Pineapple Express by Fast Buds is growing so nicely. She already produces a very strong smell, despite being only 4.5 weeks old. Today I took her out to do some minor LST training and trimming. So far she's growing without any issues

I am germinating two more Fast Buds seeds. About to finish soaking them. Someone said that it's not recommended to transplant autos. How about those small coir pots? Roots are supposed to grow right through them. Has anyone had any success growing in them?

I have, every once in a while, started my autos in small peat pots and then just planted the entire thing in my larger pot - works a treat. If the roots grow through the pot, you'll have NO trouble putting them in their forever home. In order to make SURE you won't have problems with coir pots, water them from the bottom - put your small pots on a tray or saucer and pour the water into this allowing the pots to soak up the water from below... this should help break down the coir. This isn't really considered transplanting... that would be if you were removing them from their first pot and putting them in another one... so you'll have no worries. And it won't matter WHEN you do it... you could do it now or you could wait until you start to see a hint the roots are coming through the coir pot... but when you DO see the roots start to come through, get them in the larger pot asap. Good luck!

@homerjgangia, thanks! It's my first grow ever, other than a few unknown genetics off of the internet which are vegging right now. It's a first proper seed grow.

I use the peat pucks, they are close to what you're using. They expand when put in water. I have had great luck with them. With what you have, I would wet and carefully Crack open the bottom, but it's not necessary. Yes it will grow through. Either way plant fast so it starts to soften for the roots to grow through. What people don't like about the ones you are using. They can bring mold. Next time try the peat pucks.

@Pjm70, ah cheers. I used them before, but didn't have good luck with them. 2/3 had mold. They may have been bad, though. I did pour boiling water on them as per someone's recommendation to kill any remaining spores or insects. It didn't help. I may give them another shot again, though. Planting the coir pots sooner makes sense. Thanks for this suggestion!

Good luck with your grow! Just a word of caution here, though... autoflowers hate to be transplanted and so the general rule of thumb is to plant them in the pot they're going to finish in! But since they're going to NEED to be transplanted, I urge you to be very careful with them and try not to disturb their root system much if at all... Good luck and enjoy the journey!

@GrowingGrannie, ah too bad I learned about this after planting them. I'm gonna wait until she's a bit bigger and will let the medium dry out before transplanting her. Thank you for your advice! I was told do germinate her in a lighter medium before moving her into a more fertile soil later. Question: would pots made out of coir work? To germinate and grow out a seedling in and later by planting in directly in the final container? I have another seedling growing in one of those and the roots seem to penetrate that pot easily. Thanks for your advice!

One of the most beautiful strain that I’ve seen. Check it out in my diaries. Thanks. Best wishes👍
