Calyxico Followed the book this week after seed #1 of 2 seems to be failing. Soaked for 24 hrs in runoff from a dehumidifier (Ph shown in the pics.)
The seed went directly to folded paper towel applied with chopsticks to minimize likelihood of contamination. And labeled ziplock bag. Also used a seed starter warming mat. Applied mychorrizial fungi before sealing (That's not actually Great White but that vendor didn't have the salt-shaker packaging.) Used the same water from dehumidifier. Fully emerged from the soil on the 14th. Started day in the dark and rather pale, but producing chlorophyll within hours. Light source are two Cree CXB3590's and custom LED's I will go into later.

Calyxico Slow opening act. Showed some yellowing and spots. Re-potted to good effect and turned off the red led's (730nm, 60nm, 630nm) which lowered the temperature in the tent from 80's to 70's

Calyxico Still slow moving but she's on the mend. New growth after a Ph, toxicity, or lighting issue. The desicated apical meristem has given way to two healthy side shoots. I intend to start LST at 4".

Calyxico Saw small fly this week. Not sure if it was a random fruit fly or a fungus gnat. I put on a layer of perlite to keep anymore from getting to the soil.

Calyxico added about 3 table spoons of earthworm castings to the soil. dissapointed by the LED so switched to a 200W induction light with a reflector (basically a fancy flourescent bulb.) Immediately happy with the results. tie downs for LST will begin shortly.

Calyxico Repotted with Black Kow manure, earthworm castings, and bat guano.
Calyxico Finally seeing buds. With that in mind I am estimating more like 10 weeks oppsed to the standard 8 weeks for this strain.

Calyxico Watering abiut every 4 days. following a lighting schedule for Manatuska Valley, AK; Sept 26, 2020. That puts me at 11:48.39 hrs of lighting with redshift for sunrise and sunset.
Using Diatomaceous earth for silica.

Calyxico Heat building up, so I increased the air exchange frequency. went from 10 min/hr to 20. Still adding diatomaceous earth for silica and bat guano and 1/8 teaspoon of Monopotassium Phosphate per gallon. watering about a gallon every 4 days. these felt pots seem to require more watering. Considering the growth, totally worth it.

Calyxico Kiki gets her flowers. Increasing the watering frequency (note the "w" on her schedule) as she started to wilt on day 4. In theory, she only has two weeks left, but I think she may use the extea time to bulk up. thw color is starting to fade on the fan leaves close to the flowers. I am also doing a partial defoliation everyday.

Calyxico Slowly reducing leaves. Temps running high (into 80's at midday). Trichomes finally showing up. Definitely learning some things for the clone.

Calyxico This is Kiki's last week. I rewound her schedule to "september" because the daylight hours were getting a bit short, and her flowers were a bit small. Weird side note: yhe leaves tasted amazing. I don't know what that is going to mean as far as taste of the smoke...but I'm looking forward to it. This experience was an honor. She was the healthiest plant I've ever had. Much thanks to Salamander soil from Fox Farm. Also used a couple of pounds of Black Kow compost, Great White, and the rest is in the description.
