy. got the nutrient/ph issues sorted out and they’ve responded nicely ever since.
day 59- they are getting very fragrant. sweet, almost like a weed flavored cookie dough smell.
the plants are using a lot of water. having to top up the res every other day or so. i need a bigger res.
they are in full flower and have gotten very stinky. the smell is amazing. i can’t wait to try it out.
buds are solid and getting fatter. looking good. business as usual.
coming into the home stretch. you can smell the plants in the back corner of my house, from the front door.
got a couple amber trichomes, but for the most part they are clear to milky. the plants seem progress MUCH quicker through the stages with hydroponics, than they do in soil. i like the hydroponic system so much, that i picked up another aerograden (got a screaming deal. $90 at a yard sale-brand new in the box. $250 retail). in the future, i am going to use the aero gardens for propagation or for 1 plant per device. 2 plants makes it too difficult to manage, especially if 1 is slower than the other, like this grow.

i couldn’t help myself and trimmed 1 bud a few days. barely dried and totally uncured, this weed is still better than anything from a dispensary. i tried it last night and my roommate was floored by the quality, along with being stoned out of her mind. i had to agree with her. bomb ass weed!
